The room was large and comfortable. There was lots of activities on site.
It was not close to town and difficult to take taxis anywhere, but they did offer a shuttle around their site.
The restaurant too expensive and I didn’t know about a resort tax that was $108 and 2 nights cost $390 I think that’s excessive
The site has tons of potential.
I don't like to be critical but the hotel is dated. The traditional Austrian staff uniforms are way too old fashioned. This is a ski resort not a museum. Look at what's happening in Austria today for inspiration
The tv didn’t work our first night but it was fixed, thank you There was a mini fridge in our room that made a lot of noise - we understand lugged it.
Love The cozy family-like structure of the property. Love the entertainment, including chess, puzzles, movie nights.... Very friendly staff. Very clean with a pleasant smell. We enjoyed the cafe and delicious beer.
The Austrian inspired Trapp Family Lodge in beautiful Stowe, Vermont makes the perfect European vacation without the trip across the Atlantic. This Alpine-style lodging just a few miles away from the Stowe ski slopes is perfect for families and winter lover’s alike.
The Bavarian-esq lodge features 96 rustic rooms, with studio suites, and one or two bedroom options. All rooms have sophisticated, European old-world decor, free wifi, a shared balcony, comfortable bedding, jacuzzi tubs, cable television, and spectacular mountain views. Some suites feature fireplaces, mini fridges, and pull-out sofas.
There are four onsite European-style restaurants -- The Dining Room, The Lounge, Bierhall, and the Bakery. The restaurants serve farm-to-table dishes, delicious pastries, craft beers, and fine wines. Seasonal menu offerings reflect a combination of Austrian and Vermont cuisine.
The Trapp Family Lodge offers most amenities one would expect while staying at a resort, including a fitness center, restaurants, and activities. Winter sports lovers can enjoy backcountry skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing.
