It was close to Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral where we attended a funeral.
We were told that breakfast was included and available from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. We went to breakfast at 8:45 AM and the only thing available was a couple of biscuits and coffee. There was no hot water to make tea. The television did not receive CBS and had very hazy reception on NBC. There was an ice bucket in the room but the the ice machine was not on the floor where we stayed.
The manager on duty (Norma) was friendly & understanding. She was the ONLY acceptable element of the hotel.
The pictures of this hotel are so inaccurate it looks as those they were taken at a separate location or decades ago. The property is old, outdated, & run down. Everything looked worn out & dirty; the bed, the furniture, the carpet. We had been traveling all day with 2 small children & were so looking forward to unpacking & relaxing; this hotel was so disgusting that we immediately loaded everything back on the cart & checked out, at 9:00 at night. The location is unsafe, there is no secure parking option & it is dirty. So. Dirty. I did not stay at this location more than 30 minutes. I would not recommend staying at this property.
They cancelled my reservation before I got there.
Nice downtown location
As soon as I walked in I was treated with a clean good smiling room. The bed was very comfy and clean sheets
There's no refrigerator in the room, only 6 channels .. some of the furniture in the room was old and torn
Trying their best but coming up short
Breakfast was good and staff was friendly and helpful
Rooms are dirty and furniture is old / beat up. They forgot to wash the sheets in my first room, however they did give me a different room. The bed in the second room had stains on the comforter and one pillow. Bathroom was clean but very small. No fridge in the room. Telephone didn't work when calling the front desk. Looks like repairs were done with a hot glue gun.
The facilities were very worn down. Walls are super thin, so you will hear everything. Not worth the money at all.
We stayed here 4 years ago after our wedding reception when it was the Omni. We were sad that it felt so different t. The room smelled like cigarettes. The staff was nice, but lacked the professionalism the Omni had. An elevator was broken. The restaurant looked closed on a Saturday night. For $200 a night we expect more.
Good hotel but AC Problems in June...
I loved the hotel as a whole, very vintage with a good feel, and the name fits well in my opinion. I feel if you come to St. Louis often, then you must stay at the Majestic at least once.
What I'm about to say you can take to the bank because I run a family AC & Refrigeration business in the south! The lobby AC was out all weekend (Friday to Sunday), also we had our room set at 60° and trust me it was not 60°. Could also tell that our room AC has had problems such as water leaks (due to water damage around the return grille and unit access hatch. Filter and return grille was dirty, overall the AC would run better if the units had the proper maintenance on a regular schedule.
There was not enough parking for guest, we had to pay an extra $20 at another location to park...good thing we only stayed one night. The air and fridge in the room didn't work. The attendant was not compassionate at all and seemed to be no help. The room seemed dirty and old. The shower took awhile to get to work because the handle was stuck. The shower curtain rings were rusted The hair dryer was disgusting and half worked. The restaurant/bar in the pictures wasn't even open when we were there. I will never be back.
Rooms were clean. Location was in a great spot downtown,
Parking is not free. Even though they advertised online as free parking, it isn't. Staff wasn't equipped to handle problems, we watched a man ahead of us not find his room ready for him and the single person working wasn't able to help him. We were told we couldn't park there even though Kayak listed the hotel as "free parking". Upon check in, the sole person at the desk told us we couldn't park at the hotel and needed to park somewhere else. We went for dinner, returned and found 3 empty spaces. We parked in one. The following morning we had a note on the car letting us know our license plate had been recorded and to not park there again. Not to worry. We won't be using this hotel again. It's too bad, it's in a great location.
Very nice stay
Staff was always very friendly and helpful. They even let me leave my car at the hotel while I went to the Cardinals game even though I had already checked out!
Great location to MetroLink & tourist spots
Did not honor reservation; reserved king bed; could not make first night; called hotel to inform of delay; gave king bed to other guests Requested wake-up call and taxi for morning of departure; neither fulfilled
