Good location, quirky atmosphere, peaceful, spacious rooms, nice pool (but needed more cleaning)
Breakfast was very limited, sex tourist opposite our room off putting bringing different Cambodian girls back each night, air con dripping water was reported but not fixed during our stay, mattress like lying on a rock
Staff was nice
First of all I arranged with the property a free pick up from the airport and noone was there Second all the phone numbers on the booking website and on their website are wrong but no even one try to correct them. Breakfast was very difficult to call it breakfast as it was something resembling it Noone was there to cook eggs. All was prepared in advance some homelets some pancakes but really really unacceptable. The coffee was some black liquid with no taste there wasn' t even sugar on the tables. IN the room there were coffee sugar and cups but no kettle. The floor of the bathroom made on wood was almost impossible to walk on it as it is detached at the point of being dangerous to walk on it.
The staff are lovely and did their best to be responsive and helpful.
The many things that didn’t work. After full day of travel, we were checked in to a ground floor room in which the A/C didn’t work. Requested another room and moved to another ground floor room in which the TV didn’t work and there was no hot water in the bathroom. The bedding smelt musty and damp. Next morning requested another room on the 1st floor and moved. The bathroom door didn’t close because the wooden floor had swelled. Every fault easily fixed, ahead of guests checking in. Guests ought not have to alert staff of the problems => if only the maintenance person was vigilant. We suspect the owner didn’t want to spend any money on maintenance.
Amazing pool. The bathroom was amazing - it gives you a jungle feel. The location is also excellent. Just around 10 mins walking distance from the night markets and pub street. If you don't like walking, you can easily hire a tuk tuk outside the hotel. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed the stay in Petit Temple.
Limited breakfast. Advised hotel in advance for vegetarian option but no provision were made. A la carte menu also very limited for vegetarians. Lights in the room and everywhere in the hotel are very dim. Also the photos on booking.com are very misleading. I booked the Petit Pool Suite and from the pictures it seemed that it was upstairs with a private balcony with a ballustrade. However we were given a room on the ground floor and were told that the ones upstairs were family rooms for 3 adults - so don't go by the pictures of the rooms on booking.com since you might be disappointed.
It’s a quirky little place. Buit to resemble a temple, the pool in the courtyard is the main asset. It’s located in a quiet street yet close to everything of importance in Siem Reap. Some really good restaurants and cafes nearby as well , away from the busy Pub Street. Staff is nice and friendly but only a few of them spoke English so sometimes they were a bit helpless.
The rooms are pretty dark. Since the windows only have shutters and no glass you can’t really open them without having mosquitos all over the place.
