10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful. Friendly, attentive, and worked hard to ensure guests needs are taken care of. The location is absolutely beautiful. We couldn't stop staring at the lush grounds and ocean. It truly is paradise.
Cons: That we had to leave
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Victoria House was the real star. They were extremely friendly and appeared to really want the traveler to have a great experience. Food was good, and the service was great.
Cons: The seaweed on the beach is a bit of an issue. The staff worked everyday to remove it but the fact that you can’t walk directly into the beach is a it of an issue. In conversations with other travelers this is an issue all along San Pedro.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Christina!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredible, the facilities had everything you need to have fun, relax and just getaway from it all. The proximity to water activities was the best. Could book anything extra right on property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great air conditioning
Cons: The restroom door needs to be a solid door . Room is too small for privacy and doors that are just slits give no persona privacy
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and pools were amazing. The bar and restaurant on site are some of the best in the area, and they have everything you need from bikes to snorkel rentals. The place is just beautiful.
Cons: Not much to not like. Maybe one else or two instances of staff being slow or nonchelant, but that's just the island I think.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, clean hotel and friendly stuff.
Cons: The beach is “protected” with a concrete wall. This disrupts the ecosystem and the natural flow of sand. Also very hard to swim in this man made pool. Not possible to make nice walks on the shore line, too much garbage and too much natural destruction. Unfortunately, the environment was not a priority when they constructed this place.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Food was the bomb! Warm welcome. Service and attentiveness and friendliness of staff was unmatched! They served you anywhere and everywhere on the property - including on the dock. Always promptly attending with a smile. Total relaxation. Hotel picks you up from the airport, drops u off, arranges all trips, scuba pickup right off the private doc. Superb!!!! Beds and pillow super comfy, friendly staff, abundance of towels, two pools including an infinity pool!
Cons: The overcharging overpricing on food and drinks was tacky. They charge $5 US to "split" a meal and put it on another plate. Their "complimentary" breakfast is worst than what you would find at a Motel 6. One of their employees taunted a beautiful iguana, stepped on its tail on purpose and ripped it off -- horrifying the guests who saw. Needless to say once we all complained this employee was not seen again on the property.
Cocotal Inn and Cabanas - San Pedro Town - Building
2
9.4 Excellent (141 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Cocotal Inn and Cabanas in San Pedro, you'll be steps from Belize Barrier Reef and a 5-minute drive from Boca Del Rio Beach. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was super friendly, Ben is a great host, he offered his help all the time and was extremely useful specially prior arrival, he contacted us in advance and explained how to arrive, he arranged the pick up etc The cabana was delightful, it has a kitchen with oven, fridge etc. At the hotel they have kayaks and bikes to borrow at any time and they are flexible with the customers. The location is good, there is a supermarket nearby, and lots of restaurants, very easy to stay there.
Cons: Currently all the Atlantic coast (including Belize and Mexico) is full of “sea grass” what means that its impossible to swim in the beach, the water is literally colour brown and it smells really bad. If you want to swim, there are two options, either taking a kayak and go a bit further, where the water is nice, or you can go to the “secret beach” where there is not a trace of sea grass ( we recommend going by golf car, we went cycling and it was too much)
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Everything was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, secluded but just a quick golf cart ride to town. Hands down the best part was the staff, they were AMAZING!! They arranged everything from transport to & from the airport, a trip to the grocery store, massages, snorkeling & even went above and beyond by taking me in to town a couple times to give me a personal tour of San Pedro and local cuisine. The resort itself and the views are stunning and each unit is unique as I was fortunate to see some others besides mine, so whatever you want Cocotal has. They also have kayak, bikes and golf carts on site. Honestly I had thought before my stay that on my next trip I would try another resort but now that I have experienced the best I can't imagine staying anywhere but The Cocotal Inn and suites!! Thank you all for an experience I will remember for a lifetime!!
Cons: Everything was absolutely perfect. There was nothing about my stay that I didn't enjoy!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great, especially Ben. He was very nice and helpful.
Cons: Everything was great, nothing to say here that we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic property. Great location, staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Sargasso weed piles up but that has nothing to do with the property owners. Adjacent property does not clean it up.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cocotal was a friendly, quiet, clean, and relaxing place to stay. I appreciated the spacious, clean accommodations and grounds, as well as the use of the kayaks and bikes to get around. The staff was very helpful in arranging transportation to/from the airport and water taxi, which made the trip easy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well maintained property, quiet and relaxing. Perfect for a few days stay, though it might get a bit boring. If you want more action you will have to bike to the city, about 20 minutes ride.
Cons: Bed was squeaky, it was a bit far away from the city. Since we went in the off season many of the restaurants in the area weren’t open.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A true get away from it all! Places to go and things to do just a rented golf cart away. Else wise the view was perfect for that get away feeling.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff and the perfect location for the area. Close to what you would want to do an see.
Cons: The air port is closer than we would have liked, certain times of the day it was noisy with all the flights just our the back door.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The suite was very big - full apartment size space
Cons: Directly in the middle of town - which was both a positive and a negative at different times during our stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is very clean, very accommodating, and a great location!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very cleaned
Cons: Not much beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. Close to all activity in the city. Would definitely recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was perfect! Felt like home, kept up immaculately, wonderful location and the staff was amazing. We felt like we were home the whole time.
Cons: There is absolutely nothing to not love about this property.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location of The Palms is on the beach and in the center of San Pedro across the street from the small airport. There are also several golf cart rentals very close by since this is the best way to travel around the area. The staff does a great job of keeping the grounds of The Palms looking beautiful and well groomed. The office staff and housekeeping respond quickly with requests and are friendly. We liked having a kitchen to cook breakfast and save a little bit of money since it is surprisingly expensive there ( a hamburger is $9 and fries are extra and a bag of potato chips is $5 at the local grocery store). There are also 3 dive shops within 100 yards.
Cons: The beds are a little too firm and the beach is hard to keep clean due to the seaweed. The seaweed or sea grass is all around the island and difficult to control. So no matter how much or how little you pay it affects every property.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Restaurants and shops are within walking distance. They provide free bikes. First 5 gallons of filtered water is complimentary.
Cons: Beach area is very small, lots of sea grass causing bad odor. They provided one pack of coffee, pay for more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. The beds were enormous and both bedrooms were large. Beautiful views from the back and front patio in our room. Fully equipped and modern kitchen.
Cons: Couches could be more comfortable and creaked when we sat down.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Yes! It's true. This place is a gem. Very convenient location - by the sea and close enough to the harbour for swift arrival and departure. The apartment is comfortable and clean. You can tell by the way it is decorated and equipped that the appartement is owned & loved! Our kids loved the swimming pool on site. All staff are very kind helpful. They booked a fantastic snorkeling tour for us next door at Ramons. Water is provided in the apartment. Overall an excellent experience and we would return in future only to see the beach again from our balcony.
Cons: There wasn’t anything to dislike about The Palms Oceanfront suites!
Xanadu Island Resort - San Pedro Town - Bedroom
4
9.4 Excellent (119 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Xanadu Island Resort in San Pedro, you'll be on the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Reef Runner Glass Bottom Boat and San Pedro Church. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff is excellent, the grounds are nice, the unit interiors are a little tired, but its the Caribbean, and everything has a little rust on it. Once you get past that, lay back and relax...
Cons: Nada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service from the staff and property owner who were exceptionally helpful with bookings and other needs. We had 4 kids in our group and the pool was fantastic for them. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. We felt very comfortable there and were sad to leave. Walking back and forth into the busy downtown area, returning to Xanadu always felt tranquil. We couldn’t hear the numerous golf cart engines once on the property.
Cons: I think one disappointment was that there is no beach on the property - gorgeous view of the water for sure, and a roped off swimmming area at the end of the dock - but we had to go elsewhere to let the kids play in sand and walk directly into shallower water. There are accessible beaches on nearby properties and we were glad to learn that the beaches are public — as long as you don’t sit in another resort’s lounge chairs, throw a towel down at any beach and you’re fine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The people and friendliness. Location close to the San Pedro Center. Great restaurants near by. Fantastic to go Snorkeling and diving. All tour companies will pick you up at the hotel dock and bring you back. Vacation
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Franz was very helpful with setting up local tours. He was very knowledgeable about each tour and steered us in the right direction. Melanie was very helpful with suggesting places to eat.
Cons: Beach is man made, as were all the resort beaches on the island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was absolutely amazing they went over and beyond, every single one of them. The location was beautiful. felt like we stayed with Family.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I did some research and was looking for something away from tourist but with good service to get excursions booked. The fact that the resort aims to be eco-friendly was a plus and that it had a pool and hottub by the water was nice. The staff was accomodating and professional. the rooms were cleaned daily. The pool was cleaned daily and so was the property. It also helped that they provide a taxi to and from the ferry or the airport in san pedro at no extra cost. We also enjoyed the pier at sunset and sundown. We used the kayaks and paddle boards. Someone in our party did not know how to ride a bike, but we would have used them if she did.
Cons: The only part that I compromised on was there was not a beach where you can walk right into the ocean from the property. But we were able to walk to Ramom's village which had beach front.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great staff was awesome
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Xanadu is a hidden gem. Our family did not want to leave the resort to go anywhere.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, Staff, pools
Cons: Food at Restaurant,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice and accommodating. We stayed in one of the Casitas with a full kitchen, which was well supplied with cooking items. Beautiful pools with swim up bar was nice. Food was good and reasonably price. They also offer free use of bikes, kayaks and standup paddleboards.
Cons: The beach is not very nice because of all the seaweed that washes up on the shore. However, this is true of all of the resorts on Ambergris Caye.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Coco beach is an excellent resort with an extreem lovely and helpful staff! The place is big and very nice/fancy with 2 big pools! We had an awesome time here! Dinner at cocoblanca was very majestic! To bad we were the only guests.. An other big plus are the beds!! Big beds with very soft linnens and pillows!
Cons: It is a bit far from the center! They have golfcarts but they are very expensive! So we took the free bikes! Unfortunatly we couldn’t take bikes after 5 pm because it gets dark.. so for dinner we had to stay near the hotel with lesser food options.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Bed was a bit hard for our taste
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff at reception, Guest Services, and the lady at the golf cart rental booth. Bed is comfortable. Space of room is good.
Cons: They market it as luxury, but there is nothing luxurious about it. The facilities are boring and nothing special. It is hard to get to places. They ripped you off on transportation (USD25 for 3/4 miles distance) unless one takes water taxi. Golf cart is not always practical. They give you “subsidized” transport but not at timing that makes sense. I had to leave one hour early and ended up waiting around. My definition of luxury is customizing to what the Guests’ needs. Totally not value for money.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The pools & rooms were beautiful & clean. The staff were so friendly and really went out of their way to help with anything we needed. The pool bar has an awesome layout, atmosphere and menu.
Cons: There is no gym facility even though it says there is on booking.com It is too far from the main area of downtown, so you have to hire a golf buggy every time you want to go for dinner other than the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was remote enough but close enough to restaurants and towns.
Cons: The air conditioner struggled some but it was still comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful... They were very attentive and actually took a few minutes to get to know us... They made us feel very welcome and we plan to stay here again in the near future!
Cons: The restaurant is very expensive for what you get but that doesn't have anything to do with the hotel... It is a very nice place with clean food so I guess that is what makes the prices higher.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: We thought we had paid the cost of the previous room. Upon arrival he would ask us for cash because he supposedly had only charged half the cost. Then we checked in the bank and all the money had been collected. We communicated it but there was no refund.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very comfortable, I love the bathroom. Great service. I will definitely visit this hotel again. Very affordable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good location close to restaurants (our favourite El Fagon), big rooms, very clean. A very good location for families. The dive shop had good prices for snorkling and diving and were very profesional and helpful.
Cons: It would have been nice to have the breakfast included in the room rates.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located right outside the town center but a close walk to restaurants and dive shops. Behind the modest entrance there is a nice open area with ocean view and a nice little pool with a sufficient number of sunchairs. They also had several hammocks and sitting groups. The rooms had a good size with a large shower. The room had a refrigerator and they refilled a large pincher with drinking water every day. The staff were very helpful and kind and we had a great stay. Would definitely stay there again.
Cons: The hotell is located next to the local airport. It did not bother us since there are a limited number of flights per day and only small aircrafts.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Upgrade the door locks. They are very poor standard was not what you expect from any hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great pool, great partner restaurant (Blue Watwr Grill), great location, friendly staff
Cons: Pier could have been better for swimming in the ocean. No steps or proper dock to swim.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect! The room is modest but fully functional and enjoyable! We loved staying here!
Cons: The bed was not firm enough for our liking, and not enough pillows
8.8 Excellent
Pros: SAfe gated apartments right on the waterfront and walkable to everything. Nice little pool where my son met other children to play with. We were picked up and escorted back to the airport.
Cons: Apartment needs blackout curtains, shower by pool doesn't work.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well equipped and spacious in a quiet location but only 5-10 minutes walk to restaurants and bars
Cons: Hidden costs of resort fees not included in headline cost
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff was very accommodating. They went above and beyond to please us where they could. The location was central to everything! The pool was very nice and close too the condo. Great bed to sleep in. The room was cleaned daily! The views from the villa were amazing.
Cons: The Kitchen was way to small. No area for prep or sufficient food storage and no dine in area. Grounds are very sandy so prepare to clean your feet constantly. The plus side of that is the facility provides a basin of water outside your villa so that you can dip your feet in to clean them prior to entering the residence! Get your iron and blow dryer in advance so that you have them when you need it.
5.4 Okay
Pros: good Location
Cons: No facilities at the property, no restaurant, no bar, no housekeeping on Sunday. They charge like it was a 4 star hotel when it is only like a bunch of villas around a pool.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location nearby everything.
Cons: The unit that we stayed were little older than pics. Living room furniture were not comfortable at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, spaciousness, having more than one room, incredible view of the water, beautiful pool area
Cons: Can’t think of a thing

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about White Sands! The condo was perfect, beautifully decorated and met our every need, including kitchen appliances! The property is exceptional. After touring the island, it's the only place I want to stay on Ambergris. The staff are all super friendly and helpful, and they helped us make the most of our time. The location is also great - not too far from town, quiet, and close to all the cool things to do. We have already recommended White Sands to our friends. AMAZING!
Cons: We loved everything, although I wouldn't complain if they expanded their menu at the tapas bar. More good food is always a plus! The drinks are great, and the setting can't be beat.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff here is excellent. Rooms are very clean and comfotable. Plenty of places to lounge by the pool or ocean.
Cons: Pretty far from town, you will need a golf cart. No Iron or hairdryer in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful setting and amazing rooms. Very friendly staff.
Cons: A bit odd that although they serve breakfast from 7am to 4pm you cannot get a coffee after 11am!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful, accommodating staff. Beautiful comfortable facility. Great pool was a hit with the kids.
Cons: You need a golf cart to get to most things, and eing charged $80 for a golf cart you can rent in town for $45 is not so friendly. A couple of fairly large cockroaches in our cabana (but I suppose that’s typical for the tropics).
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful beach, friendly and helpful staff, nice pool and manicured gardens. It was great to have a kitchenette which we used every morning to make breakfast. Terri was super nice. We kayaked to the barrier reef and did some snorkeling which was a lot of fun. Close to secret beach for sunset, and to Akbol where they had very good food at affordable price.
Cons: Unfortunately... it was so hot!!! The weak ac would turn and off throughout the night and the party downstairs added to the irritation. After being in Belize for a week, this is the only place we got insect bites while sleeping. We also found roaches (baby ones and a big one) in our room :(

Cons: San Pedro town is not the nicest place but the Blue Tang is well situated and very clean and quiet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very homey, plenty of space in suite, full kitchen, good breakfast, courteous and helpful staff.
Cons: TV signal was poor, could not watch a lot of the channels.
5.4 Okay
Pros: It was close to the ferry that took us to the island, so even though the hotel offered a free taxi, one could easily walk the distance. The breakfasts were good, with lots of fruit, coffee and local specialties. The pool was small but well taken care of.
Cons: Online we found nicer hotels in San Pedro with similar pricing. From now on, I will only book rooms with booking.com when the site says “refundable.”
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Slightly expensive for Belize but worth it
10.0 Excellent

7.1 Good
Pros: Please I need to talk with the hotel, I called several time the number 5012264817 and nobody answer the phone, it is urgent, my home phone 14038737652 Juan Fuguet
Cons: Everyvthing
6.7 Good
Pros: It was clean and Modern, decent size rooms & nice staff.
Cons: This property is a good way out of Belize town you’ll need a golf cart. It’s more of an all inclusive resort without the all inclusiveness. You pay for everything in dollars which also includes a service charge on top. If you head up town you can find equally nice food at a fraction of the price It can sometimes feel false, the staff are nearly forced to be nice. It’s looking to cater towards people buying units and turning the area into the mahogany village If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs as the noise outside from passing karts or rain can keep you awake.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: New resort in San Pedro, everything looks nice and clean, staff is very nice and really tries their best to help and do whatever they can for you to be happy and satisfied. Food was good especially the small stands that sells empanadas, tacos etc for a very reasonable price! Their outside coffee house is also excellent. You must rent a golf car because it's very large in size.
Cons: As mentioned by others the hotel is sea-front but for actual swimming you have to take a 15-min boat ride to the hotel's private beach area. The private beach is beautiful, however it has 2 major issues: first is a HORDE of mosquitoes so be prepared, and more important is that the beautiful water beds from the pictures ARE NOT FREE. The hotel charges 40$ For half day of usage! We felt this is kind of a fraud as this is literally the first image they show here online and to be honest a main reason for us to book this hotel over others. We complained and were allowed to use them free of charge. Moreover the hotel charges a 10% "Resort Fee" (that goes directly to them) for any food and beverage that you order, in addition to regular taxes and service fees! It just feels like a clever way for them to charge more money than what the menu shows without us noticing. Even an employee of the hotel told us that this resort fee is new and they received several complaints about it. Bottom line beautiful hotel but feels like they try to milk you from your money in many elaborate ways which we did not appreciate!

Pros: Everything was nice and as advertised. We had a nice patio, great ocean view, full sized fridge, the AC worked like a champ, and for the very 1st time in a Central American country, a super comfy bed. The hotel is just North of the main part of San Pedro, convenient walking distance to all central activities. The staff was all very responsive and friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spotless & excellently maintained. Conveniently located in the center of everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility was absolutely great; it was immaculately clean, well presented and really well furnished. The location was great too, right on the beach and just on the edge of town. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bar/restaurant area was also spotless. Fitz and his team provided really great food and were pleasant at all times. This is a fantastic place.
Cons: The pool is pretty small, but still big enough for a dip and to be fair, the sea is less than 100 yds away. Otherwise, nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and friendly staff
Cons: N/A
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean spacious room with nice kitchen, air conditioning worked well
Cons: The restaurant left something to be desired and the rates they had for tours and golf cart rentals were at least 30% more than could be found elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying here was an excellent experience. It's right on the beach, like feet away from the water. I could hear the ocean from the bedroom. And it's right next to everything, food, bars, tours, water ferry, it was super convenient. Kenroy is such a good cook! The food was great and he takes special requests. I felt very safe and comfortable here.
Cons: I genuinely liked everything. There is nothing I would change about my experience other than staying longer.

Pros: very friendly staff Loved the breakfast burrito! Liked the swings in the water. Liked the pier!
Cons: Liked the sandy area near the beach but the beach itself by the water was poor - sandbags were an eyesore. Did not like the pot holes on the road to town - terrible experience driving the cart to town. Did not like the fact that we were not furnished with bottled water in our room. Should be included with the stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The chef cooks wonderful food. I was surprised. The pool is deep enough to practice free diving in. The beach was consistently clean. The staff was SUPER friendly and VERY attentive to our needs. A great value for the price.
Cons: It is a great property but dated. Looking at the other properties with swim up bars and being barefoot resorts there were things that we wished we had at our resort. The managers should take a walk and see what the other resorts offer. Some have shaded walks with bungalows.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1) The staff - everyone is super friendly, supportive, and efficient. Special shot out to Pedro and Jennifer at desk, Hector, Shelby and Charlene in restaurant. 2) Location is perfect. Easy to get to downtown San Pedro and to Secret Beach. Or just stay on resort and sit on beach there. Beaches on Ambergris aren't so hot but these guys try to keep the seaweed at bay. 3) Our penthouse was great. Plenty of space for the two of us but I could imagine it would have been just as nice for another couple to join. Nice pool on terrace.
Cons: The negatives are very very minor in the grand scheme of things and in no way detract from what was an amazing stay.
7.1 Good
Pros: Accommodations were large. Pool was nice.
Cons: “Beach” was unusable because of smell from rotting seaweed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The pool was amazing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The suites are roomy, clean, well equipped and serviced regularly.
Cons: The food at the 0 restaurant for dinner is average. The pool food is good though
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed staying at Las Terrazas. We mostly cook our own food and the kitchen had all the necessary appliances. The villa was spacious, the staff extremely helpful and unobtrusive. Also the dive shop, White Sands, which had recommended Las Terrazas by the way, was well run, friendly and knowledgeable.
Cons: The beach was invaded with sargasses (there was nothing to be done about it) so one couldn't go into the water fram the beach. However we were directed to the beach on the other side of the island, a bit far, but a vwery pleasant place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing food and amazing hotel
Cons: The beach could be better

7.5 Good
Pros: The bed was so very comfortable and the staff was very responsive but there were many issues with our room. PS: Junior was the BEST bartender!!!
Cons: there were water heating and pressure issues (they actually replaced tankless water heater 2nd day in), our phone didn't work for 3 days and our wifi in the room only worked for a single day of our 6 day stay and the ants in the kitchen were a bit crazy. Also charged $20 for broken remote even with all the issues we grinned and dealt with.... Seems a bit knit picky on their end.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved the amenities, my son played basketball, kayaked, and we hired board games for the nights we spent in the villa. The shuttle service was great too. The villa itself was wonderful and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Cons: We initially stayed in a superior sea view, but there was no view so we upgraded to the beach front at extra cost. Was slightly disappointed as we hadn’t budgeted for this and original view wasn’t as advertised. Still we are happy with our decision as it was well worth it and the villas themselves are lovely. The resort is 3.5 miles out of town which doesn’t sound much, but factor it in when planning your activities/meals out.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, very helpful. Location was wonderful.
Cons: Room was in need of a few updates. Would have liked a TV in the bedroom.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and clean and comfortable
Cons: It was far away from the center and not many options for food
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything
Cons: Everything was fine.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: On the northern end of Ambergris Caye, the staff is incredibly accommodating. The spacious rooms are great for families. The location right on the beach can’t be beat and the water taxi to/from San Pedro stops right at their dock.
Cons: There is no real restaurant at the property, but it’s not a big deal since there are several restaurants right across the street.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Belizean Shores! The property was beautiful, especially the pool which we enjoyed multiple times a day. There is also a beautiful dock with hammocks over the water. Tennis court, bikes, golf cart rentals were also great, as was the fruit stand with fresh coconuts and the food and drinks we ordered poolside. The grounds were always immaculate and the staff very friendly and attentive. Also, the onsite tour operator Tuff E Nuff was amazing -- and right at the dock, super convenient!
Cons: The shower water temperature fluctuated often and the tap water is not desalinated, though they provide you with big jugs of water for drinking. This didn't bother us, but just something to keep in mind. And nothing to do with the hotel, but just want to mention that we were there in early October and the mosquitos were in full force, so bring bug spray!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s eclectic. No restaurant on the property...so, you either rent a golf cart....and drive up-or-down the road...or you cross the street...to the little place there....which is ACTUALLY pretty good! This is NOT your standard, canned resort property....it’s quirky....but, mostly in a fun sort-of way. Far enough from town to be “out of town”.....but close enough to get there....with a try. Staff was local and cool. We had a room , with a loft, which was quite cool...as I was traveling with two teenagers. Pool was fun....very strange, but entertaining design.
Cons: Beach is dread.
7.4 Good
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds are kept up nicely. The location is good. Far enough from the town, but easy enough to get to town. The pool and bar is on the premises. The views are good and they have an excursion office on site which makes it easy. The reef with use of their free kayaks make it easy to get to the reef and snorkel. It is a good value for the price,
Cons: The units inside are showing its age and kitchen facilities are sometimes not complete or not working. The beds are somewhat comfortable, but need newer mattresses instead of a memory foam topper. There is no onsite restaurant, but many near by which helps.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is on the ocean and we woke up to the most beautiful view each day. The staff members were very gracious and accommodating. It was very convenient to get to San Pedro. If we went back to Belize we would definitely stay at Belizean Shores again.
Cons: No. We liked everything.

Featured amenities include a computer station, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views, room, staff, food, drinks were all first class and we can’t wait to come back. Oh, did I mention the drinks?
Cons: Not much to say here. The only thing that might have been better was the sea weed problem, but that’s not their fault. The crew worked tirelessly to keep it cleaned up, unfortunately, every morning it was back worse than the day before.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet spot on the island about 4 miles north of San Pedro, this place is great if you want to stay in the hotel and enjoy beach, reef... Next external restaurant is a 20 min walk along the beach and great for lunch. We stayed in the Upper Mansion offering one terrace on both sides so you can choose sun/shade. Saw some nice birds directly from the terrace. Mexican Rock snorkeling reserve is a 5 min boat trip only. Remember, you are on the lagoon side and sea gras accumulates on the beach every day. The hotel tries to clean but can never fully succeed. Some properties left and right are not used, therefore not cleaned. The amount of plastic you find in these areas should really make us think about the way we live. Nature does not throw plastics in the water, it is us.
Cons: If they could provide a ladder at the dock offering direct access to a bit deeper water, swimming might be even more easy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The resort villas surrounded the pool and overlooked the beach. The staff and the guests made it feel like a quaint village. The service was excellent and friendly. We really enjoyed sitting around the pool or bar and talking to some very amazing guests. The resort is laid back. It is easy to enjoy lounging at the pool or sitting on a chair on the beach.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I loved our stay at Portofino. The journey to get to the resort was organized and they had planned everything out conveniently despite our multiple delays in Miami. The staff remembered our names, were very polite and friendly, and went out of their way to help make our stay better. We went to the restaurant to eat not realizing they were closing and Marcello and the restaurant staff made sure we ordered what we wanted despite them needing to catch their water taxi home. Mo, Luis and Daniella were all wonderful. We both decided that we would like to go back ASAP. Also we really loved the orange juice with breakfast
Cons: The potholes were insane on the road outside of the resort. Some extra lighting in the public roads would be nice as well
7.5 Good
Pros: Peaceful and pretty location by the sea, well-decorated rooms ( tree-top very spacious and more private as on an upper level).
Cons: Lack of free shuttle service by water to San Pedro. The town is 6 miles away so a little inconvenient for exploring other restaurants. The hotel bikes were in a very bad condition. We used these to cycle to town and would have repeated that trip or a different one, if the bikes were road worthy. We hired a golf cart for one day from the hotel which was also in a bad state and the rate is much higher than using a local company in town. The restaurant could be improved and updated. The choices are very limited and there are few healthy options. There should be more large salads as a main course. Given the proximity to the sea, why no whole grilled fish option?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: cute flower petals on the bed, the super friendly and amazing and helpful staff, the little rolled washcloth after arriving at the dock, how Moe was there to pick us up from the water taxi, soft bedding, how everyone always made sure we were back safe from daily travels, how they swept the sand from our room and porch when we were gone, the fries at the restaurant, the free bikes, the conditioner provided in the shower.
Cons: the directions we received on how to bike into town. Just tell people to take a hard right when you reach a T, then an immediate left when you see the sign for secret beach. everything else was PERFECT.
7.5 Good
Pros: The resort is smaller and which gives an added feeling of privacy. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The food ‘ drinks were excellent all throughout the day. The Cabanas/Cabañas were nice; cozy living quarters.
Cons: The beach always had a significant amount of kelp (seaweed) wash ashore discouraging us from going in the water. This, however, I do understand is beyond the resort’s control. In fact, they had staff dedicated to remove it.

9.4 Excellent
Pros: Not overdeveloped and easy to get around
Cons: Mosquitos
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view of the ocean and close to everything!
7.5 Good
Pros: What I love the most was the view from the room. It was amazing! The bed was very comfortable and the shower had plenty hot water. Staff was very kind. The place was not crowed so it's very intimate.
Cons: No breakfast available at the hotel but there are plenty places to go near by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. The location for me was perfect as I go fishing everyday with Hogzilla just 30 seconds walk from their dock. Lots of great fishing memories. Caye Casa keeps a very clean beach. Will return.
Cons: The only thing i could request is more freezer space to freeze fish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They were able to keep the small stretch of the beach in front of the hotel free of sea grass, which provided amazing view from our room and from the heated pool. Don’t be discouraged by the size of the pool. It feels absolutely amazing, so do take a dip, you won’t regret it!
Cons: The shower was a bit weak, but hey, we were on vacation, it’s okay to take things slow.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The room was clean and well equipped.
Cons: The hotel was in front of the sea, but there is a car street between. The "beach" was always full of seaweeds, and for full I mean that it was impossible to bath or walk on the beach, and the smell was not pleasant, too. The staff was very good in not inform at all us in advance about the fact that the sea was unreachable and that that was not a temporary situation. The staff was terrible: the guy responsible for the "welcome" desk is totally rude, unprepared, insolent and not collaborative. The breakfast consists in few wrapped sandwiches in a plate in the office: you should go there, take one, prepare your soluble coffee and that's it. Considering how expensive this place is, the service was ridiculous and I would never suggest anybody to go there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Caye Casa is perfectly located - beach views, very quiet, and just close enough to restaurants and bars that you're never too far away from the action. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room was bright and clean. Very happy!
Cons: Nothing - our stay was really lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Caye Casa was everthing we expected! Very clean, great location and very nice staff. Everything we needed was within walking distance.
Cons: We liked everything. The pool was nice for a quick dip. I brought a raft and enjoyed floating in the water right in front of Caye Casa.
6.8 Good
Pros: Decent location, very helpful and friendly staff, good value. I would probably stay here again but it does take some knowledge to get around and find transportation.
Cons: I don't think the sheets were cleaned after the first day we were there, otherwise the staff did well. also, the bath and shower supplies werent automatically replaced although they were willing to do so when asked.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere was phenomenal.
Cons: The restroom didn't have A/C and was soooooo hot. Started sweating the moment I finished showering.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice AC in the dorm rooms, esp after being outside in the heat. Staff were very helpful, and cool to have a bar connected to it. They also have a tour operator connected to organize snorkeling tours to Hol Chan, Eric.
Cons: Dorm room is fine, and prob best you can find in San Pedro for the price. Some of the shower heads could be fixed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the start the staff was extremely helpful. We have been to Ambergris Caye before but they led us to discover a whole new part of the island. The hostel was extremely clean and safe. I would recommend this place to anyone, hands down. Also the location is prime, close to everything and beach front!!
6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: My cash gone the second day morning when I went out to brush my teeth
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff greeted us with smiles and were very courteous of our long day. They allowed us to put our bags down, and told us they would be safe. We believed them as if they were our friends, I guess that's the vibe they gave off. The bartender didn't rob me when I tried paying American currency. The beds were super comfortable but the top bunks are for athletes only. The beach is literally in your bar. Great views. Awesome snorkeling right off the docks. Everything seems to be yours for the taking. No one told us we were where we shouldn't be, and we were obnoxiously every where. Don't swim past the socks, there's nothing to see and you'll die on the highway of boats. Dont get me wrong, there's a boat maybe every 2 minutes, but when your heads down.... If you're looking to save a buck, stay at the Snd Bar and walk into any of the expensive resorts and hotel bars you want. You can access all of them. Side note, a lot of the bars order food from sandbar!!!! I laughed when one of the workers from my hostel delivered my pizza to the bar down the street. The AC only turns on 9-9 but that climates you to the Caribbean weather which is so important when walking and biking the beaches. Don't pay more than 40 for a golf cart... Don't get one for more than a day. All you need is a bike and you'll be breaking speed limits, literally. Sorry golf art companies. you can reach most places via bike except the secret beach... It's a secret so you'll have to ask a local snitch. Everyone offers drugs at every corner. Not to kids that I saw, but to me, every f'ing corner, not at the hostel, this is downtown (lol, I'm trying to write a good review). The only way to get them to stop is to tell them you're a U.S. Cop. Worked for me anyways. Good luck and let go! You're on Vaca Cj
Cons: Everything I didn't like is a common trait in Belize. Sand bar seemed to me by get away from most of it though. They took care of their dogs.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to the reef
Cons: the island is a bit expensive
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room with Air con, definitely the best thing of the hostel
Cons: One of the staff members was a bit lazy and not helpful at all, she didn't even bother to reply sometimes
7.9 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Beds are really uncomfortable
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is amazing, right on the beach. They have several hang out spots with hammocks and floating chairs.
Cons: Haven’t stayed in a dorm room for a while and it was loud with the residents. Next time I will bring my earplugs.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Air conditioner not strong enough Neighbors Large Dogs barking all night.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location within walking distance to restaurants and scuba dive shop and pier
Cons: No pool. No real beach. Dog barking all night. Night club loud music till late at night. Ants in the room. Killed a large water roach in room. A/C took some adjusting to figure out how to get room cool. Staff could have easily done this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, king sized memory foam bed. Beautiful Room/Balcony view.
Cons: Being right on the beach, there is some noise.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel’s staff were wonderful. They are the reason I did not give this hotel a lesser rating in each category.
Cons: Noise from the dogs barking literally feet from my door and the bar next door’s live band on Saturday night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The bed in the room was very comfortable and it was nice to have a kitchen.
Cons: I thought the water in front would be swimmable. Boats, marine gas station, and seagrass prevented me from getting in.

Pros: The workers are gentle helpful
Cons: The hotel is to far from town you need to pay a toll for 5us$ to pass per day you need to rent a golf car for 250$us minimum for a week. The tour there were poor there is no options. There is nothing near the hotel, ypu can,t swim in the beach it’s impossible there is a pool only. No activities at the hotel and we had a lot of lezard amd gecko in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the type of place you leave and end up missing. I really enjoyed my stay here and would gladly come back anytime. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was excellent! There is security at night, which is nice to know. The pool is very cool. I really enjoyed how it is an adults only hotel because who wants to listen to a crying baby at the pool while on a trip/vacation. There is a pier that will help you book tours if you're interested in snorkeling while staying at Costa Blu. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a very relaxing time on Ambergris Caye. 10/10 experience!
Cons: There is nothing I did not like about the resort. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. Even the food was really good, we ended up almost always eating at the hotel because we got hooked on it and the prices are fine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean clean clean... superb hospitality & very attentive! Gotta get back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet Clean Great beach And pool
7.5 Good
Pros: Great staff simple but tasty foods
Cons: No beach property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Low key, off the beaten path but worth every penny!! Will be going back soon!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Pool (with swim-up bar) is A+. In the off-season it was easy to get chairs in the shade of an umbrella, but I could see how it might be difficult when it’s more crowded (a concern for me as a very pale person). Room was very spacious, very well air-conditioned, and we enjoyed use of the kitchenette. Kudos to Wayne for making an amazing coconut mojito!
Cons: I knew it was far out of town, but especially in the off-season, we felt kind of stuck at the hotel for meals. Wish there were a grocery store within walking distance. We could’ve just rented a golf cart, but the prices at the resort were pretty high so we didn’t bother.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: the restaurant menu was quite limited, tasty though
