Pros: This is a beautiful hotel 5 minutes from San Gimignano.The rooms are spotless, comfortable and a good size.The pool area is gorgeous. There is a complimentary transfer bus to San Gimignano several times a day which means you can avoid the nightmare of parking. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful I have experienced in any hotel. Breakfast is lovely and plentiful. There is an restaurant on site for evening meals.......the food is simply delicious and we ate there every evening............If you are looking for a hotel near San Gimignano treat yourself to a stay in this gorgeous little hotel.

Cons: I stayed here 17 years ago. Had a very romantic stay back then. When I made my reservation this time I had mentioned that experience from all those years ago and once again to my surprise we had the tower room once again. Wonderful hotel in a gorgeous setting.

The hotel is in the main center and our room overlooked a lovely view of Italian homes and countryside...it is an ancient building with everything you need including charms of an old well, a dungeon cellar, decor, food and hospitality for travelers of ancient times. Cons: I've chosen the frescoed room, the room is spacious and comfortable, unfortunately the windows open on an internal fire stair and this is not mentioned anywhere. I would not have made this choice knowing this. Considering this the room is well over priced.

It was Halloween and kids were coming for sweets which I enjoyed too but you expect someone to tell you - Please excuse us for a moment - and not just leave you in middle sentence standing there for sometime. and the other person just to stare into the computer in front of him. May be we just got spoiled from all other places we have been - in Rome and Florence and Pisa before San Gimignano where we were welcomed and greeted with smiles and a lot of attention.

Pros: The location is good, you can walk to San Gimignano by foot. The rooms are very good size, with the balconies. It's a picturesque view to Tuscany hills from the balcony or to San Gimignano. The breakfast is included in the price, and it's excellent.
Cons: The hotel restaurant seems to be a little bit dark, there is no enough light and its unable to read the menu. The restaurant decorations are some limited, it's not a place where you'd like to spend an evening. The dishes were good enough and prices are reasonable..

Cons: The parking spots near the hotel were limited, so we had to search for a place near a nearby house. But it was free, so it was OK. Also, the pillows were a bit hard and worn-out.

Cons: The wifi was very bad in the commom area and no connection at all in the rooms... Also to use the inside pool you had to book a schedule, but we weren't informed about this before arrival.

Cons: Opening Times of the shop did not fit us well and eventhough it was still hot...the swimmingpool was already closed for the winter. If you are not well on your feet you must warn them from the start. Our place was behind a little forest and if you are not good with climbing stairs this would´ve been tough on you. I did not mind, but I did thought of my friends and family that would find such an enviroment difficult. The staff just did their job, friendliness not part of the game. At least we got all the info we needed. I would love to visit the place again. There was more PRO´s than CON´s.

Cons: A four stars hotel is overpriced for what has to offer: modest room, poor choice for breakfast and staff that doesn’t seem to care a lot about the guest. Parking at hotel was full, despite the fact that we made reservation prior to our arrival.

Cons: The hotel is nowhere close to what can be seen on the photos. Room was tiny and encourages you to move away out of it. The garden itself is nice but it's really small and with so many other visitors you will have tough times looking for your own spot. Oh, and the beautiful view of the Tuscany is not visible cause of the surrounding hedge. For breakfasts they serve just a basic variety of vegetables, ham, cheese and scrambled egg. Every day the same... We were aiming to have a week of relax but instead spend it travelling around, just to spend as little time as possible in the resort. Beware of the parking places - they only have few available and it's usual that you won't find any free. This hotel was most likely a cool spot years ago, shame they don't maintain the level you can expect seeing the photos. For that price it's actually rip-off!
