Location and the spacious room. Also, the doughnuts provided in the morning were a bonus (didn't expect them) so thank you!
The carpets, furniture and overall ambience was quite dated. Too much noise from the main road. The noise from traffic, road cleaning etc did not stop until 3 AM and again restarted from 5 AM. Unimpressed by the quality of coffee which often seemed brewed for a very long time.
Room was clean. Had two beds as requested. "Vintage" decor could be interesting? Beds were comfortable enough.
Had booked this room by mistake, called within 10 minutes, they refused to refund. Hotel is on Market, sketchy as Heck, (and I lived in SF for six years a decade ago,) people smoking pot right by the front door. Manager was just like, "well, its legal now". Asked for a quiet room, was given 2nd floor facing Market street where music was blasting until 1:30 am, then noise began again early in the AM. Being able to sleep is kind of the most important part of getting a room. TV only got a couple of blurry channels. For some reason my iphone refused to connect to the wi-fi, but my wife's older phone and my son's Kindle could, probably not the hotel's fault. Breakfast was the cheapest donuts possible (1 per customer) and really bad coffee. Better than nothing?
I love the location of the hotel. I was on the 6th floor and the room was quite. I did not mind having shared bathroom and toilets they were always clean. I did not see a lot of people waiting in lines to use the facilities. I had a great view. No bed bug
If the rooms had a ceiling fan that would be great. Otherwise it was great.
Breakfast was small but tasty, tea and coffee at any time, very secure building, great music in lift and foyer, 2 large beds in room, courteous attentive staff, buses outside the door, train very near
Was a bit tentative about the toilets and shower being shared by the whole floor but it turned out fine
The old man at the desk was a lot of fun! Really convenient to the city
parking was killer, had to spend $40 at a private lot to stay overnight, also had the shared bathrooms and showers, just weird not actually bad quality
