The place is ideally located to discover Reykjavik city, just in the middle of the most attractive places. Room and bathroom were very clean.
the guesthouse is sharing the building of a restaurant and our room was underneath the stairs leading to the staff's lockers room... when you have an idea of night life in Reykjavik you quickly understand that this is a nightmare, in addition to this, the next building is a night club... the location and cleanliness of the building (very center of the city) was the only positive points, but we did not reached our main goal in the guest house, well, obviously ... sleeping. :-)
My interactions with the staff, in particular Hannes, were delightful and very helpful.
The location was convenient, however there is a club located right next door and the customers spilled out until 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. most nights. Since I was staying in the front room and the windows were not sound proof whatsoever, I was often awakened even though I was wearing earplugs. The first night, I stayed in a room on the other side of the building and it was not an issue, so bear this in mind.
The staff was friendly, the location was great for the plans I had and the room was cozy and clean.
The only complaint I have is that the room I stayed in (#6) was closest to the doors to upstairs and the front door. Whenever any guests would exit or enter through one of these doors they would often allow the door to slam shut after, making it very difficult to relax peacefully or take naps at times. If this problem was corrected, I would definitely stay there again.
It was a very comfortable place and conveneiently located. The breakfast next door was fantastic.
Ceiling over our bed leaked and it rained all night. (Room 11)
Noisy due to being very close to downtown. Also the floor board makes sound during night.
