Fair Value
Comfortable. Not overly expensive for Regina
Nothing fancy, just a basic small room. Everything was little thread bare.
Some updated finishes but peeling paint and dirty carpets. The common areas appear to have had much more attention than the individual rooms. Holes in the window screen, burnt out light bulbs, peeling paint in the bathroom, a/c didn't work, key access through side doors disn't work... etc etc
Friendly staff but overpriced
Staff was friendly
Gym was just 3 treadmills in a small room. Overpriced
Nice Place ..
In hotels at least 10 or more times a month - I stayed in a 'queen' single, this time. I usually say " for one room, one night, one person, one bed, no pets, no children, NON smoking, 1st floor, I'd like a king if you have one ' because these are the answers to ALL the questions they ask - BUT for some trained mentality, hotel clerks MUST ask them anyway..Makes you feel like no one listens, ' They were great , courteous, nice, sweet checking in.. It's an old place with fresh paint and some new finishes, but you can tell old bones. In Canada, price value was good since I've stayed in worse places that charged more. There's a nothing fancy restaurant ( Denny's like) and TV / 'beer bar ' attached that's nice having on site.
The flush handle disconnected from whatever it's connected to inside the tank part of my toilet, at maybe 8:30 pm...the guy at the desk says " well, I'm the only one here now...(long pause) I'll get back to you." I say " So, I'm supposed to stay in a room with a toilet that won't flush because you're the only one here?" - I'm not a plumber, so it seemed like a simple fix to have someone come and connect the little chain handle stopper thing - but he said " I'll have to switch your room". So I have to pack and move..they offered NO concession or expression about it. I don't think he even mention it to anyone else because when I checked out - they were surprised I checked out of a different room!! the Queen single room was very small - "standing room only" between the bed and furniture / walls. Not what you'd expect from a place called 'chateau' (FYI means castle in French).
