Excellent 8.8
Pros: The homey feeling, easy to find location, and the breakfast was simple but adequate.
Cons: The temperature in the room was not very consistent. Sometimes it was too hot, other times too cold.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very clean hostel with amazing breakfast. We only stayed one night, but I would come back here anytime. Staff was super helpful and friendly and we could use the kitchen anytime we wanted to prepare something.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Room was large, and bathroom was exceptionally spacious. Public areas also were spacious and well-appointed. Breakfast was good.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Owners were very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Everything was fine
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff is really good, very clean place
Cons: breakfeast could be earlier though, we could not have it as we left for the Isla Magdalena tour. I imagine many guests do that, so it could be adjusted (just a sugestion)
Excellent 9.6
Pros: All staffs were very kind. The room was very clean. There is a supermarket near the hostel.
Cons: It is a little far from the centre. The laundry service is a bit expensive.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Wonderful lounge with a view over the bay. On request you can eat dinner in the hostel, very good food! Excellent value for the money.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owners/staff. Convenient to restaurants and shopping, a bit of a walk but not excessive. Very clean and good beds.
Cons: No
Good 7.1
Pros: Hostel was nice with spacious rooms, TV and Wi-Fi was Ok. Nice breakfast in the morning.
Cons: Location is too far away from downtown.
Good 7.5
Pros: It was clean and reasonably comfortable
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Quiet location, good shower with plenty of hot water, good buffet breakfast
Cons: Creepy, very unsound, stairs and floors make a cracking sound, you can hear the guests next room as if they were directly talking to you, and even as they are speaking in a normal tone of voice, not loud. Some of the staff are not trained enough to deal with extendend bookings appropriately. There are a lack of plates and forks at the breakfast table, I had to go and fetch some everyday in the kitchen myself, because staff was not available. The billing process is insidious and devious, they charge more if you pay in chilean pesos than if you paid with US dollars, because according to them, they have to charge us non residents foreigners a 19% sales tax if we pay in chilean pesos, but not if we pay in US dollars. Now I fully know for a fact that this is pure nonsense, because in reality visitors non residents do not have to pay the sales tax in Chile even if you pay in chilean pesos. I know this for sure because I stayed in lots of other chilean hotels in the past 50 days and never had to pay the 19% sales tax because I am a foreign non resident, and even as I paid in Chilean pesos everytime no other hotel/hostal has ever charged me extra for that. They also charged me US $20.00 extra to wash six items of my clothing, some of them underwear and socks, a ridiculous high amount Then they made the paying process even more cumbersome, I had to fill out an extra form in order to be able to pay in US dollars. Staff should be more adequately trained and ask guests if they wish to stay longer before they rent the room to somebody else.

Excellent 9.2
Pros: Hosts are super nice, warm, welcoming, considerate and accommodating. Lovely people who try to make every effort for their guests to feel at home. Granted, it doesn't have the amenities and convenience of a hotel, but you do feel at home. Everything is clean.
Cons: room not big, bathroom not ensuite. Without the help of Google Translate, non-Spanish speakers may find it hard to communicate properly with the hosts.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Good breakfast. Relaxing atmosphere.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Warm and welcoming- check. Helpful - check. Easy check-in, in and out,etc - check. Comfy bed and good wifi - check. Big breakfast - check. LOVED.
Cons: If anything, at times i felt I was putting them out as they went out of their way to help me.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very nice host, giving very useful explanations about the city. Maps, directions, where to find what. Excellent restaurant recommendation. Thank you for Miriams excellent breakfast and the support in Airport pick up and taxi call.
Cons: ----
Good 7.9
Pros: I reiterate all the positives that everyone else mentioned. It is a true B&B experience with the owners being very attentive. The location is good - near to centre, supermarkets and buses. Room was slightly too cool for me especially overnight when heating is off but plenty of bed blankets.
Cons: The owner spat the dummy when I wanted to catch a taxi to the airport instead of pay him to drive me. So disappointing as he had been a nice man while I had spent three comfortable nights there. But it is my right to spend my money the way I choose. He couldn’t even bring himself to thank me for my stay and payment and he disappeared the morning of my departure. Very childish behaviour. There are no keys to the rooms. This will not bother most but it is a problem when you’ve previously experienced a male intruder. I am not sure this is appreciated.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Excellent location, a stone's throw from the centre, the owners are extremely helpful and warm. They even arranged transport to the airport the next day for us for a better price. Clean and decent breakfast. Wish we could spend more time there
Cons: Basic but Very pleasant stay. We liked everything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Miriam and Manuel truly earn and deserve all the excellent accolades they have been given. I stayed four nights in their "home away from my home" and was exceedingly pleased with accommodations, privacy, the included breakfasts with Miriam's delicious home-baked bread, and the convenient, clean, quiet home they provide for guests...as if they are family---and when my ferry was delayed, and their accommodations were full, they found another hostel for me for the additional night---it was all right, but NOT the same! Miriam and Manuel are wonderful people, and you cannot do better than to stay with them in their cozy home!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The couple were really cute and friendly (and their dog too). You feel like you come home to someone, and they were very helpful. They also had transfer to the airport :) i can really recommend this place!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very cozy B&B, the owners were wonderful and super sweet and helpful. It was warm, very clean and comfy. The breakfast was very good and the location was really nice- off the main square so quiet but easy walkign distance to the restaurants and shops.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: A perfect stay in a warm, comfortable room; new sparkling clean tiny bathroom, wonderfully soft bed linen, excellent WiFi and a very nice and copious breakfast. But most of all, a dear and more than helpful owner! Whatever you need, Carmen will have it or find the answer for it!! Thanks a miilion for a great stay in pleasant Punta Arenas.
Cons: It is a bit far from the center, although feasible on foot, BUT colectivos number 011 stop right by the house door and takes you anywhere in the center for only 500 pesos and you never wait long for them so no problem at all.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: If you are looking for a traditional chilean home, with pieces of history in its decoration and a lovely host, there you are!. My bed was so cozy, also the room's temperature was great. The shower Is PERFECT. The breakfast has yogurt, cereal, coffee or tea, cheese, butter, ham, bread, juice, marmalade, cookies (If you are vegetarian or have some preferences like taking fruits for breakfast, you should tell the host, she gladly will help). If you need a silent room, in the middle of Punta Arenas this Is a really nice deal, acording price/distance. *There Is a corner store and a great place to buy hot sandwiches nearby. *Rooms are upstairs* *you'll be provided with keys for the room/home/fence* *bus stop nearby*
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very pleasant host. Comfortable room. La anfitriona muy amable. Habitación cómodo.
Cons: A little from from the center of town but there are economical taxis. Un poco lejos del centro pero hay taxi económicos.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: This is a cosy bed and breakfast in a local home which is located in a quiet suburb of the town. It was about 30min walk from the bus terminal. Carmen, the owner, was very accommodating. I managed to communicate even with my broken Spanish. She helped me book my airport transfer. I was able to use the kitchen to cook dinner. Breakfast was simple but substantial. My room was really warm and cosy. There is a supermarket about 10min down the main road on foot.
Cons: Perhaps a little far from the town centre. Didn't bother me too much as I only stayed one night but may be an issue for others who stay longer.
Good 7.9
Pros: The hostel is very basic and a bit far from the city center but it is charming and has a lot of detailes. The owner is very-very nice, attentive and helpful. I felt like staying at my grandparent‘s place (in a very positive way). Highly recommended!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The owner of the hostel is so friendly and accommodating. She didn't speak english and we understand only enough to understand basic needs. We arrived at 10.30pm, rushed across the street to get some food and she made us a cup of tea so that we have something to drink with our dinner! One of the best host ever. The place is a house with rooms separated. its nice, warm and cosy. Although noise does travel in this house but so does all hostels. Location is not in the centre of the city but we had a car so it was not an issue.

Pros: Spacious, clean and well equipped apartment. Friendly and helpful personnel. Delicious breakfast.
Cons: Window in sleeping room could not be fully darkened.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Breakfast was brought to the room, bed was very comfortable
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean and tidy
Cons: The water in the shower doesn’t drain.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: It would be grest to have access to a washing machine as all treks will have clothes they would love to wash before next part of journey
Cons: The coffee at breakfast
Good 7.5
Pros: Central location. The main hotel building looks nice from the outside (not so inside).
Cons: Soulless rooms which were not very well equipped (lack of basic stuff in the kitchen). Breakfast starts at 8a.m. which is late for average hotel standards.
Good 7.9
Pros: It was the nicest place we stayed in Chile.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly staff, breakfast
Cons: A lot of dogs in the neighbourhood - barking at night
Excellent 9.6
Pros: It’s clean and well located. You get breakfast in bed! The staff is friendly and helpful.
Cons: The beds were a little uncomfortable
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Responsive staff (called taxis for us, let us check-in and bring back immigration documents later instead of frantically searching at arrival, made restaurant and tour suggestions). Breakfast brought to room.
Cons: Shower was small and water pressure shot the shower head off its holder.

Good 7.9
Pros: Good location and friendly staff
Cons: Breakfast wasn't great and the room was pretty small
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location, clean rooms, beautiful sunrise view, and awesome breakfast!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Nice location right next to the Straight of Magellan. Really nice common spaces with great views. Staff were friendly and helpful with everything and the breakfast was nice, lots of options.
Cons: Location is definitely a bit far from the center of town, nice because it feels a little quieter but a bit of a hike with luggage.
Good 7.5
Pros: Good breakfast, nice view of the sea, staff very kindly
Cons: The cleanless in the room could be much better. Laundry very expensive
Good 7.1
Pros: I would recommend this place for a shared rooms but not for private rooms. The place was clean, warm, with cool common area and with a great breakfast view + choices. The lady at the check in desk was very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: I think I expected more from the reviews on booking. The private family room was very small and pretty cold. Overall it wasn't bad, but definitely the worst accommodation on our "patagonia trip". The breakfast lady could be nicer.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The place was always kept nice and warm with heaters. And above the wonderful breakfast, I have to mention how PERFECT the bathrooms were. Seriously it felt like a hotel - the light, the cleanliness, the mirrors. Bravo.
Cons: The guest food needed to be cleared out of old, rotten food. The bowls in the cupboard were still dirty with dry food remnants.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The hostel is a little bit away from the main town, but it is so worth the walk. The common room is absolutely stunning. The sofas are so comfortable, it's warm and cosy and the view looks out over the Straight of Magellan where you can see dolphins in the mornings and evenings. The kitchen is fully equiped and clean and the breakfast includes eggs, fruit salad, various breads and toppings and waffle machines! So far, it's the best hostel breakfast I've come across in South America in the 5 weeks I've been travelling and easily the best common area and view. The staff are sper friendly and helpful and I was made to feel very welcome. The rooms are typical dorm style, they are warm and clean the beds are comfy.
Cons: The bathroom could do with an upgrade, but the water was always warm and had great pressure. The rest is so nice that it's easily worth the slightly out of date showers.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Really friendly and helpful staff. Hostel was very warm and cosy with a great common area and kitchen facilities. Wifi was strong.
Cons: Rooms were a little small once we had two backpacks in there but we only stayed two nights so it was easy enough to manage.
Good 6.3
Pros: Overall- staff behaviour and ambiance.
Cons: Though the location was scenic, no amenities within a radius of 2 kms. Basic breakfast, somedays essentials were not replaced, there would be a scarcity of space in the beautiful lounge area when rooms are full to capacity, minor details were missing which could improve the quality of stay! Oh! no wardrobe- some improvised wall hangers made of iron wires. To sum it up - an average hostel! Nothing exceptional about it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast is the best one of all hostels in Patagonia. Is spotesly clean and very good organized. Common area as well the best one that i have in Patagonia.
Cons: Location is bit far away.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Deceiving from the outside but modern and beautiful decorated. Highly recommend this property.
Cons: We loved it, we wish our stay was longer.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We were very impressed with these cabins - the location is pretty much walking distance to everything, which is nice. The cabins are beautifully appointed, with every amenity in the bathroom, including a shower that converts to a rainforest shower head. The kitchen contains a small fridge, microwave, stove top, and electric kettle, along with plates, cutlery, etc. Beds are comfy, wifi is good, and there is a cable TV. We were able to park our tall vehicle inside a security gate, which is always a priority for us. The manager was extremely responsive, even allowing us to check in at 10:30pm when we had to take a late ferry from Porvenir.
Cons: The cabin does not have an oven, which we usually love to use when we stay in places, but we understand why. The only other issue was very minor, and involved a very sensitive motion-sensor light that kept going on during the night when windy, which shone into our bedroom window.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very central location so we could walk everywhere we wanted/needed to go. Secure private parking with no height restriction. Very well-appointed rooms and comfortable bed. Good wifi. Very responsive manager - we were able to check in at 10:30pm after arriving on the late ferry.
Cons: Probably the only annoying thing, and it’s minor, is that we stayed in a cabin that faced another cabin, which had a movement-activated light on the front porch. Our bedroom had a window d]facing this light, so it shone inside whenever the light turned on, which was a lot - it seemed a bit sensitive, especially with the crazy wind.

Excellent 9.6
Pros: Proprietor was very helpful booking restaurant and cab rides.

Pros: Good
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Staff was very friendly, helping to book a tour to see the penguins in the area.
Cons: Paying cash to avoid paying VAT seems wrong to me. Why should paying VAT be applied with one payment method or another. Maybe its just the Chilean laws that I do not understand.
Good 6.3
Pros: The location is great
Cons: The room was cold, the radiator wouldn't turn on
Good 6.7
Pros: Staff was really nice, so good advices of places to eat and places to see in the city, and good Wi-Fi
Cons: Too much noise around all day and early in the morning, we were room number 1, next to the steps, and you can hear everything, even the room next to us
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Quiet quaint hostel on street with little traffic. Cemetery is only one block away and the city plaza is about a fifteen minute walk. Really enjoyed the breakfast spread.
Cons: The hostel is an older building therefore has it has more to say. Anyone going up and down the stairs mad a lot of noise.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Super cute, small room that got the job done.
Cons: The shower was broken and flooded the bathroom.
Okay 5.8
Pros: WiFi was good. Breakfast was good
Cons: Bit run down. Quite a far walk from downtown
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Very comfortable and warm beds. Staff were helpful and friendly. Fairly good kitchen facilities and decent breakfast provided - they also offer snack packs if you need to leave before breakfast time.
Cons: The walls were quite thin in the rooms - the couple in the room next to us were arguing and we had to ask them to be quite as we could hear every word!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely place with a bed and breakfast feel. Staff were really helpful with information and organising tours. Warm rooms and comfy beds

Good 7.9
Pros: Terrific bed!
Cons: There was noise next door during the entire night.
Good 7.5
Pros: Super helpful and smiley staff. Great giant bed and nice en-suite.
Cons: The pillows were not clean. There were small hairs all over the bedding. The smell was not fresh (with the exception of the bed sheet, which was clean). I consider clean pillows essential. And loads of hair on the shower wall.

Pros: Staff was good
Cons: Location is pretty far from center and has a long ascension to get to the hostel

Pros: It is clean and staff was very nice and accommodating.
Cons: It’s old and near a busier street with traffic.

Pros: Well located for both the town centre and the airport. Large, modern bathroom.
Cons: Room was cramped.
Good 7.1
Pros: Actually we arrived to Hostel Cordilliera and were told that there is no place there and we are moved to Hostal Hielo Sur located c.a. 200 m from Hostel Cordililera. So the opinion is about new location.
Cons: We did not have places in hotel in original location but had to move to new one.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hostel is very cosy and clean. The personnel was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty: good coffee, yogurt, eggs, cheese, jam, cereals etc. I felt myself like at home!
Mediocre 3.3
Pros: There was nothing special that I liked about Hostal Cordillera
Cons: As the room facilities were far below the specifications provided by Booking.com website, we were asking for clarification to the receptionist (we showed him the website details also) as it was nothing but cheating. He mentioned that he would get clarification from his boss. But even after repeated requests, he did not allow us to speak to his boss. The facility was managed (both lodging and boarding) by two persons (including receptionist) only. Both were not able to understand English. The Breakfast was also not upto the mark. We explained that we are "Vegetarian" and there are very few vegetarian items. So at least some fresh fruits should be arranged. But the same was also not provided. There was no shuttle service (on chargeable basis also) available.
Okay 4.2
Pros: Good breakfast.
Cons: We informed ahead of time that we would arrive late. We had booked 2 rooms. One for 4 and 1 for 5. They needed to set up an additional bed in one of the rooms but it wasn’t ready. When they tried to make the bed out of a sofa, this one was broken and they offered to changed us to another room for an extra 120 USD. After much complain (at 2:00 AM) they finally put us in another room for free. Personnel is unprepared and unprofessional.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We had to wake up earlier than expected for our flight. They were able to accommodate us with breakfast and a taxi that was right on time.
