The location was great. Required valet parking was a necessity in the area, and it was very convenient, although not free. The lobby was lovely, the concierge very helpful, and service at the bar quite good. The room was very comfortable; do ask for an upper floor. Our view was of the inner courtyard, which was lovely, and very quiet.
Having recently stayed at a hotel in Bar Harbor which was superb, this hotel suffered a bit. There was only one elevator from the lobby to the upper floors, and the wait could be very long. There was a pantry on every floor, with coffee available in the morning; if one is going to provide a pantry, coffee should be available (Keurig or Nescafe or both) 24/7. Fruit during the day and cookies in the evening in the pantry are always appreciated, but not present here. We did not eat breakfast or dinner at the hotel, but enjoyed the courtyard very much.
Location was nice - housekeeping was very friendly and accommodating.
The hotel is extremely loud. You can hear people in other rooms and hear every word of conversations from the courtyard outside - until midnight! Have to haul your own luggage to your room. Complimentary coffee they promise wasn’t set up half the time.
This was our favorite hotel of our 11-night vacation. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Decor is classy - nautical without being overboard. The staff was polite and helpful. They even helped us freeze our gel packs to take home lobster on the plane, and TWICE when we forgot a phone in the car, the valet realized it and had it brought to the front desk for us before we even caught the mistake. There are many extras included at the hotel (wish we had realized this right away) like turn-down service with slippers, water and chocolates, free Starbucks on each floor in the morning (including hot chocolate with real milk), newspapers, baggage storage, concierge, in and out parking, etc. There is a nice restaurant/lounge there but we didn't use.
The elevators are slow and you have to switch to go down to parking - but this is picky because we loved the hotel. I just wished the staff would have told us about the turn-down service. When they arrived at our room about 8:30pm we had actually just crawled into bed (early flight) so missed the pampering!
Location good for walking to restaurants and waterfront
We were in room 323 and the disco music from the building outside was so loud on Friday and Saturday and night that we could hear it blaring and thumping over the television in our room. This continued will into the morning hours. Shower floors needed cleaning.
Location is perfect! Can easily check out any area.
