9.0 Excellent
Pros: The food choice was fantastic with almost every need taken into consideration for example there was a specific stand purely for gluten free which was made very clear.
Cons: The bed and pillows I found to be very uncomfortable however one persons needs are not always the same as another. Hard to please everyone. The food in the restaurant I felt could have been a lot hotter than it was.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, wonderful staff and beautiful property.
Cons: Few things to note, we were awakened by a lot of furniture movement in the morning, as we were on the first floor, room 15. Second, there was some difficulty understanding how to operate the thermostat in the room. Most likely our issue but just something to keep in mind when trying to make sure you can adjust the heat appropriately when needed. Third item, there were a lot of little dead gnats in the ceiling light in the bathroom. All-n-all the stay was great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was my birthday on the 10th November l received a lovely gift from the hotel staff very thoughtful
Cons: Everything Breakfast was enjoyable
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was perfect
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast with lots of variety. Rooms are spacious. Staff is very friendly, especially Pedro!
Cons: Nothing regarding the hotel itself, but Portimão is run down and dilapidated. This hotel is one of the best on the boardwalk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with fun restaurants nearby. Very nice rooms. Staff was kind and informative.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Lots of choices for breakfast. Lots of restaurants in area. Close to beach!
Cons: Only complaint is- we had a sea view room, but there was a huge video screen right across the street that played 24/7. If you have a sea view room ask to be on a floor higher then 3!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast buffet. Room was spacious, clean and modern with a kitchenette and balcony. The bed was large and comfortable.
Cons: Some of the staff were a little unfriendly. The television in the room could have been bigger. The dinner buffet at the hotel is not worth the price.

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Pros: Very good hotel, excellent breakfast buffet which offered different fresh juices, eggs, pancakes, fruits. Room very clean!!! The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walking distance from city center. Also available is shuttle service to Praia da Rocha. Very good location for exploring Algarve. Car garage costs us 6 EUR/day. I recommend this hotel.
Cons: A bit of noise during the night, since the marina view rooms are very close to a very busy road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we went to atlantico several times and had fab meals
7.9 Good
Pros: Its equidistant between the beach and the old town center.
Cons: Breakfast was good , no complaints. A top class restaurant for evening meals would be desirable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is great, with good views and convienence of being between two towns within easy walking distance. Delux rooms offer best views.
Cons: Room cleaning was always very late in the day, which meant being disturbed by staff having retired to the room having been out all day. It is a very minor thing bit quite disruptive when trying to rest/relax.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Needs a clothes horse on balcony to hang wet towels etc.
Hotel Oriental - Adults Only - Portimão - Building

9.0 Excellent (1,183 reviews)

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a very good location at Rocha beach. The room was large and offered a beautiful balcony with frontal sea view, that was wonderful. the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: All fine - only one remark that the instant coffee at breakfast should be completed by proper coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room very large and w/superb view of the sea. Good dinner and breakfast services. Staff very pro.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Location The staff was generally nice , but when it came to solving an issue they turned out to be stubborn and incapable
Cons: The room was not clean - there was a huge spider net just above the bed. The bathroom was not clean - I have a feeling the hotel either has not enough cleaning personnel or they are lazy. The bed was very uncomfortable- There was a polyethylene underlay on the mattress so you keep sweating the whole night regardless of the temperature. I can imagine that these underlays can be used in “hourly hotels” but not in a four start hotel. We booked the half-board, which was a huge mistake. The food during dinner was very fett, so there was almost nothing I could eat. Decided to try a chicken - it was with blood. At the end both me and my husband as stomach problems during the night. The next day we asked the personnel whether it’s possible to skip the second dinner and get money back. After an hour of unpleasant discussion we finally managed to get a refund. However on the next day at check out it was again a problem to actually get the money back with excuses “we don’t have cash in the cashier” or “the card payment machine doesn’t work”. Was very annoying.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel by the sea front, with a wonderful balcony. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was also great. 65" LCD TV was a good surprise. Champagne in the room because it was part of the honeymoon stay. The restaurant was good not so much because of the quantity but more because of the quality.
Cons: The swimming pool was not so big but who really cares when you have a marvelous beach with clean waters in front of you.
7.9 Good
Pros: Stunning seaview ( room 206 ) .Breakfast was ok.Hotel is well decorated .we might return .very friendly welcome at reception.
Cons: Dinnerbuffet , we used dinnerbuffet 6 nights , tasted very bland most of the days.On the way home we stayed at sisterhotel Eva Senses in Faro and the dinnerbuffet there was much better ! If we return it would be on bed and breakfast basis .Barservice outside in daytime was slow , sometimes they did not take orders and we had to go inside to ask for a drink.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The pool is great, rooms are very nice as well. The staff is very helpful all the time.
Cons: I believe it was the first time ever a hotel charged me for the coffee in the room. Even "low cost" hotels have it complementary.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Lovely walks through the marina and beach. No lifts though, so if mobility a problem ask for ground floor. They upgraded for grandparents to have a ground floor which was great. Rooms where clean and house keeping was wonderful everyday.
Cons: Beware of movie Channels as they charge $10E per movie even if you just click into it. Grandfather was not aware and got charged for three unwatched movies.
4.6 Okay

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The amazing landscape around and the peace you get with it.
Cons: Breakfast could be more local oriented. English breakfast I would prefer to have in England ;) Not having a jogging route through the nice landscapes without conflicting with the Golf
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent hotel, extremely quiet and very pleasant all round.
Cons: Nothing really, it suited me perfectly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Space Cleanliness View Price
Cons: Mattress protectors Wi-fi
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from our balcony was great, the size of the room exceeded our expectations, the facilities were very modern, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very complete and varied (our favourite things were the omelette station and the nespresso machine!). We were on our honeymoon and the hotel surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine and some strawberries with chocolate, which was a lovely gesture.
Cons: Even though the hotel was quiet in general, we could hear the people in the room next to us. This hotel would be absolutely perfect if it wasn't for this
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Had a short stay it was nice easy to access.
Cons: Nothing, didn’t stay long enough to fault it if there was any.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Golf
Cons: Rooms are rubbish... aircon broken... single beds
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Out in the countryside so very peaceful. Excellent room, shower, food at dinner, breakfast, parking! Bed and pillows best of any hotel we’ve ever stayed in! Staff very friendly and helpful- nothing too much trouble for them.
Cons: Cannot fault anything.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice relaxing hotels and golf courses but nothing else on offer
Cons: Lacking amenities, place was full but no entertainment, refreshments were very expensive...golf reception were not very helpful.only one bar open at a time and very busy . Golf good but organisation poor ,ladies dont dring heels due to uneven paths and cobbles.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and limited parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were brilliant. We arrived late and the guy treated us with the right mix of being friendly without keeping us up longer than necessary. It set the tone for the week, everyone was great, breakfast was good, and a good spot as it was a little quieter than being nearer portimao main town.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. There are pleasant terraces to sit and read and drink wine in the evenings! It’s only a few minutes walk to some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, and there are plenty of local restaurants. Also the tourist hop-on hop-off bus stops close by which is a very useful way to get about the area - this is how I discovered Alvor, which is really worth a visit. It’s a charming, quiet place, perfect for total relaxation.
Cons: Everything was great!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Your breakfast was fine, a good amount of choice and plenty of food.
Cons: he dining room was a bit cramped round the hot drink machines.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beaches nearby were amazing In general variery at breakfast was good Bed very comfy and shutter for balcony offers extra security
Cons: More remote than i anticipated but its not a bad thing, just be prepared for a walk for dinner etc Hair in the bed and food at breakfast one morning Charging €3 minimum per item for the laundry service is laughable, fair to say i didn't use it
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room and bathroom clean and new. Good breakfast. Amable staff.
Cons: Actually the only reason that I've booked the room and in particular this hotel was the "sea view" in the description. I have to say that the hotel is not on the beach, you don't see the ocean from the rooms or the hall. If you want to go to the beach is 10 minutes walking, but the streets you have to do are not so nice.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The interior
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is great, and the stuff is very kind.
Cons: A little bit unusual thing for me with, something like, common showers that do not have doors. Though, there is one private.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was pretty good, close to the bus station from where you can get a bus to the beaches from the south of Portimao. Train station even closer, which is good if you come by train. Place is clean and has 2 bathrooms, we had the 2 beds room with balcony. Kitchen available if you want to eat in, with all amenities included. A/c was good and we had two small lockers for our stuff. Was not crowded when we were there so we didn't feel that we were in a hostel. Around it there are lots of small shops for souvenirs/clothes/farmacy/groceries/minimarkets/restaurants and walking distance to the mall (about 10-15min).
7.9 Good
Pros: The area
Cons: The noise
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, clean rooms and good price!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very well located, just in front of the beach; Perfect for some vacations with small children because beach and pool are perfect to entertain them. If this is not enough, there is also a small park for them to play;
Cons: Buildings are a bit old and an overall remake of the apartments would be advised; Even though cooking is possible, if you want to eat out, there are some restaurants nearby but a wider variety would require some sort of transportation;
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very Clean place. Inside pool very good condition.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very spacious and clean - excellent location.
Cons: The pilow was too soft and unconfortable to me, and I am sure it would be changed in case we complained, but as it was only 1 night stand I didn't. It was quite noisy early in the morning, I believe this is because the bedroom was on the ground floor, facing the main road.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: I liked the location of the property. Beyond that there was little to like.
Cons: This aparthotel needs to have a major renovation. It’s at least 25 years overdue. The inside of the room was not only severely dated, it was dirty and uncomfortable. The master bed mattress was so thin and barren that I got poked with springs all night long. The pull out sofa bed with its 3 inch thick mattress my 5-year-old slept on was actually more comfortable. My kids feet were black if they didn’t wear their shoes in the room. There were black hairs behind the bathroom door (we are blondes and brunettes), a giant hairball in the kitchen. There were no toiletries, the washer/dryer barely worked (I had to hang every piece of laundry I washed), no detergent to wash any dishes we used. The walls of the room were paper thin and we could hear road noise and the 11 pm dumpster pick up like it was in the room with us. The WiFi signal was unreliable and weak. The main pool was frigid and the most shallow point as over 5ft deep. My kids are great swimmers, but the pool wasn’t enjoyable because they couldn’t touch anywhere and we were told no floats were allowed. They did have two kiddie pools but they were tiny and only 1.5 ft deep., which weren’t much fun for the 8 and 9 year olds. We had breakfast on site once, and that was enough. The food was not good. We also ate at the pool bar one afternoon. We sat down at 11:58 and the waiter promptly told us they didn’t serve lunch until 12. I said that is only two minutes away, so I think we can wait. Well, the food again wasn’t good and the whole process took 2 hours!! Ridiculous amount of time for chicken nuggets and burgers to be served and eaten. Overall the hotel was run down, uncomfortable and unfriendly. I would look elsewhere. Conversely we stayed at Martinhal Chiado aparthotel while in Lisbon and it was outstanding. Clean, awesome service, comfortable. Wish we would have chosen their Sagres location for the second half of our trip.
7.5 Good
Cons: No aircon. And no washing machine, on booking it said we should have...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and well laid out
Cons: The beds were a little uncomfortable

Pros: One of my best tour in europe , is Portimao. The 3 days stay at sao roque, was amazing . I would like to thank Isabella for her friendly behavior (who was in the front desk as well as handling all the situations). The staffs were very friendly and supportive and i came to know some of the best beaches of portimao from them. Benagil tour is also possible from portimao by boat. They welcomed us with a free drinks . The room has enough space and clean. breakfast was good. Definitely recommendable. Thanks Madhuparna & Goutam
8.8 Excellent
Pros: hotel owners Isabel and antonio excellent lost my passport which they found would have spent the holiday replacing it, breakfast was continental all you could eat and drink, room compact but clean and tidy with maid service every day to make bed change towels. as the hotel is in a residential area could get noisy early evening but would quieten down later, short walk to pingo supermarket with harbour cafes and shops also bus info office very handy weather great
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of the management.
8.6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is owned by a family who also live in the hotel. They are always available to help and offer any services that they can. They first helped us find a place to eat when we arrived late. Then they borrowed us free beach towels ( and offered free umbrellas, chairs, and beach paddles), allowed us to use their printer, and were overall excellent hosts. Breakfast was nice bread, meat, and cheese and was very good (best free breakfast we have received while in Europe). The room was very clean and nice enough condition. I absolutely would stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant place to stay at. Staff is exceptionally kind and informative. We came after the midnight and we are offered with a welcome drink, which is a small but very effective gesture. Hotel is older, but very clean. They clean room and change towels every day. Wi-fi works well. Hotel is placed in the quiet neighborhood, on the walking distance from beach and city center. There is a supermarket near hotel too. If you have moderate expectations, this place will be great for you.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts, good location quite near to the Praia da Rocha and bus stops. They serve nice and cheap breakfast. The rooms are almost fully equipped. The hosts are very helpful and fulfill every wish.
Cons: High stairs without elevator. There is no fridge in the rooms.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very simple and a very good value. Very quiet!
Cons: A bit old.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: + really nice and helpful host + comfortable bed + breakfast for 2 € (it's simple stuff but you won't even get it cheaper in the supermarket)
Cons: - it was quite loud there so I had troubles falling asleep - the bathroom isn't very appealing

Pros: The hotel still has an old style elegance. The breakfast buffet is great. The rooms each have a Nespresso machine, only remember to bring your preferred capsules as choice is limited. The staff are friendly and attentive. The Championship course still challenges all but the best of golfers.
Cons: Watch out for the wine list, which is not accurate, especially if you are a stickler for a particular vintage.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great massages. Great pool. Tranquil and friendly. 4th time here- we love it!
Cons: Pool and pool bar shutting before sunset
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice pool , lovely grounds , nice waiting staff in the dining room ., helpful room service , had to request for a kettle .
Cons: Staff could be abrupt and not very helpful on reception , didn’t really want to help so I didn’t feel that they treated myself and family with any enthusiasm and didn’t take any interest in our vacation .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The surroundings, the terraces, the restaurants
Cons: Not easy access to the coast
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast - Great Staff - Fantastic
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had liked everything! Starting from the kind staff, even if yong, the superior food quality and serving as it should be in a 5 star hotel, ending in the exterior areas extremely well care, and the comfort of the room. There couldn’t be more fantastic than it was. All the people help when necessary, assisted when attended. Weather was also perfect and help to create memorable moments but it wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t the good management and training to the yong staff. Thanks. Looking forward to return.
Cons: Some minor faults from yong staff, however we cannot judge the entire facility because of it.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was very good
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Vey friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of choice at breakfast
Cons: nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic property both inside and out. Lovely pool area, clean open rooms. I would highly recommend a “sea view” room. Free parking outside. A full supermarket about 5 mins walk away.
Cons: It was just a little bit a of a walk from the village of Alvor, about 10 minutes if you walk fast. We were a couple, I wouldn’t like to be a family without a car bringing all your bag and baggage (and kids) down to the beach. Also one thing which I thought was really annoying. I spent ages trying to turn on the oven in the room to no avail. I read the booklet back to front in the room and it just gave instructions for the hob (which didn’t work either). My last resort was to ring reception to which I got “Did you pay?” .... very confused I reply “Did I pay for what?” To which I got a snide reply of “You must pay 3euro per day to use the oven”. To be honest it’s not entirely the fact that you have to pay for the oven, (We are in another hotel now for the next part of our stay and the oven works for free!) it was more that no where in any of the literature does it say or was it mentioned at check in that you must pay for the oven. Such a silly thing to leave a bad taste in my mouth after our Lovely stay.

Pros: Location and reception area are good.
Cons: Dated, poor breakfast and in-room facilities.

Pros: I liked the scenic beach view that my verandah had and that continental breakfast could be delivered to the room at no extra cost. There was a safe in the room.
Cons: Some of the wooden fixings on the furniture needed a little repair. The minibar was so warm the items would have been too warm to enjoy.

Pros: Location only
Cons: The welcome and staff at reception, dated rooms, no instant hot water in bathroom, overcrowded breakfast room,

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Good location, all you can eat sushi place across the street, nice living room, staff were lovely and helpful, almost like a shared apartment more than a hostel.
Cons: Rooms were super hot and the bunks and pillows were super uncomfortable. Bathrooms were dirty and smelled like urine most of the time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very spacious hostel, nice host.
Cons: When we arrived the WC was dirty and the garbage bucket in the kitchen was full.
7.5 Good
Pros: Vasco is very hospitable person. He is very nice and welcoming. Place is realy beautiful - the decor is well thought out. The location is great - old city. You can park your car for free near the stadium.
Cons: The bathroom and the kitchen was dirty almost all the time (we were there for 3 nights). I think this is because of persons who use it, not the owner... But this is a problem that needs to be solved.

Pros: Both the check-in and check-out processes went smoothly. The room was clean and everything was neatly prepared. The bed was also quite comfortable. Breakfast could have been a bit better but it was still quite good.

Pros: There are staff cleaned the room. So, fresh towel and cleaned room. Good value of money if you do not mind abit of noise from others guests. 5 minutes walk to mini bus stop . 15 minutes to the praia rocha beach or 25 minutes to Alvor . Hotel right in the center (10 minutes to Portimao train station ). Oh, Public transport is not that often. (no train after 7pm from Faro airport! Taxi is very expensive if you are solo traverller). Happy travelling !!
Cons: Sounds proof is not great. I could hear other guests talking and footsteps etc..

Also available is shuttle service to Praia da Rocha. Very good location for exploring Algarve. Car garage costs us 6 EUR/day. I recommend this hotel.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Needs a clothes horse on balcony to hang wet towels etc.

Pros: The amazing landscape around and the peace you get with it.
Cons: Breakfast could be more local oriented. English breakfast I would prefer to have in England ;) Not having a jogging route through the nice landscapes without conflicting with the Golf

Pros: An excellent hotel, extremely quiet and very pleasant all round.
Cons: Nothing really, it suited me perfectly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Space Cleanliness View Price

Cons: Cannot fault anything.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice relaxing hotels and golf courses but nothing else on offer
Cons: Lacking amenities, place was full but no entertainment, refreshments were very expensive...golf reception were not very helpful.only one bar open at a time and very busy . Golf good but organisation poor ,ladies dont dring heels due to uneven paths and cobbles.
