Ponta Delgada (Açores) hostels

Pros: From the second I arrived, the staff was just incredibly friendly and I knew that this was going to be an amazing trip. Little did I know this would become one of my best stays at not only a hostel, but in general! The breakfast is better than most restaurants, the family dinners are delicious, the staff is just so warm and welcoming, the tours are fantastic and can be altered to suit the island's unpredictable weather. In addition to Out of the Blue having great facilities, I have to also mention that this hostel attracts an awesome group of people because all the fellow guests I met during my stay were so fun, open-minded and genuinely great people. I would 100% recommend and hope I can return again in the future!

Pros: Staff extremely friendly! Didn't realise it was a hostel but was a great surprise. Made some good friends! They have a day time tour activity and dinner at the hostel for a very affordable price. Would definitely recommend and come back here! Breakfast was amazing and the garden is super peaceful :D

Pros: The hostel is very well organized, the atmosphere is great and it is located close to the center. They offer dinners and guided tours at the hostel (hiking tours with Lidia are highly recommend!) which is a great way to meet nice people. The breakfast in the garden is outstanding, as well as the staff! Thanks to everyone who made my stay unforgettable.

Pros: The staff is amazing, the hospitality and kindness they give you is utmost sincere. They really made me feel at ease, they're one by one interesting persons who found their way to the island and love it even more than you're going to do when you'll visit. If you're not into socialising, that's cool too. The talks, the food, the drinks the company.. Better than I could've imagined. I was going to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 5. I'll return someday, even if it's just for the incredible pancakes and coffee. Hopefully you're all doing fine during these crazy times. Thanks again.

Pros: My friend and I stayed at Out of the Blue for three days and we had the absolute best experience. When we first checked in, Andre welcomed us warmly and gave us a thorough tour of the property. Our room was clean, spacious and beautifully designed (we had a room with a private bathroom). The shared kitchen was organized and inviting, with labels and baskets provided for guests to organize their own food and drinks. There was even a lounge area attached with plenty of seating and a television. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast in the gardens of the property with pancakes, yogurt and granola, coffee, tea and fresh juice. Plus they have their own chefs who prepare a special dish each morning in addition to everything I just listed. They are beyond hospitable and clear your plates and cutlery after each meal. We felt like we were royalty. Breakfast was included in the room rate. Lunch and dinner are also provided at the accommodation for an additional charge. 5€ for lunch and 12€ for dinner (with the exception being Friday dinners costing 15€; you get to build your own pizzas). Each meal is served with wine or sangria. It is a lovely gathering where the staff and guests have an opportunity to socialize. The outdoor grounds are gorgeous! There is a small pool and sun bathing area, a hammock and lounge chairs, a fire pit and lots more. We highly recommend this accommodation as it is unlike any we’ve ever experienced. They treat you like family and we can’t wait to return!

Pros: Great base location, modern renovated historic building with parking, right next to fantastic garden. 24/7 front desk staff, super cheap accommodation, handy to farm market for great local food and wine which you can bring back and use their kitchen to prepare your own food if you like. Great eco-friendly place. Spotlessly clean, many great lounge areas, church bells and birds to wake you up in the morning. Great facility.

Pros: Very nice room with comfortable bed for very good price. Bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was ok. Locations is good- close to shopping center- 5min; 8 min to historical center.

Pros: Staff was really friendly, easy check-in payment process, great location to the center area which was decorated with Christmas lights and pretty. Could walk to the center very easily from the location.

Pros: Like all other Pousadas in Açores, it has a nice warm and comfy vibe, good and clean conditions and nice staff.

Pros: I was only in the hostel for maybe 6 hours, I showed up late and had another plane to catch the next morning. Check in was quick and easy, the host was very friendly.
