10.0 Excellent
Pros: Short walk to centre of town and bike shop; great facilities; bike store in basement, with drying room; continental breakfast was good; staff very helpful.

The drying room was a bonus and there were numerous tools available to make repairs. The rooms were immaculate with excellent space and hot showers. USB ports were also available on our bunk beds

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely large room which had a great selection of tea/coffee and treats! The bathroom was modern, clean and spacious. The breakfast was fantastic!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was well considered and well arranged. Our room was really comfortable, it had a wonderful bay window overlooking an interesting park on a quiet street. The room came with a great array of goodies to try, like home made fresh chocolate biscuits and fruit, and surprises all around the room. The staff were super helpful and took great care to welcome and explain their home and room. The couple clearly work hard to make their guests feel like Royal guests. We had a family room each with a separate bed. We also had a sofa and space in both the room and the bathroom. My father raved on and on about the professional level of food preparation and the ultra fresh fruit on offer with the breakfast. This guest house should be top of your preferences to stay in Penrith, because it is so central, yet so quiet and handy too. We enjoyed our short stay and cannot fault the standards and offer on any level.
Cons: I did not like the fact we paid the same price elsewhere on our trip for a far lower standard. Other guest houses will struggle to match the Albany's excellence. Perhaps the only thing I did not warm to were the pictures of Tuscan countryside houses adorning the walls on my Cumbrian adventure. They did bring sun and colour to the rooms, but my point is that they perhaps celebrated the beauty of other places rather than stunning Penrith and it's beautiful surroundings. I found that funny.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation had a warm, spacious and homely feel and Pru,the guest house owner, was most welcoming and accommodating, even giving us a lift to our wedding venue. The breakfast was wonderful and hearty on a cold December weekend, with plenty of choice. Pru was exceedingly attentive and nothing was too much trouble- thank you. We will be back to explore the area further.
Cons: Minor improvement would be if the bathroom door in our family bathroom could be adjusted- just needs a new catch.

Pros: Fantastic location and great scenery
Cons: Bed was too hard for my liking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late after work to find the chef had stopped until we arrived to cook us something tasty. The hotel manager on shift was attentive and even secured the phone in the morning for me to receive a work call. The hotel itself is superb, really nicely decorated, great drinks selection and the bed was really comfy! We opted to have breakfast the next day which was amazing and once again found all the staff to be exceptional. Thank you for making our stay so great.
Cons: I genuinely cannot fault my stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and lots of character. In winter, with Haweswater full, the view is at its best in many ways. The road outside is very quiet so it is ideal for a pre dinner amble.
Cons: Lack of real ale, just nitrokeg and bottles. Would have liked more bacon and eggs at breakfast.

Pros: The hotel is full of character with clean rooms, bar, restaurant and backed up with very friendly and accommodating staff. Great place to break up the journey to Scotland, would definitely stay here again!! Great breakfast as well!
Cons: Make sure you ask and are clear where the hotel parking is especially if arriving at night as can be hard to find.

4.6 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Food , small room , view of roofs , constant bell chimes , reception attendant didn’t tell me there was a code required to get out of the car park , didn’t even say goodbye . Evening bar service was ok but steak was tough and gristly . Not top of the list to return but at least it wasn’t far to get to a costa .

Pros: Old fashioned hotel, friendly staff, good food, cheerful fires burning, newspapers available to sit with in the bar, lovely & comfortbale chairs in the foyer area, good fire exits outside our windows

Pros: worked
Cons: difficulty in finding car park
6.4 Good
Pros: Attractive decor downstairs, room clean albeit very small, good clean bathroom with good shower, good quality products used in the breakfast, even the tea was good, unlike a lot of hotels in England. Having a free car park is a bonus.
Cons: Some of the upstairs decor was a bit unusual, and the door to my room was shabby, which undermined the superb appearance of the ground floor decor.
