A bit to small room.
Absolutely lovely staff.
Firstly, I'd requested that the two rooms I'd booked three months earlier be close to each other, but they were unfortunately on separate floors (which wasn't too much of a problem). They were also drastically different in terms of size and condition, despite being the same price (there was barely enough space to place both my carry on bag and suitcase in my room unfortunately, whereas the other room was far more spacious and had a proper area to hang coats and clothes). My room on the fourth floor didn't have working WiFi, and the sink in the bathroom would clog while washing my face. There were also holes in the bathroom wall and stains on the wall and carpet in the bedroom area. I'd have just chalked this down to a bad experience and tried to forget about it but for one thing: when I went to bed on the final evening I discovered that the room had bed bugs, and the hotel unfortunately didn't seem to have a procedure in place to deal with this. I was moved to a different room (which was even smaller and didn't have the same facilities I'd paid for, but was much, much cleaner), and had to ask for plastic bags so that I could try to check my luggage for bugs and seal everything in the bags before travelling home. I didn't sleep at all that night on account of having to check and bag every item of luggage alone, and then the anxiety of there being bugs in the new room (which was above my original room). I threw out a number of items of luggage as I couldn't be sure if they weren't infested or not, and I really, really didn't want to risk bringing any bugs back home with me as they are an absolute nightmare to get rid of. The staff were very lovely as I say and this wasn't their fault at all, but this was a horrifying and costly experience, with no kind of compensation offered and no procedure in place to deal with the bugs.
