Nice staff. Liked the courtyard... a nice escape from the outside.
Didn’t feel safe to walk around at night as a woman. The room was really quite dirty. Someone’s boxers on the floor, deflated mattress in the corner, dust everywhere. Had to ask for new sheets which is acceptable to me but wasn’t what I expected. The spray painted tour Eiffel in the room was quite tasteless but oh well.
The location is good for anyone coming straight from the Eurostar for instance, as I did. Having a sink in the room was odd, but welcome.
This place is cheap for a reason. The room was as basic as basic can get, aside from the sink. Lockers would have been nice, but instead there is simply a storage room where you can put your bag - This is open to everyone, so unless you bring a bike lock or chain etc, there's nothing to stop any random person from stealing your stuff. Fortunately I think most people who stay here are good honest folk. I have no idea what the situation with the key for the rooms was about. It seems like each room has one key, which is given to one person, and so in my case it just meant our room was open all the time. Very strange place.
The hostel is near the metro. There's a sink inside the room of 4 in 1.
It is too small, my room was small.
Dust mites are biting hard...needs treatment..
The hostel was awful and filthy. The beds were uncomfortable and didn’t have any real pillows or bedding, just a plain sheet. The kitchen was always messy with food scraps and mouldy dishes in the sink. The showers were awful, with clogged drains that would overflow while you washed. The bedroom floors looked to have been never cleaned, same for the bathroom, however the worst thing of all were the toilets. For the duration of my stay all of the toilets were backed up and overflowing with human waste (yep, all of the disgusting things that come out of a human were flowing out of the toilets) which meant the whole hostel stunk and the bathrooms were swimming with toxic waste. This, along with the lack of public toilets in Paris, meant that none of us staying in the hostel could go to the toilet during our stay. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful enough but the location of the hostel, as a single female traveller, was genuinely scary, with drunks outside the doors day and night. It felt a very unsafe environment and so I avoided being outside after dark. Though the hostel was very affordable I would strongly discourage anyone from ever booking here. Since leaving yesterday I’ve been very unwell which I believe is to do with the state of the hostel and the toilets. I’ve attached some photos however will leave out any of the toilets as no one needs to witness that. I will be asking to be reimbursed for my stay due to the unfit living conditions.
