Would have loved a small fridge
There could be no better location to step out the front door and walk anywhere in the French Quarter. Cafe du Monde is less than a 5 minute walk passing through Jackson Square and many shops. Preservation Hall is just few blocks away along with bourbon street. There’s a lovely restaurant, Cafe Amelie directly across the street. Highly recommend Cornstalk for the location, which is a big part of what you pay for. It’s a beautiful old house with chandelier and it takes you back to another time. Ghost Tours walk by to stop and look at it day and night. Nice balcony to sit on and enjoy the view. Complimentary coffee and tea. When we went the air conditioning was cranking and we would frequently return to cool down before setting off again. It was most definitely on the higher price range for us. They have daily paid parking available so add that into your price if you’re on a budget. You just leave your keys at the desk so they can move the cars around to let patrons out as needed. If you want to stay in an old “haunted” home come here. If you feel more comfortable with all new furnishings and paint etc you would probably prefer someplace else. This “is” an authentic old home after all.
Some of the bedding was shredded underneath and hanging down. Some may not appreciate that.... overall added to the “ambiance” and older authentic feel of the experience. Use caution with the tables, when my husband put his bag down on one he had to “reassemble “ part of the table lol.
Very comfortable bed. Lots of space in room.
Room was clean but everything above arms reach was covered in dust. Chandelier in bathroom looked like it had dust from the 1800’s. Apparently, the cleaning crew does not know how to use a ladder. Towels are getting a little old. May need to replace those. Chair was worn out and uncomfortable
As they say location is everything! This was great!
The location was perfect and the hotel decoration was authentic!
AC was not properly regulated, in one room it was too hot, and the other one was very very cold. They couldn't regulate the temperature for each room individually. The bathrooms need a renovation and the bedroom proper cleaning.
