Nelson hotels near Queens Gardens

Pros: Very comfy bed, small but lovely room, walking distance to town. The kitchenette was handy and the tv is huge!

Cons: The bathroom was a little chilly - perhaps a wall heater would be a good addition.

Pros: Big room/apartment en very good shower. Perfect location

Pros: Spa bath great except for hair. . Good sized TV. Nice looking room, friendly staff.

Cons: Not clean in some areas. Top of hanging bedside lights, dust on surfaces. Hair in spa bath. Taps etc not polished had marks on. Quite a lot of traffic noise. Bed also had a hump in the middle and sagged at the edge. Not much lighting in bathroom.

Pros: I think this is the nicest NZ motel/serviced apartment I have ever stayed in! It was well priced, the room was lovely, and the owner couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. Definitely a 10/10 experience and we will be back!

Pros: I loved my stay here. The room was spotless, furnished beautifully, very quiet and well-appointed. I also liked that they did not use plastic shampoo bottles and were trying to be environmentally friendly, but using shampoo and conditioner in paper pouches. The owners went out of their way to welcome me warmly even though it was after normal office hours. Wonderful amenities, thoughtful people and all in all a very positive memory of Nelson, even though it was pouring with rain! I'll be back sometime.

Pros: Super friendly owners. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The beds are really comfortable. Extra bonuses for the fudge and Nespresso capsules. A really short walk into the centre of town too.

Pros: Friendly welcome, great quality coffee machine in the room, free wifi and internet-capable TV, quiet room despite the busy street. Easy onsite parking.

Pros: Everything was amazingly clean and the manager was great. Nothing was an issue and he made sure everything was in order when we got to our room/showed us how to work TV. Have stayed in other places that were more expensive and nowhere near as clean. I'd definitely stay here again.

Cons: Heating was provided, but a little underpowered. Some noise from drains from the room above.

Cons: Supermarket emptying their bins at 6 am. A bit noisy, not really a problem in winter but in summer time it would be annoying.

Pros: Facilities are great and only a block or so walk from town, staff are friendly and accommodating (we had arrived past office hours but were warmly greeted), bed was comfy, rooms were large and looked new, and a good sized smart tv with free wifi!

Cons: Yellow stains on the bedding was a little off-putting and there was a large amount of spilt hot drink on the side table left over from previous guest. However, there were more pros than cons and I would definitely stay here again!

Pros: The room was beautifully decorated, everything was very clean, and the amenities were excellent. We had more towels than we needed and things like shelving for putting things on in the shower really made it a good place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean and newly refurbished facility, good kitchen with all required utensils/cutlery/crockery. Sky TV (not movie channel), tv in lounge and bedroom. Spa bath and seperate shower.

Cons: Wifi in our apartment was pretty hit and miss (we were in very far apartment)

Pros: Roomy unit, enough to socialise comfortably with group. Excellent unit facilities and resort facilities. Spa bath unnecessary.

Cons: Someone was playing their guitar & singing until after 2am but that isnt the hostel's fault.

Pros: Great atmosphere. Good staff, nice room, amazing chocolate pudding, good breakfast. Overall a great hostel (we were happy with the parking too).

Cons: The room is really basic. The center is a short walk away. Both not a problem, but nice to know when you book.

Pros: No croissants ( more the pity) but a very relaxed, yet not neglected vibe. Lots of personal touches, inside and outside. My third visit over the last 6 or 7 years: its consistent high standards is really quite amazing.

Cons: Croissants would have been nice!. A little noisy in the early hours ( after midnight)

Pros: The staff were very friendly, and suggested places to eat and a number for taxis etc. The vibe of the place was friendly with people playing guitar and games etc in the communal areas. There was a big kitchen with lots of space to keep our things. Our room was a very good size with plenty of room for two suitcases and to hang wet coats etc up. The showers, toilets and laundry facilities were good and washing powder was free which is always a bonus for travellers :)

Cons: There were a couple of bugs on the carpet in our room. Both the booking.com description and the host suggested that there would be chocolate cake at 8pm (we were very excited about this..) but when 8pm came round, we wandered out into the communal area and could not figure out for the life of us where the cake was coming from... we could see people with it but it really wasn't clear to newcomers how to get some for yourself and no staff were around so we went to bed cakeless :(. Also if you want a good sleep I would recommend bringing earplugs - one night/morning (ranged from 3am to about 5am) the room/s above us were SO LOUD that I did not get a wink of sleep. It sounded as if people were dragging 10-ton suitcases around, jumping off and on to beds, and yelling to eachother. I kid you not it felt like the walls were shaking in our room because of how loud it was. This didn't happen the next night thankfully but it was truly awful.

Pros: Three choices of cereal;three choices of bread for toast,three choices of jam.Plus tea/coffee/milk.

Cons: Noise insulation could be improved ie when someone arises at 4am for an early morning departure,I would rather not be awoken by the noise coming from upstairs,I was in a downstairs room.

Pros: Good location, clean, staff were really friendly, dorm room warm and cosy with heater. Free pies, chocolate pudding & breakfast!! Selection of board games to play and free WiFi. There was also some herbs and a lemon tree in the garden you could help yourself to. The small touches like the recipe book and postcards to send home were nice.

Cons: A bench or something in the shower room to put clothes on would be good as there was only hooks.

Cons: The confederation of the room, lack of utensils in the cabin and unable to use the facilities in terms of the kitchen because people were using it and not having enough pots etc...

Pros: I liked the staff that were pleasant to deal with and considerate of my hiking versus normal gear and appearance. Im quite a mountainous adventurer and the staff were awful towards me in regards to being in my hiking gear when I arrived versus when I was in my normal attire at the end of my stay when I was asked to leave the property based on a first meeting and first appearance of being in my hiking gear versus my normal attire. Still it didn't stop the staff knowing me normally from asking me to leave based on judging a book by its cover. Judge me based on my hiking gear over my normal appearance! Etc ..

Pros: Great accommodation and location. The only two suggestions would be to supply a heater for all cabins. Ours did not have a heater. The other suggestion would be that it would be great to have a basic cutlery set and a few plates cups and bowls in the camp kitchen. Otherwise this was a great location and accommodation provider

Cons: Most staff are friendly except for one...Not a big deal though.. Crammed up dorm...and one big negative..Toilet locks doesn't work anywhere..so hold the door when you use :D

Cons: It was my second time to stay there, I quite liked it when I first visit it that's why I came back. But this time was so frustrating. Someone stole and use my food, tearing a name tag, chucking them into another fridge. It never happened to me at any other hostels before. I went to the reception but the staff just said I don't know. The next day someone, I don't know if it was the same one, again threw my can away. It was not practically Yha's fault but I just decided I will never come back again to encounter these nasty people in the hostel.
