Hotel De Guise

We thought it was going to be out of the way, but once we got there we realized it was just down from Place Stanislas (this was an amazing part of town that was literally breathtaking with its unexpected beauty and grandeur). The rooms were Paris-size, which was ok since the bathroom was large and the grandstair case is big too. The hotel is just a few minutes walk away from a VERY lively nightlife, with loads of eating options in the squares and avenues around there. We found the food options cheaper closer to the hotel; around Place Stanislas the prices went up alot.

The roads are narrow and one-way in many places, making parking a real challenge. There is no lift which can make getting to your room with all the luggage a bit of a challenge, but since the staircase and steps are these wide, expansive old-timey steps, it makes up for the effort by helping you imagine you live in a mansion.

Excellent location. No parking but massive car-park minutes walk away. Hotel staff extremely friendly. Lovely interior. Could not have asked for more.

Very kind and attentive staff. Told us a lot of interesting history of the building. Extremely helpful with my need for a gluten free breakfast. Ideally situated to see the old town with lots of very good restaurants nearby, and parking in nearby streets.

Just a bit unfortunate that there were insects in the velour headboards but it didn't spoil our stay.

Wonderful building in a wonderful location

No minibar in the room and no airco, but the staff happily provided us with free bottles of cold water and the room did have a mobile fan
