Very authentic Japanese Ryokan. The owner is lovely. Situated in walking distance from the train station.
A Japanese style inn in a very good and quiet location less than 10mins walk from Nagasaki station and about 20mins walk from the downtown & port area. Spotless tatami rooms with extra futons, pillows, air conditioning and fridge were very comfortable. Shared toilets and bathroom were very clean. The ryokan has only 4 rooms and was not very busy so sharing wasn’t a problem. Friendly and helpful staff always there to welcome you and didn’t rush you out in the morning. Bags sent ahead were in our room on arrival. Provided restaurant recommendations in the area. Unclear how much English they speak but they information and instructions were in English so you can manage. We were very comfortable here for 3 nights.
The washing machine was broken at the time
Location and Japanese fatalities room. Not water for tea provided in advance.
Coming from a stunning place I stayed in Kumamoto I put that into prospective otherwise is not fare. Location is good not far from the train station which is probably where most people arrive. Nagasaki being up and down hilly it is not easy walking around (get a day tram pass from the Rail Station as they don't sell it at the Ryokan). From the Station, north ot the Ryokan to the Museum of Art and Kraft you have endless Temples which are so close to the Ryokan. Very handy, everything else is a bit far but tram 3 stop nearby. The inconvenience is that you have to go up a few staircases without lift so that is not a easy thing with luggage. They have a washing machine and a cloth dryer for everyone to use which is inexpensive and very handy. The host are an elderly couple, you need to be in by 11.30pm. Overall It is a lovely place it ticks all boxes
Clean and big room with bright living area. Hot water with tea always ready, with a wipe-cloth. Clean bathroom and toilet. Nicely decorated lobby with informations about Nagasaki.
