Mumbai hotels near Statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Pros: Our flight got delayed and we made it to the hotel after midnight. They let us go straight to our rooms and did the check in there. It was very thoughtful. The 20 minutes morning yoga was nice. The concierge and travel desk staff were very helpful.

Pros: It's the taj. It's lovely and our room was freshly redone since last year. It's way too expensive for what you get, but where else would you stay in Mumbai? Breakfast buffet was always amazing in the past, this stay we were super disappointed. Milk was UHT from a box, selection was limited, took ages to get water refilled.

Pros: A lot of it is amazing. The room are very clean and comfortable. The hotel is spotless and the pool is fabulous. Great location, great building. It just oozes class and history. Staff (a lot of them!) are charming. The check-in process is done efficiently. Also, breakfast is excellent, with a lot of interesting options and breakfast staff are so attentive.

Cons: My 2 main issues are, first of all, that the food in all of their restaurants is totally overpriced, so I didn’t eat in the hotel. Secondly, for all their willingness to help and charm, the concierges are not very good. I had 6 or 7 things I wanted to do in mumbai and I needed a bit of guidance on how to structure my days and I didn’t get any luck at all. Having said that, the hotel is really fabulous so it didn’t spoil my stay. Shame they don’t have a tip box

Pros: Setting a new benchmark in luxury. This is one the best property I’ve stayed in. It was a surreal experience staying in a place which is part of history. Immensely satisfying sojourn.

Cons: I fell sick on my last day in the hotel, but the staff was very sweet. They even sent me an in-room complimentary breakfast on the day of my departure and allowed me to check-out late. Hands down, the best hotel in Mumbai!

Pros: The unexpected highlight right at the beginning was the airport pick up with a limousine (german car). It continued with a very warm welcome and an upgrade into the Oberoi part of the complex. Receptionists and all staff were overall friendly and helpful with advice. The room was fancy with technics, super modern bath, great views and a wish to be able to stay much longer! ... great breakfast buffet! The outdoor pools are clean and big enough for swimming and relaxing.

Pros: The property and staff are first class. The on site restaurants are very good, featuring tasty international menus. The fitness center was nice, and the pool was excellent.

Cons: There is currently construction in front of the property as the Mumbai subway station is being built.

Pros: Great location. Nice rooftop pool with a quality view. Attentive staff. Spacious room with comfortable bed and chairs.

Cons: WiFi was a bit hit and miss. There’s a late night bar / club inside on Friday night which I could hear a little in my room on floor 2. Neither of these would put me off staying again.

Pros: This hotel has a super location next to the Bay area and Marine Drive. Breakfast in the balcony early in the morning was enjoyable. The rooms (and the pool area) need some renovation, but they are still 5-star level. Staff is helpful and works promptly, I also used car transfer services despite the times of Uber. That is really a good choice if you want room, silence and privacy to read, for example, your newspaper during the ride to your meeting place. Pros: - The location as it is accessible. A few min walks to museums and Gate of India. Literally in the middle of Colaba - The housekeeping and restaurant staffs were excellent. We didn't like the first room as it was very cramp and the toilet were very tiny. There were stains on the pillow and bed sheets. However, the housekeeping manager and his staff make arrangement to move us to a bigger room. They even added mattress to our bed so there will not be a split /gap in the middle of the bed (the original beds were two single beds combined to be one Queen size) - We left tips on the bed for the housekeeping guy but he didn't even take it. We met him at the doorway and he told us that we may have forgotten our money on the bed. A very honest guy i would say! - The doormen were friendly with smiles and greetings. It was raining and one of them even prepared umbrella for us. - The breakfast selection were good.

Cons: -The hotel room was damp. We were staying there for 4 days and even after the clean house keeping, in the middle of the night, the floor got wets and moist. They get very slippery and we nearly slip and fall. - The furniture in the rooms were old and worn out. It seriously needs to revamp.The towels also had stains on it even though they were changed daily - It looks like a budget hotel and the ventilation at the breakfast restaurant were bad. Your hair and clothes smell with oil as there was the egg station there. -The shower area had no curtain and with small piece of glass which splashes the water to the area when showering. - The Front Desk Staff asked for marriage proof despite i am a foreign lady and my fiance is a Indian national. We were not marriage couple and was informed that he needs to check with the management if they would let us stay. It was not a pleasant experience. Understand that it is a requirements for some hotel in India, hence just to let others know that this hotel is not a friendly couple hotel.

Pros: The staff was really excellent. They arranged for currency exchange and laundry services. I actually loved the breakfast too, and that's not something I say about many hotels. It was varied and delicious.

Cons: Shuttle to an from the airport was 3X more expensive than a taxi. The cable in the room was pretty inconsistent and limited.

Pros: The location is excellent. Walking distance to most sights. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is good.

Cons: The room did not fit with its description or the photos. When we asked if they had given us a double superior deluxe, as booked, their answer was rather vague, but offered us to change to a better room, a corner unit, brighter and with a larger bathroom. The hotel's reception is upstairs on the second floor, which makes it a bit awkward, at least the first time to walk in. The staff is a bit pushy to get their tips.
