The quaint property has a charm to it that reminds you of the inns of old.
There needs to be a bit more detailed attention paid to the facilities in the room. Being close to the sea, the humidity levels are high and therefore air conditioning needs to be strong.
Great location! Clean and comfortable, environmentally friendly hotel. Delicious breakfast!
Perfect location and lovely staff. Very caring to details which made a big difference.
Hospitality friendliness cleanliness ambience hotel design
The room was as told to us a bit small. And the breakfast being freshly cooked a bit delayed. But otherwise great experience and will stay again
The Abode Boutique Hotel is an island of relaxed, modern 21st century hospitality in the midst of Mumbai's most visited area (Colaba). In an area populated with large - generally expensive and luxurious - traditional hotels with lobbies and liveried staff, Abode has taken the 1st floor (one floor up from "Ground") of a building otherwise occupied mostly by offices and created an extremely casual and pleasant modern lodging place. The staff is personal, attentive, and super pleasant. The rooms are modern, well designed, comfortable and quiet despite being in a busy part of the city. The location couldn't be better - in one direction, it's just a few blocks walk to the India Gate, the waterfront, and the (in)famous Taj Palace Hotel; in the other direction, a few blocks walk to the national museum and the museum of modern art. The breakfast (included) was more than adequate. Although the hotel doesn't offer other meals, at least half of the restaurants recommended by our guide book were within walking distance of Abode (including a very pleasant Parisian-inspired bakery and cafe on the Ground floor). Overall, it was a perfect place for our 2 days in this bustling part of Mumbai.
Abode Bombay is located in Colaba neighborhood, or Old Bombay area, and the heart of Mumbai, India. It’s a luxury boutique hotel and is the first of its kind in the city. The building the hotel is housed in was a part of the colonial days of Mumbai and has been restored to a modern version of its original design.
The hotel has 25 rooms that are small but tastefully decorated and very functional. There are features that are unique to the rooms, including handmade tiled flooring. There are views of Colaba from some of the rooms. For those who want to save a little money, there are rooms that have shared spaces.
Guests can order room service during specified hours. Mumbai has some excellent restaurants for guests to experience also. The Bombay Canteen is an Indian restaurant that serves creative dishes and cocktails. Dakshin Coastal has a casual atmosphere that is great for taking children along. The Sahib Room & Kipling Bar is an old-school type Indian restaurant serving colonial-style food.
Abode is not far from some of the main attractions in the area. Guests can visit the Andheri Sports Complex, Powai Lake, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, and the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre. There are a few train stations very close to the hotel also, so guests will be able to get anywhere quite easily.
Abode Bombay is a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Mumbai. The hotel lends itself to leisure travel, but provides nice accommodations to business travelers, as well.
