10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very jovial, friendly and helpful. Everyone went out of their way to make sure that we have everything we need. They made sure that all the food we were served was cooked without salt, as we can’t have any. The house was very spacious and had incredible views of the lake and the mountains. It was very authentic but modern at the same time. The private hot spring bath was incredible.
Cons: We loved everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best in-room ofuro ever! Loved it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is of the highest quality here. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The location is lovely; very quiet but close to Morioka. I would recommend using a hire car however to get places nearby. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived, nd were given tea and Japanese sweets while our room was being prepared. The indoor and outdoor baths are fantastic; so relaxing and warm. The service for the food is brilliant, and the food itself is so tasty. Everything in the rooms is of a very high quality: from small things like the umbrella or even the pens. It's easy to see where the cost is spent. Our hosts were very very nice, I can't recommend this place highly enough if you are looking for an authentic feel with high quality, privacy, romance and relaxation. We stayed here for 3 nights and I really didn't want to leave. Next time I visit Tohoku I will definitely stay again. Thanks so much for a wonderful 3 days.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place that is magically relaxing. Our room had interior and exterior onsens which both overlooked a gorgeous river. The staff was very helpful and made wonderful suggestions. Such a lovely splurge.
Cons: It would be near impossible to find a fault.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were actually individual cabins. There were two hot springs in the room!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations. Staff were lovely and able to accomodate our request for transportation to & from the villa (to Morioka station). The meals were of restaurant quality. Wish we had stayed longer than one night! Incredibly peaceful and relaxing location. Thank you!
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Charging for tea and cheap drinks from the fridge

Cons: It was difficult to access from Morioka train station.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful facility location staff
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The front desk ladies are very polite and positive. Great service. Hotel itself, very clean, very comfortable; the walls are thick and almost sound proof
Cons: about 15mins walk from the main station, a little difficult to get to, perhaps the hotel can provide a shuttle bus service. The loop bus is another way to get to the hotel, but you must study the map and still walk about 5mins inside to the hotel, which can be quite confusing. I have the ability to read chinese and a bit of japanese and hence was able to locate the hotel with ease.

Pros: Very spacious. Very kind and friendly staff. All you could drink beer in the lobby. Beautiful Onsens. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. Views were very beautiful.
Cons: Secluded location. Outdated decor. Difficult to understand shuttle and onsen schedules for non-Japanese speakers.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent onsen. Very good dinner and breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: Dinner was lovely, as was the view of the lake from the lobby.
Cons: Way too expensive. Pretentious. Obviously targets wedding parties. Difficulty communicating as a foreign tourist, come with someone who can translate. For some reason wait times for the elevators are ridiculous. Couldn't figure out where the shuttle from the station was supposed to be. Had difficulty finding towels, and nowhere to hang them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the japanese style breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great view, great onsen, great service
Cons: Could be more clean in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful lake and mountain views. Food was great. Very nice large indoor and outdoor onsen. Shuttle bus to Morioka station.
Cons: No local buses to explore as I did not have a car. Did not have an exercise room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful experience in Morioka. Facilities were older but really well taken care of. The spa was great and the men's and women's sections were switched over daily, so within two days we were able to experience every spa. Great view of the lake from one of the baths. The staff are unable to speak English, so if you don't know Japanese, you might have trouble with check in and getting around, but they are super friendly and accommodating. We felt so comfortable in our room and had a lovely view. Something to note: if you prefer a non smoking room, you'd have to call ahead and ask for the 8th or 11th floor (the only floors that are non smoking), as Booking did not seem to have an option listed for this hotel when we booked it. We were on a smoking floor, but it really wasn't as bad as one would assume, I could only slightly smell it in the hallways. The breakfast buffet is so delicious, mostly Japanese food and all well made. The hotel is 25 minutes away from Morioka station and there isn't much around. They have a free shuttle that runs at certain times, which you would want to call ahead to let them know you are arriving. Otherwise it's about 4500 yen one way to the station by taxi. I would definitely stay here again, we really enjoyed it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff was so perfectly friendly and supported so much to make the stay a memorable experience! The dinner and breakfast was very delicious and full of local fresh ingredients. I loved the stay so much!

Cons: the air conditioning system. Cannot sleep well because the room is way too warm
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient and staff are good
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a good location, basically at the downtown. The price for such a standard was good and the room was clean and really big and the bed was very comfortable! The stuff of the hotel was kind and helpful.
Cons: The problem was with the parking lot as it is located out of the hotel and not easy to find. Moreover, the parking lot was not included in the hotel price.
7.9 Good
Pros: Not too far from train station, got good welcome cookies from staff. The room is spacious.
Cons: A bit old hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: The main reason I decided to stay at the Metropolitan New Wing hotel was its proximity to the Morioka's Railway Station, since apart from visiting the city itself, I had planned to take day trips to some nearby tourist spots. Not to be confused with its "elder brother", the Metropolitan, that's directly accessible from the station, the New Wing is a mere 5-7 minute walk from the time you get off your train. My room, a standard one, was relatively large, clean, quiet and kept in good conditions even though, a renovation would be welcome to remove that sense of "outdated" you feel from the very first moment. Unfortunately, due to downtown Morioka layout, being close to the railway station means you'll have to walk some 15-20 minutes before you get to a real foodie paradise, where you are presented a number of restaurants, bars and japanese pubs scattered through a large semi-pedestrian area built around a main street and several alleys on both of its sides. Remember westerners are much less common here than in other more touristy cities so, don't worry if there's no english menu on sight, just enter and enjoy the japanese hospitality: you won't disappointed. Aren't you fancy walking? A few hundred meters away from the hotel entrance, you'll find a bunch of eateries popular with locals. Checking in and out from the Metropolitan New Wing was quite a quick process and, more in general, the outsanding kindness of its Front Desk Staff makes you feel like you were staying in a upmarket hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location only
Cons: The rate n the hotel’s old

Pros: Fantastic service from the hotel owner. Was delayed in reaching the hotel in time for check in by an hour and he didn't mind. Good recommendation for dinner as well and the izakaya owner is a gem. Offered to send me back during the rain. (Name of the restaurant is Koiyoshi)
7.5 Good
Pros: Room is spacious, and hotspring on site.
Cons: There is no shower nor bathtub in room. You have to use the shower in the public bathroom inside of onsen. However, that is not open untill 11am andclosed at 8 pm. Litteraly, you only 5 hours window to take a shower. And there are nothing to eat ininside hotel, not even instant noodle. There does have 2 tiny restaurant 5 minutes walkaway, open after 6:30 pm. Night is cold there at Fall. There is only one blanket (usually down comforter provided in Japan hotels) in the room. I was cold and can't sleep Well,. Also, the owner charge me 150 yen more than booking.com price which is first time ever happened. His explanation is tax for use hotbath. Do not recommend.

Pros: The place was clean, the hot springs was beautiful and nice service
Cons: The location far away from the station. Buses get from the main station only once at hour. There is cheap hostel but not so expensive
8.8 Excellent
