I had an excellent stay here. They let me check in an hour early and gave me an upgrade from a king-size bed to a suite - which was sweet. Highly recommend this hotel.
Everything was perfect - no complaints
The hotel was the perfect location to be able to easily walk around Old Montreal and was a steady 25 minutes walk from downtown. The staff were brilliant. I checked in very late and the reception staff could tell I wasn't fully taking in everything they were saying and suggested that once I got some rest to come back and they would go through everything again for me, which I felt added a nice personal touch from the staff and I wasn't being treated like cattle passing through. My suite was very clean and I loved that fact that even though my holidaying hours were not the norm, housekeeping still managed to pop in and clean my suite whenever they knew I was out. Breakfast was pretty much standard fare, but always tasted fresh and there was sufficient variety. The on site restaurant, whilst not open all day was open around core meal times and the food was very good, well cooked and seasonal. I was able to have an extra hour on checkout day and they were happy for me to loiter on the second floor where breakfast was served and where one of the business suites is located. The sofas and chairs there are comfortable and several other guests made use of this area as well. Overall a superb place to stay and somewhere that I would recommend and would stay at again when I return.
This is an old hotel that has had a first rate renovation and is modern and comfortable now.
The bar is extremely expensive. No ice machines on the floors but ice can be sent up to your room upon request.
Location was very good.
Windows did not open than very small crack. Bathroom had things smeared on wall. Deco a bit old.
At check-in we were upgraded to a mini-suite. The room was absolutely fabulous with a view on McGill street. We loved the spacious bathroom and the location can't be beat.
Nestled in an original Beaux-Arts building in the historic quarter of Old Montreal, the St Paul opened in 2001 as Canada’s first ever boutique hotel. The 119-room property, designed by Montreal-based design firm Borrallo Interiors offers a timeless blend of past and present, and an innovative design that maintains the integrity of the building’s original architecture. Curated so that every surface is to be touched and explored, each curtain, sofa and table has been lovingly custom-designed to create a daring dialogue reminiscent of classic european opulence and glamour. Bold juxtapositions of colour and texture heighten the senses and transport guests on a visual journey throughout their stay. Masculine elements like straight cuts and strong lines collide with feminine expressions found in the fashion-inspired fabrics to create a soothing paradox.
