Cons (-) Unresponsive management. Would not do anything about an exterior light shining through a window with minimal window shutters. The place is dirty and the parking lot was tiny, yet packed with cars, making parking a disaster.

Pros (+) Cost was low for Monterey Friendly staff Immaculate bathroom
Cons (-) Equipment in a utility closet nearby whistled, keeping us awake for a while.
Cons (-) Parking a bit tight, but nothing to be done about that!
Pros (+) Location was convenient to both the beach and downtown Monterey. Staff was friendly.
Cons (-) The rooms were old and the carpet smelled. The maid sprayed Febreze all over the room to cover it up, and we had to air it out. The lock was almost broken and a few times the door got stuck. Really, it was just a bunch of barely-maintained wooden shacks.
Cons (-) It isn't much of a breakfast.
Pros (+) Left at 1am after waking up to bedbugs. Horrified, I went to the officem before leaving. Checked into another Inn. Asked for refund the next day & the manager of Padre Oaks refused. BEWARE!
