Beds were comfortable, room was spacious and the staff were friendly. Great location and facilities nearby.
Bathroom was very small and the bathroom mirror was not great for any woman wanting to do her hair/ make up! Hotel should invest in a mirror within the bedroom which will have natural light!
Nothing, not one thing. The staff were rude,
We arrived at 2:45pm for a 3 pm check-in and they would not check us in until 3:00pm even though the room was available with no one in them. Fyi, we paid $150 per day. Then they checked us into a room that smelled of cigarette smoke, we were then moved to a different room only to realize the smoke was in the air conditioning. There is a hidden $23 USD per day "Resort" fee. Even though this is a hotel not a resort. It says so in its name "Hotel Chelsea" not "Resort Chelsea". Since they are into the scamming business just charge me Aviation fuel surcharge $500 per day, because Hotel Chelsea is also an Aeroplane or a Space shuttle. the lobby bar is a different business than the hotel, with no coffeemaker or microwave in the room, we asked for hot water and were given a hard time because the lobby (which was 12 steps away from our room, that we needed to order an empty glass from the hotel reception to our room, then come with the glass to get hot water). The bathroom floods, they have no tissue boxes we were asked to go across to CVS to buy own tissues
The bathroom was really nice
Hotel hallways are very dim kind of scary if you’re alone and downstairs check in area smells like mildew and furniture in lobby look really old .
Location, price and happy hour
Staff just going through the motions
Close to the beach, and the hotel can give you beach towel So you don’t have to carry yours. The bus from the airport (metrobus 150) just stops on the corner of the hotel. Most of the staff was very helpful and polite.
There are few places in America that seem like they exist in a completely different space, but Miami, and specifically, the South Beach section of Miami Beach, are exactly that. Known as the Magic City, Miami is a place that’s today’s crossroads of the world. The Caribbean cultures along with the American ethos have infused Miami Beach with an aura that can’t be found anywhere else in America. Because this is such a special place, staying here requires a special hotel like the Hotel Chelsea.
The hotel goes back to 1936 and is one of the many art-deco gems that dot Ocean Drive. This famous section of South Florida has seen it all, and the retro-style decoration of the hotel is infused with luxury. The rooms are comfortable and the perfect place to relax after experiencing all that Miami Beach has to offer. Whether it is walking up and down Ocean Drive or experiencing the different spots of the city like Calle Ocho, you’ll enjoy the sleeping on these comfortable mattresses.
Miami Beach, and Miami in general has possibly the best food scene in America. In the hotel, El Pescaito offers large portions of traditional Cuban seafood fare. The atmosphere is light and fun, perfectly representing the hotel and its location. There’s no shortage of food options when you leave the Hotel Chelsea and head down South Beach. With many bars and food trucks, there are plenty of options for travelers.
Visiting Miami Beach is something everyone should do. The culture and sights are amazing, and staying in the Hotel Chelsea is an ideal way to see what the locals call The 305.
