great breakfast , wonderful art in the dinning room, good coffee /espresso .
rooftop patio? Very pleasant and relaxing
The hotel is quite charming and so is the owner, who is a delightful person, whom we met and talked to. I urge her to pay attention to the correct functioning of the room (see feedback below). The restaurant is quite nice, good service and good food.
The room was filled with spiderwebs, the bathroom had problems with the shower not draining properly, the faucet did not work and had to call a plumber. The room was on the side of the hotel in a very noisy street, thus concluded that the noise insulation does not exist. The wifi was quite erratic. The light in the room made it difficult to read or to put on make up. The swimming pool was not available, thus we could not use its in the midst of 99 degrees heat.
Colonial charm of the building. Very helpful staff. Water coolers easily available to all rooms...a very nice feature. Big rooms. Very clean. Rooms well supplied and decorated with full length mirrors, hammocks, blackout blinds, overhead fans and air conditioning. I also liked the location.......except for Saturday nights........
The noise on Saturday nights when they close off the road right in front of the hotel and have live entertainment until midnight makes it impossible to sleep. Plus the night club near the hotel also rocks on to very late on Saturdays. Other nights are ok. Avoid rooms 105 to 110, specially 110, if you plan to be there on a Saturday night, unless you plan to be awake anyway. The pool was “under repair” while we were there. There appeared to be no repairing going on during our stay. Our stay spanned an 8 day period. The breakfast in the attached restaurant could have been more generous. The restaurant was cute and well staffed. I would have preferred a lower priced room and pay for my own breakfast to include hot food.
Beautiful building, great location
Some staff could have been friendlier and more knowledgeable; language barrier may have contributed; bugs in the bathroom at night
Location and layout of hotel. Also staff were extremely professional and helpful
