It was close to the water and the pool was okay.
The rooms were not great. A few ceiling tiles were on the brink of collapse, the wall unit air conditioner looked like a lint trap from a dryer, and the comforter had stains. There was also no HBO as advertised and only dry muffins for breakfast.
The view of water beautiful.
The sand beach area was very dirty. Rooms dirty. Some type of gnatty bugs all over. Rooms smelled. Carpet dirty, bathroom floors dirty. Shower stalls had duct tape on them with wall paper coming down in sheets.
OLD but a great price for the location and beach.
The view from the room was great, the beach was nice and swimable and the bon fire pits were a nice surprise, we could walk to the FERRY for the island, and the room was old but clean, with awesome water pressure. The staff were very friendly.
The whole facility needs updating, but it was a great for the price.
60s era motel mixed with Kwil-E-Mart
The lights that had plugs available did in fact work.
The place was not a bad place to stay, but I am under the impression the scaffolding and associated repair materials are just props. The TVs were the only up to date items in the room outside of consumables like light bulbs and shower supplies. The rate was lower than most in mackinaw and tidy. The conditions of the general infrastructure was poor. All buildings had signs of roof damage parking lot was a 50/50 mix of puddles after the rain the night before. Overall this place is solid 2 star hotel. Don't think Holiday Inn think Route 66 from the sixties mixed with some Kwik-E-Mart for some added culture to your vacation.
I loved that place
Nothing
Our door didn't always lock. If you pushed on the door hard enough it popped open, but the front desk people said it was fine and not broken. Carpet was so filthy that your feet were black after walking across it even after your shower. Tons of mold and mildew on shower tiles. Very outdated. Probably hasn't been remodeled since the seventies. And our room wasn't serviced each day. Had to go and get clean towels each day. This was our last stay at mackinaw because we are moving to Arizona. We thought we'd have one great last vacation here before we moved, but it was barely tolerable.
Worst hotel in USA that I have seen
No thing
Every thing from the cleanness, front disk, no food, worst internet connection, bad communication, your reservation doesn't mean u get a room when u go over there, dirty beach, room stings, not sure about bugs but possible, the staff is so rude, no water to drink, no breakfast, basically this hotel should be closed for rebuilding from the beginning
Pool was nice.
Everything was very old and not up to date. Rooms were tiny and very uncomfortable. A lot of money for so very little. Staff was not friendly at all. Would never stay again.
The location wasn't terrible and neither was the breakfast.
Everything from the staff to the nasty, bug filled hotel.
It was really close to the downtown. Also nice lakeview.
The heating was broken and we couldn't adjust the tempurature. It was sooo hot.
The location allows easy access to all the nearby sights. The staff was friendly and helpful. Most importantly the view is amazing and the kids really enjoyed the beach and the pool.
Good value for the money. Convenient to activities of the area.
Not really. The breakfast area is not adequate, but the food was good and well presented.
The facilities were clean. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and free breakfast.
I liked how close the hotel was to the water and to the ferry's.
I did not like the free breakfast that they provided and the cleaniness of my room. I had a blanket on my bed with poop on it.
