Nice decorated rooms and cafe. The room was clean and descent and the location in town was very usefull
The (nicely decorated) lights were not bright enough. At night it was very hard to find anything in your room. The shower (outside the room) could not be locked from outside so you could not leave anything there. The shower temperature was shaking from very cold to very hot all the time.
The hotel is located in the centre of Maastricht.
The rooms are very noisy because of the music downstairs. But we received earplugs when we checked in.
The atmosphere is very special because of the nicely decorated, Northern African rooms and the lounge bar downstairs. The owner of the hotel was very kind and supportive in everything.
Our stay at this hotel was superb. We definitely will stay here again. The hotel is just a half block from the Maastricht market square. There are some very steep steps in the hotel, however, the hotel staff carried our lugguage to our rooms. We did not need to ask, they volunteered to do so. Our room was cleaned everyday including fresh bathroom towels. This is an excellent place to stay.
We liked everything about this hotel.
Location, friendly staff, nice Moroccan tea that we could order to be brought to our room, new and very nice shower/WC accross the corridor
The room windows going out on the noisy fans of a scruffy mini-courtyard (that's no 2). We could see the attempt at stylish atmosphere with Moroccan lights, but we missed one "normal" light since the room was dark even during the day; it was difficult finding things in the room. Also, the bathroom was accessible to people from other rooms (rooms in which they had en-suites); ours was used as a spare WC like that. The bathroom should either be lockable from outside with only us having the key, or say "2A" or similar on the door, so that others dont enter it. With another €3.50 on top of the listed rate, this sort of basic room was overpriced at €70 per night w/o breakfast.
Hotel Matutchi offers a fabulous and relaxing atmosphere, right in the centre of Maastricht. Free wired internet access is available in the guest rooms. Hotel Matuchi is a unique hotel with Oriental rooms. In the rooms you will find authentic furniture from the Orient. All rooms have a bath or shower and a TV. In this small-scale hotel you can enjoy a nice dinner and order tasty cocktails. The Lounge & Shisha bar make the picture complete.
