If you’re looking for cheap car hire in Maastricht, then you won’t need anything larger than a compact vehicle. This type of car is ideal for driving on narrow streets, as well as for parking in tight spaces. Whilst the Netherlands is a relatively flat country with great road infrastructure, if you’re travelling further afield you might want a car that offers enhanced comfort. For example, an SUV provides you with a superior interior for longer trips.
You must adhere to the speed limits when driving in Maastricht, or you are likely to get fined by the police. You will also be less likely to be involved in an accident if you drive within the speed limit. If you’re caught by a speed camera, your car hire company will charge you and also be obligated to pass your information over to the police. In the city, you can typically drive as fast as 50 km/h (31 mph). On rural roads, the speed limit is generally 80 km/h (50 mph), whilst on motorways, it’s usually 100 km/h (62 mph).

8.0 Very Good
Pros:The car was OK. In marked contrast to Maastricht, drop-off in Amsterdam was good, fast, with friendly staff.
Cons:Reserved a car few days before pick-up so no surprise. They did not have the car class. They tried to force to take a car with cracked front window (!!!). Only after I told them I will not take the car and report them to their management they gave me an undamaged one. Sixt?! - Never again!
Cons:Vans parked around pick up made leaving the agency complicated
