stay for six nights. Very neat place. In a convenient and quiet neighborhood. Provide some good cookies for free
The staff were friendly. The receptionist took my trash problem very seriously and actually scolded the housekeeper for not having checked to see if there was anything wrong while making the bed. Breakfast was delicious and varied (4 types of cereal, lots of different jams, ham, cheese...). There was even fruit salad. You could also have a full English breakfast and proper English tea. The hotel was close to Hyde Park, the Kensington Palace, etc. It was situated in a very peaceful and safe neighborhood even at night with lots of restaurants in the vicinity too.
There was some trash between the bed and the wall so I had to ask for it to be cleaned. However, when I came back to check, they still hadn't done so, so I had to ask again. The light from the internet modem is very bright and lights up the bed when you turn the lights off at night. I usually don't have any trouble sleeping regardless of the circumstances but other travelers who sleep more lightly should be aware of this problem. Furthermore, they should know they ring the bells at one of the nearby churches twice (as far as I recall) at night. They should work on their draining system too, as it takes a while for the toilet to flush after you've used it once already. The water from the sink doesn't drain right away either. The water flow from the shower isn't strong enough.
- The bed was comfortable - Location was nice - Quiet enough
It's a very bad service and comfort for a 4 star hotel : - No small towels in the bathroom, only one big towel per person. ( If you ask for it, they send it to you if not, you have to dry your whole body with the same towel) - The cleaning is not sufficient at all, the kettle was full of dust, there were finger stains on the wall. The room doesn't give a hygienic feeling whatsoever. - Lack of bathroom accesories for 4 star hotel : No Q-tips, no cotton pads, no slippers, the hair dryer was broken, very low quality soap and shampoo,... - No minibar - The night staff (young boy) was not friendly at all, doesn't even look at the customers face. Definetly not a facility up to the requirements of a 4 star hotel. Earlier, We have stayed in cheaper and lower star hotels in Bayswater with way better service than this.
A fan in the bedroom Biscuits with tea Shower gel and shampoo Being able to leave bags and collect later Comfortable bed .
After taking my niece for a tour around London and coming back from the theatre around 11pm, the hotel steps were populated by some youth smoking drinking and dancing and it made us feel slightly uncomfortable and awkward to approach the hotel. Perhaps it was a one off I do not know but the room was comfortable for just one night I guess.
