The bathroom - WC didn’t work properly
Receptionist was rude and loud
Staff were really nice, ladies cleaning our room were the sweetest and the price was fair for the great location. However it shouldn’t be hard to get wifi to the rooms, the “free wifi” claim on hotel’s page is unfortunately not accurate. Wifi is just available at the “entrance corridor” where there is no common area. Also there is kettle and mugs at the room but no coffee or tea, nor proper cutlery. So not sure what’s the point of mugs and kettle if I have to buy a jar of coffee for myself during my visit... Spoons in mugs were plastic ones which looked like left from some previous guests as they were all different kind!? A random plastic fork was left as a cutlery also. I really think the effort could go into other things instead of changing my sheets and towels everyday.

Let's be honest. You are only reading this review, because you are trying to decide if it is worth booking at this place. Right now, you're thinking: "It's cheap, but maybe it's too cheap? I wonder if the rooms are dirty. How's the staff? Is the shower/toilet something I would feel safe using? Is this worth it!?" So let me answer, and save you time from reading the other reviews. 1: It is dead cheap for a reason! BUT, it is exactly what you expect. We had a family room with 5 beds and private bathroom. It is central and close to everything. The beds were reasonably comfortable, the shower was passable and the bedding was clean. They were cleaning the room when we arrived, but when we got back at night, everything was sorted and we had extra towels. 2: The rooms was clean enough. I wouldn't want to eat in the room, but you are just looking at this as a one, possibly two night stay, so you'll be alright. There was some mould around the sink in the bathroom, the windows didn't fully close and there were no blinds to shut out the light. BUT, the room was warm in spite of that. So that is a plus. We all slept fine. 3: Staff. Friendly. The check in was easy. The checkout even faster. They were helpful and answered all our questions. No complaints there. Overall: IF you are looking for a cheap stay and you are ONLY going to sleep there (and have a shower in the morning), then yes. Book it. You get what you pay for. Nothing more, nothing less. It is a decent bed for a night or two and having a private bathroom is a massive plus! If you want a nice room for you and the miss/mr for a romantic weekend, then look elsewhere! This is NOT meant for lovely nights and romantic stays. But, like I said. If you are looking for a decent night for you and your mates or your family if you are travelling on a budget, then do consider Anwar House. Room. 5/10 Private bathroom. 5/10 Decent beds. 6/10 Friendly staff.
