Pros: We enjoyed the quiet and relaxing environment, and the beautiful scenery. It was an easy nice stroll of 20 minutes or so to the famous light house and the cliffs (better walk than try to find the parking spot in the middle of the day!) We stayed at an apartment on the second floor, which had balcony on front and back side, and a rooftop all to ourselves!! Washing machine only had Portuguese direction, and we had to call the housekeeping for assistance, but they came right away and it worked perfectly. There were many families with little ones and that was fine, but the spa area seemed to be adults only, and it was very relaxing with sauna, steamed sauna, jacuzzi, and the pool. We stayed at the resort for all the meals, and they served wonderful dishes. It was a wonderful summer getaway!

Cons: It could be a very very nice hotel ... but : It is a large hotel...not easy to find its way and to circulate between different levels and different locations...signs are missing...or circulation could be improved... ( the path to sand swimming pool is through a garage and you have to cross the street...same for the mini club)... Connection of our tv was not working properly...it was going on and off ... Access to nearest beach down the cliff is dangerous... so the only alternative is to take the car or the shuttle to go to an other beach... but the shuttle ... is too small and /or always full ... For such an expensive facility you would expect a perfect place.

Cons: If you are paying over $200/night it seems like an excessive price for the place since it is run more like a 3-3.5 than 4 or 5 star hotel. Some of the hotel is run down. There is a general lack of information about what to do and how to move around to and from Lagos. Staff could have been more helpful. Pool is cold which is a problem since the ocean in Lagos is numbingly cold even in the middle of July (colder than the coasts of Mexico, Brazil, the Mediterranean, beaches in SE Asia, etc). It seems like a minor thing but given the windy weather even when the town is hot, it was surprising to find very cold pools for the price paid.

When paying extra for the "sea view" we expected to be closer to the sea whereas we were close to and internal and external road with the sea visible from far. After the first disapointment we were enjoying meals on our balcony anyway. Nice place.

Pros: The location of the Hotel is the best, we found some free places at the pool every time we wanted to stay there. Everyday were some kind of entertainment activities by the pool for everyone who wanted to participate. Scooba diving lessons for free also were included by the pool. Music and a good atmosphere were also a pro. The room was very comfortable and clean, fresh towels every day and balcony with a great view. The staff was also very friendly and nice. A lot of parking spaces in the yard. As for the breakfast, there was a lot of fresh food, pancakes, eggs, coffee and espresso, everything fine, I would definitely recommend it.

Pros: Fantastic Location! The views from our unit 501 were breathtaking. There is a large balcony with a table and chairs accessible from all rooms that was so relaxing to have a meal or an end of day nightcap. Unit was very clean and everything inside appeared to be brand new. Beds were super comfortable, linens and towels changed, beach towels provided, AC worked well and each room could be individually set. We were able to use the amenities and restaurant at two other properties that were an easy walk - we took advantage and used all three pools and the restaurant and gym!

Cons: One of the front desk staff members was not the friendliest, somewhat sarcastic and unhelpful so I wouldn’t necessarily rely on them for help in planning day trips and activities. Everything else about the place made up for it so would still recommend staying here regardless.

Pros: Fantastic Location! The views from our unit 501 were breathtaking. There is a large balcony with a table and chairs accessible from all rooms that was so relaxing to have a meal or an end of day nightcap. Unit was very clean and everything inside appeared to be brand new. Beds were super comfortable, linens and towels changed, beach towels provided, AC worked well and each room could be individually set. We were able to use the amenities and restaurant at two other properties that were an easy walk - we took advantage and used all three pools and the restaurant and gym!
Cons: We are a family of five and needed to use the pullout couch in the Livingroom as a bed, when this is out the Livingroom area is a bit of a squeeze to walk around. The building does have parking for a fee, however we parked in the public parking right outside the building. During the morning and at night there are plenty of spots available, however during the day it would be very hard to find a place. We checked in after hours and had to wait for someone to come and check us in, wait was short and staff were super friendly.

Pros: We stayed at Aqualuz for 3 nights on 29th August. We arrived over 2 hours before check in and they were able to check us in immediately. We have a good size apartment which was very clean with a nice balcony and view of the pool. The location was great and easy to walk most places including Camilo and Dona ana beach easily. The staff were lovely and kindly gave us directions and also recommendations for places to eat and helped with reservations. I highly recommend ‘Mar’ restaurant (best sea bass) and ‘navegador’ (for their amazing Catalaplana)which were both suggested to us, excellent food. They also give pool towels and allow you to take them to the beach. Would stay there again and recommend the plave.

Cons: First of all we had a standard apartment which was not at all at the standards of a 4 star hotel. Our room was on the first floor with no sun throughout the day. The bathroom, like the rest of the room looked outdated, appliances were old and looking dirty. There was daily towel change but no cleaning or bedsheets change in the 5 days we were there (although we had requested); also no refuel of toiletries. Bed was a very uncomfortable twin instead of double, we were told all rooms have it like this. Overall appearance was kinda 80s and looked like it required renovation.

(The taxi back cost just five euros so we used that option in the evenings :)) There is also a bus going to/from the town each hour until late. (The same bus goes all the way to the famous Dona Ana beach as well!) The room was spacious with a nice view of the pool area and sea. As some have stated before, the furniture may be a bit dated, but everything worked well. It is not new, but it is very well kept. Beds were good too. The pool area and garden was also nice. Not too crowded either.

The hotel itself is a very cool layout, this isn’t your modern 5 star hip hotel, this is your older (once upon a time 4-5 star) with updates rooms and still looks the part as an upper class hotel in this city. Check-in and front desk services were great and helpful. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the downtown city center which had the best restaurants and great old city vibe.

Pros: Having stayed at the Tivoli Marina in Vilamoura this hotel was not what i was expecting. It was comfortable and in a good location for exploring the town. The shuttle bus to the beach was excellent and the Beach Club was lovely. Nice breakfast and clean rooms.
Cons: The breakfast was good but not quite to the standard of other hotels we have visited on the Algarve and not the Tivoli Marina although that is a 5 star. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and the spa was not staffed whenever we went down there. The hotel was a little bit tired but it was clean.

Pros: The location is the best. The hotel itself is a very cool layout, this isn’t your modern 5 star hip hotel, this is your older (once upon a time 4-5 star) with updates rooms and still looks the part as an upper class hotel in this city. We had 5 days in Lagos and this was the perfect spot to call home for those 5 days. Close to EVERYTHING. The pool is good, the beach club is good, if they are not your thing you can always Uber or rent a scooter to the nearby BEAUTIFUL beaches!

Cons: When we checked in we were only given limited information. When I went back to make enquiries another young lady with good English was on and she was very helpful in providing the info we didn't get at check in. May have been a language thing at check in?. Annoying having to go and get the pool towels. If reception was full meant you had to wait sometime to get a simple thing like a pool towel. Surely there is a better way by just leaving the pool towels by the restaurant and trusting people to return these. The shuttle only went to one location and that was it. We had an issue (stolen phone and bankcard while in the town one night) and needed to go to the Police Station next day. We caught the shuttle on checkout. The driver would only take us to a designated spot. As a consequence we had to haul our bags some way to the Police Station to report the theft. Given the circumstances you would have thought he/Villa Branca could have been more helpful on a hot day. Also needed a dish scrubbing brush and dish detergent for the kitchen. Seemed strange everything is there but nothing to clean up with. Reception said just leave it for the cleaners however breakfast dishes could sit there until evening.

Cons: The breakfast was nothing special. Not much to offer vegans or vegetarians, so it made it not worth the price of whole breakfast, even if it were included in the room charge. The facilites were more or less sanitary, but they were old and there was mold all over the bathroom. There was also a terrible rotting smell coming from the plumbing. We were unaware of the type of businesses surrounding the hotels location, and were taken by surprise when all of the party people who had gathered in the surrounding area to be so loud, that it kept us from sleep until 5 am. The following day, the hotel staff moved us from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor which was a minimal improvement. Point is, don´t book here if you want good if any sleep. There are DOZENS of bars in the immediate area, and while it is a central location, it is also at the very epicenter of the late-night scene. The building is old and not well-insulated, making everything outside very audible. Also, plan to not find a parking spot. The parking is only public parking directly in front of the hotel, and the spots are limited. This made our stay all the more that unpleasant, even though we were told in advance that parking was not guaranteed.
