Pros: A true backpackers hostel! The staffs are very friendly and helpful and some could be fun too! (They sing and dance around before any activities involving guests - very nice touch!!) The bar areas, be it in front of the house or opposite the house at the park area, decorated using natural materials, great African atmosphere. Home-cooked African style meal is awesome! I was lucky to be there on the last Thursday of a month, so there is a story-telling evening session around the fire where they invite local Soweto residents to share their real life stories! Also, I did a 4-hour bicycle tour with Lerato, a damn cool guy with lots of interesting stories to share, very knowledgeable about Soweto today and during apartheid. This is really a mind-shifting tour that could change someone's perspective towards South Africa!

Pros: Do yourself a favor, stay here! If I could I would give 100/100. I’m soooo happy I stayed at Lebo’s. There was such a pleasant family atmosphere and everyone was so kind! The food was BOMB, the facility was SPOTLESS, and the location really gave you an authentic feel for Africa. Take the cooking class with the chef (can’t remember his name :(), but’s he’s really great and the cooking is very hands on. The biking tour was another highlight. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here as it is really an amazing place. Cheers to you all for getting it right!

Cons: The double room was very small, our suitcase hardly fit in. I recommend to book the room with the ensuite bathroom.

Cons: I wrote that we will arrive late, but the gate was closed and there is no bell to ring, so i had to call them. After calling it took also a long time until they open the door. I recommend to check-in not so late.

Cons: Only concern is the consistency of staff instructions. Bar usage instruction was different from different staff, was told to help ourselves and write down on a bar list to be tabulated during check-out, but another staff prefers us to get assistance from her. Also, some advices on what to prepare for the tour will be excellent, such as sunscreen, water, etc. These are just minor improvement that can be done, should not deter ones from staying in this hostel!

Above all the staff really went the extra mile to make sure their guests were happy with everything to the extent I’ve never experienced before (and I’ve been to hundreds of different accommodations in 77 countries :)

Pros: The hostel is perfectly situated, there are many restaurants and cafés nearby, also a small grocery store is just around the corner. The bathrooms are clean, the staff is friendly, there are many tours one can book in the hostel. I would definitely recommend it if you're staying in Johannesburg.

Cons: The loft is cool, but the stairs leading to the mezzanine where the bedroom is are quite narrow and not easy to go down.
