Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was amazing! The bed was super comfortable and our room was absolutely spotless.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: By the Brae was a superb BnB. The location was perfect, facilities clean, shower pressure fantastic, with the wee touches of orchids on the breakfast table, nice cutlery and scottish fine soap company all adding to the experience. The hosts were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was delicious!
Cons: We wish we could stay for longer instead of just the weekend. Would prefer a whole week there to explore the surroundings and beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer. Next time for sure..
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was excellent!!! Location for us was perfect as it was not in the centre of Inverness but instead in the country.
Cons: nothing it was all excellent.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Richard & Jenny made us at home. Accommodation perfect, quiet and homely. Breakfast was perfect too with a great choice. We’ll be back.
Cons: Nothing. Simply perfect.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent! Nice place, Nice House, nice bedroom and excellent breakfast. The couple is really Nice:) All perfect... Diane and April
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Richard and Jenny were absolutely fantastic hosts. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel welcome. Richard provided so many helpful tips and suggestions for local attractions and places to visit as well as giving us a great overview of local pubs and restaurants etc. We were kindly given a complimentary room upgrade and the room was lovely and spacious. Room was spotless and had all the facilities you need. Perfect location, just 10 minutes drive from Inverness City Centre in a quiet rural area. Breakfast was beautiful!! Perfectly cooked with tasty, fresh produce (the sausages were our favourite!). Every morning we looked forward to it as well as having a chat with Richard/Jenny and fellow guests. Overall we loved our stay at By the Brae and felt we wanted to stay longer. Such a lovely place that makes you feel right at home when you step in. Wouldn't book anywhere else in Inverness.
Cons: Nothing!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at the Oöd Dryne House, the tips for the restaurants and the sightseeing were extraordinary!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: This is the second time we have stayed at Old Drynie. It is a luxury B&B. The owners are very hospitable the accommodation leaves very little to be desired and the location is delightful with views from the garden over the Moray Firth, whilst also being a short drive from Inverness.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The environment is incredible, the room was perfect and very clean and the owner was very nice!!!
Cons: It takes 10 minutes from the city center, but it is worth it!!!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Breakfast was very good and they were very accommodating of us leaving early the next morning.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Big room and bathroom
Cons: Paying cash makes extra work
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The setting of the home is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. I fell in love with the place. My husband and traveled with my brother and his wife and we shared the Secret Garden. We each had our own room and bathroom and then shared a common living area. It was a great place to relax in the evenings... Deidre and Alisdair were amazing hosts.
Cons: The property was fabulous, no complaints at all. It is a bit off the beaten path... So don't plan to walk anywhere except along the riverfront. But you will have to drive to any restaurants or shops.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very spacious. Superbly furnished.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The house is located in an awesome place, the very well kept garden is inviting and Alasdair and Deirdre, the owners, make you feel at home. They are absolutely attentive and warm-hearted. No detail is left unattended. We were located in a lovely and spacious room next to a secret garden. It had everything a guest might need and more! The breakfast is served in the main house. It is really very good and the table is set with a magnificent china. I strongly recommend this B&B. One more thing, thank you so much Alasdair for your helpful tips to visit Cairngorm National Park!!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Hosts Jess,Dougie and Holly were extremely friendly and welcoming, Also they were very helpful. Room was immaculate, Breakfast was delightful and very filling. An amazing stay, very grateful to the hosts for their remarkable hospitality 💜 Thank you. Will definitely be back to visit again.
Cons: There is zero complaints, Everything was exceptional ❤
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The host’s friendliness and the proximity to a seaside walk.
Cons: Nothing
Good 6.2
Pros: The facility was very comfortable and breakfast was good.
Cons: The problem upon check in was that the hostess was very un hospitable. She was very rude to the couple who checked in just before us. (I spoke to them that night and the following morning. They did not feel welcome at all). As for my wife and I....my wife mistakenly booked only one person. The hostess wanted an extra £30 for the extra person. Does that seem excessive for an extra breakfast?. Well, I did say breakfast was good...but not for that amount. Oh well....at least she lightened up after I gave her the cash. (My wife wasn't happy but it was our vacation and I didn't need conflict)

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a wonderful stay and dinner at Culloden House. The whiskey collection and the walled garden were a real treat! Excellent service to top it all off.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast excellent. Staff excellent.
Cons: The house looks rather tired and needs re-decorating in sympathy with its eighteenth century architecture. The present colour scheme in the public rooms is insipid and bland. The back of the house -the exterior- looks a bit tatty.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Liked everything about Culloden House. Olde Worlde charm and fantastic service. Staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly day and night. Service here much better than many 5 star hotels I've stayed in.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great bedroom and excellent service and food
Cons: All good
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Truly stunning hotel !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff are amazing and made us feel so welcome. They are more than pet friendly and Bruce couldn’t put a paw wrong. The food was outstanding and all brought to our room. And well situated for walks and site seeing. The walled garden was a bonus surprise.
Cons: Nothing, we had a great time and we will definitely be staying again.

Pros: EVERYTHING. This was a very quiet romantic and comfortable place to stay and will DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!
Cons: Can't think of anything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location, polite and gentile staff, outstanding dinner and delicious breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Eveything - excellent accommodation especially for those with an interest in history having close links to the Battle of Culloden Moor which is nearby.
Cons: Nothing. All good.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was delicious, the views from the room and dining room were beautiful. Rosanne and Ian were warm and welcoming and helpful with information on where to go. The B&B is full of beautiful home touches, feeling very comfortable. We were very pleased to have the opportunity to see their sheep, sheepdogs, and goat and appreciated Ian doing a working sheepdog demonstration.
Cons: We could not have asked for anything better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a great stay! Very comfortable. The family was very friendly and accommodating! Justina, our caretaker, was also so friendly and cheerful!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Host and staff were lovely. Great facilities, well cooked good breakfast, with lovely view. Host recommended we eat dinner at a local place which turned out to be excellent, we were so pleased to for the host to recommend, book us the table and give directions etc. En-suite bathroom facilities were excellent.
Cons: I think the bed frame was ready for a refresh. It was great having a fridge in the room but it was a bit noisy. I felt the overall cost was maybe too high but it was a very busy weekend in Inverness (marathon was on) so all accommodation was in demand, and booking.com take a hefty share of the price you pay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The bed was SO comfortable ! Minutes from Culloden Battlefield, host was lovely, view was great.N/a
Cons: Nothing !would
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Lovely setting on a working farm. Room and ensuite clean and comfortable.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good breakfast, friendly owner.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely welcome from owner and husband. Super comfortable bed and brilliant power shower. Location perfect for relaxing and only a short drive to Inverness for some shopping. On a farm surrounded by a variety of animals. Great choice at breakfast to suit all. Plenty parking. Found a place we will return to often.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful property with a gorgeous communal sitting room to relax in. Breakfast was spectacular!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I LOVED the dispensers of soap and body wash in the shower! This was ingenious and very helpful. Also I loved the bathroom mirror that had a clock in it and lights. This is very helpful to a traveler who needs the bathroom in the middle of the night, and is unfamiliar with the surroundings. The lights were very appreciated. The breakfast was pretty good - the scrambled eggs were a little too runny for my taste. But other than that it was good.
Cons: Maybe this is a European practice not to use a top sheet in the bed...? But in multiple locations in our two week journey we stayed in places where there was no top sheet. Also the comforters were beautiful but VERY heavy and much too warm on the bed for that time of year. At Leanach farms we used the coverlet, but since there was no sheet I kept wondering if another couple had slept under it before us and whether or not it had been laundered. It was also a little bit itchy against my skin since it was textured. Sheets are smooth - not textured. I think it would be more energy efficient to use a top sheet, and then you would not have to wash the coverlet or bedspread very often at all. In addition I like to use a wash cloth in the shower - a small square cloth to wash with. I had to buy a nylon scrubby thing a few days before that because our previous rental didn't have a wash cloth either. I think perhaps I should start bringing some with me from home when I travel!
Excellent 8.5
Pros: The place was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hearty.
Cons: At five to ten (the checkout time), the call went out. We were to be out the door by ten. The room across the hall from us ran out with things hanging from their suitcases. We ran and loaded the car, were told, no you have not left anything behind. Then my husband discovered his briefcase missing and had to run in and get it from our bedroom. All relaxation was gone from the way we were rushed out the door. I have never had this happen at any other B&B we stayed in.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Familiar surroundings
Cons: Nothing always comfortable
Good 7.0
Pros: Lovely hotel , great room , could do with sir con though ,as if it’s sunny the rooms get too hot , great bathroom,
Cons: Although the food was tremendous, we only booked bed & breakfast & once we got to the Resteraunt fir our evening meal & got the menu , boy did we get a shock , firstly no draught beer only overpriced small bottles & the meal deal was 2 courses £35 or 3 courses for £45 , no choice of just 1 course , the eating area was lovely too , breakfast was also here & not of the high class the evening meal was , breakfast price if not part of a deal was £20 which again is very overpriced, great staff but far too stuffy for no real reason , so I’d book b & b with an evening meal as if you don’t then add £70-£90 for your meal plus another £40 for breakfast 🍳
Okay 5.0
Pros: Polite staff. Comfortable rooms
Cons: Not having my room cleaned each day, which is crazy and makes no sense as they would have to do it if a different person slept there each night.l and the fact that I was there for a few nights minimizes their exposure. The bill was wrong although it looks like an error on the system which we rectified at the desk.
Good 6.0
Pros: I liked the location of this hotel as there was plenty of free parking
Cons: The room we stayed in (301) was very tired and was in dire need of refurbishment the carpet and furniture were faded and chipped. There were dirty marks on the walls and the hot tap in the bathroom needs tightened up as it is loose. We stayed here last September and had a far nicer room which was bigger and light and airy this one was small dark and dingy.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: We had the suite in the circular tower which was awesome. However shower delivered a trickle of water very disappointing and toilet cistern took at least 10 mins to refill. If they would sort these two issues with en-suite room would be fabulous…. Views were incredible in the morning.
Cons: Breakfast lacked enormously as Scottish breakfasts are famed for brilliance
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The room was spacious and of a really high standard. Breakfast was really nice. The restaurant food was excellent.
Cons: The hotel is away from any other restaurants but the only choice for evening meal was a set menu for £45. Though the food was excellent you couldn't eat that every day of your stay so another a la carte menu would suite more people.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Free parking plenty of room, Quick check in large room good shower bed comfortable.
Cons: Limited choice in restaurant same each day £32 for sirloin steak a little expensive i feel. French wine £49 a bottle .DONT MIND PAYING FOR GOOD FOOD AND WINE but very average quality.

Pros: Reception staff were very welcoming, room was clean and adequate.
Cons: The mattress, very soft. The lack of information in the room, no telephone numbers for contacting reception etc No one directing residents at breakfast, self service was okay but we had to constantly ask for plates, mugs cutlery.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Such a lovely hotel, booked last minute due to being let down by another hotel. Receptionist was lovely and went above and beyond when she realised my mum was disabled and needed a disabled access room.
Cons: Nothing, was a lovely hotel
Good 6.0
Pros: Location was great as we were visiting family
Cons: Breakfast was really poor and bed was quite small
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Due to C19, breakfast not as good as usual.
Cons: Nothing really.
Good 7.6
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Great buffet breakfast. Roomy rooms. Located not too far from a bus stop, so easy to get places. We stayed here 4 years ago, and liked it.
Cons: Would be nice if they had transportation to/from train/bus stations, but getting there via the city bus is not too difficult (as long as a bus driver doesn't mislead you as to when your next bus really is). It was our most expensive room on the trip.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: very convenient

Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Covid protocols seemed to be adhered to quite well.
Cons: Carpets in room heavily stained. Large patches of walls in room over painted with different colour paint to rest. Bathroom not really clean. Windows not clean. Some of the reception staff not very courteous / off. Bought a drink in the bar, when I got close to the bottom of the glass there were several small black objects stuck in the bottom of the glass on the inside. Given the standard of cleanliness experienced, cancelled our pool booking. Scotland v Czech game not shown in bar.
