Beautiful boutique hotel
The Chateau Montfort is a charming, warm boutique hotel in a great location in Milan. The design is whimsical, romantic, and elegant. The lobby area is good for tea, a cocktail, or a small business meeting. The restaurant breakfast buffet consists of quality ingredients, albeit at a price to match. The rooms are a good size, the bed extremely comfortable, and the wardrobe large enough to fit a weeks worth of clothes. The TV had the most of channels of any hotel TV anywhere. There were a variety of languages in the 150 channels so you can keep up with the news at home regardless of where home is. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke very good English.
The bathroom is beautiful, but I had a combo tub/shower with a curtain. I hoped for something better since everything else in the hotel exceeded my expectations. Again, this is nitpicking because the bathroom is otherwise very nice.
THE HOTEL Conceived under the creative direction of Wanders & yoo and overseen by iconoclast businessman Martin Lee, Mira Moon is the most vibrant hotel in Hong Kong's pulsing Wan Chai and Causeway Bay area. Characters from China's Moon Festival fairytale are artistically reinterpreted throughout, with shades of orange, brown, and light green reflecting the surrounding neighborhood's colorful nightlife. Everywhere, from the 91 tech-filled bedrooms and spacious bathrooms to the hotel's secret garden, the mood is positive yet informal, making fashion-conscious globetrotters and business types feel equally at home. MADE BY ORIGINALS Vice-chairman of Henderson Land, CEO of Miramar Hotel and Investment Company, and director of The Hong Kong and China Gas Company, Martin Lee is a man with a great drive to do the impossible. In 2009, he transformed the timeworn Hotel Miramar into The Mira Hong Kong, an incredible urban luxury sanctuary. More recently he created Mira Moon, now the most vibrant hotel in Hong Kong’s humming Causeway Bay. Not afraid to marry sleek and chic with style and sophistication, Lee is causing people to rethink the very notion of hospitality in this Asian financial capital. ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN At Mira Moon an internationally celebrated design team married high ceilings and open-plan public spaces with ancient Chinese fairytale themes. Here, traditional craftsmanship abounds, and includes timber paneling, orange-yellow carpets, glazed ceramics, and floral window blinds that recall early Chinese myths. The hotel lobby, meanwhile, boldly mixes textures with shades of coffee, carrot, and avocado echoing. Taken all together, the hotel is a beauty to behold and like nothing else in Hong Kong.
