The hotel has a lovely pool and excellent staff (especially in the club lounge). They are being let down by the things I will list in the "things I didn't like section"
I have been coming to this hotel since 1998 and last came with my family in August 2018. I was shocked at how much it had changed for the worse. I had booked a club lounge room (as I always do) for which you pay quite a bit extra. In the past it had always been worth it with a dedicated check in area which meant no queuing; breakfast served in the club lounge which likewise meant no queuing and a two hour period between 5.30 and 7.30pm when free drinks and snacks were provided. Only the drinks and snacks remain. It all used to add up to a little bit of exclusivity. Check in is now downstairs with everyone else and breakfast likewise. Also, there always used to be a member of staff who could book things for you like the airport shuttle. No longer sadly. So whilst you pay for a premium service you don't get one any more. other hotels are doing this sort of thing so much better. On the subject of breakfast:- breakfast is meant to be served until 10.30am. They make a big deal of an omelette/eggs chef who prepares things fresh for you... only he seems to knock off at about 10 when they start to clear everything away...pretty poor really as if you get down after he has gone and he has cleared his stuff away that's that...and if you don't get there early do not expect hot food...lukewarm at best. It used to be so much better. (Read my former glowing reviews) Finally the hotel used to provide a shuttle bus to Mong Kok MTR which would then carry on to down town by the Peninsula. The second leg has now disappeared. Cheap! The handy phones which are all over Hong Kong and provided free by the hotels (allowing free international calls and data) ceased working in this hotel after half a day and were removed without ceremony or explanation. This place needs to sharpen up its act considerably. Would like to know what they think of this review before I even consider returning.
breakfast was ok nothing special club room room was under funded the waiter trying to give good service the lack of guests talks for itself poor quality from a4 star hotel
better value for money
The staff in the front desk Jori Tam only helped her friend when they meet, she hasn’t ask who is the first customer should her serve！
The spacious room
No much restaurants in the area
I had a very comfortable stay for 2 weeks, great location and pleasant facilities
My only complaint would be the gym opening hours, 7:30-7:30 is not very flexible for those working or attending events during their stay
