Pros: Staff was super amazing. The interior/exterior, food and dining area were TOP NOTCH. The moment you step into the lobby the vibe is positive and inviting. The breakfast buffet, poke bowls, and dinner were all superb and not terribly priced. The room was toned to a very green energy. I took pics of the room simply for its pleasantness. Did I mention the Poke bowls?

Pros: This place is excellent. Seriously nice. The staff is awesome, too. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of its location. As a tourist, it's a bit removed from where you want to be in HCMC. I got a great deal, though, and taxis are cheap and easy to get.

Pros: This hotel is nice enough and has a fantastic location. We had just stayed in Singapore earlier in the week and thought there was no comparison. If you really want to spoil yourself- try the Park Hyatt right across the street. Everything was good- just not amazing. I might also try New World Hotel or the new Intercontinental. The location for both New World and Intercontinental aren't as good but the Intercontinental is brand new and may have higher standards. I believe the New World is foreign owned and managed.

Pros: Great value for the money, the location that can't be beat and a supremely friendly staff!
Everyone seems to know where the "Lan Lan" is. From the Uber drivers, Grab guys, locals, etc. It sits on a great road near a bus stop, is right down the street from the central (and night) market, and is one block away from the open air food market.
The price ... great!
This time I chose the VIP room knowing that this would be one of the last times I'd be able to pick it as they ownership of the hotel is changing. Great room, great tub, loved the shower curtain, and the AC makes everything great! Being up on the 10+ floor means you're separated from the noise of the street, and the veranda to just sit and watch the world go by ... awesome.
The food, a breakfast that will fill you up and get you set up for a day of exploring and enjoying that which is Vietnam also is a win!
I'll travel here with my fiancee, my sister, my mother, friends, etc. It was simply one of the best choices in Saigon!
You'll be missed Lan Lan2!

Pros: The people are super friendly, and the location is awesome - right next to the central market.
The staff is attentive and the food in the morning makes getting up worth while.
Loading up on food in the morning sets you up for success in the day, and they stock bottled water in the room in case you aren't trusting of the water of VN (don't worry, it's fine). In addition, there's a mini-fridge to keep your supplies cool, with a Circle-K market right next door in case you want snacks.

Pros: Booked a room for my mother (Vietnamese) and she loved the hotel. It not only came recommended from her friends in the US, but they were very accommodating for her needs when she got there.
They relocated her to a room with a street view (window actually opens) and it reminded her of years ago when she lived in Saigon.
It's a great hotel, friendly staff and the people simply make it a great experience.
And many people already recognize and know this hotel - obviously :)

Pros: We had a "grand suite" ; 100sq m of 1st class accommodation - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large lounge area. Spotlessly clean throughout the hotel . All the staff from the doormen to the waiters could not have been more helpful; always smiling and willing to help. The breakfast choice was top notch, catering for Asian and Western tastes. The hotel also serves lunch and dinner which we enjoyed immensely, with main courses from about £3 to £12 and there are buffets on the 12th floor of the new wing with superb city views. Good length outdoor pool, inexpensive bars and a small "casino", which I didn't use so can't comment on. 7 nights with most meals for 3 (+ up to 4 guests) + extras = $2000. Full marks all round.

Pros: Eventually we appreciate the staff in remedying an major issue. We booked the hotel for 12/31/2015, in order to celebrate the day and New Year Eve night in a 5 star hotel.
When we arrived at the hotel and were informed the pool, which was a major key in our booking this hotel, would be closed to guests due to a New Years Eve party being setup at the pool for that evening. We explained that we booked this hotel in order to enjoy the day pool side and diner that evening.
In tradition of the Asian culture, we were told repeatedly that the reason was for the setup for the NYE party that night. As if this explanation would 1) resolve our issue and 2) be an acceptable reason as to not be concerned that we were land locked to our room and not out at the pool.
We conveyed that we had contacted the hotel directly, prior to booking to 1) confirm that their was no compensatory costs due to the holiday booking and 2) that we would not have anything excluded that would normally be available to guests at the hotel. Such as any construction, pool and spa access. We were told no issues or restrictions. So we booked.
After much heated discussion, at check-in, a manager availed and provided a remedy of allowing us to transport, for pool time, to a lesser quality and star level property at their expense of a taxi. In addition, provided us access to a higher level room and lounge service. However, no offer of access to the New Years Eve party at the pool, unless we paid the $50 fee.
We appreciate the effort they made but they went kicking and screaming in providing a remedy. Unless we pushed our unhappiness and not settling on how we should be happy to be lied to about the pool access, before booking, we would have not received the appropriate attention a hotel guest should receive from a 5 star hotel.
On another note: The guests, and condoned by the floor management, allowed other guests in the adjacent room, to go in and out, back and forth among the multiple rooms with no respect to the amount of noise they made with doors slamming against the dead bolt constantly for 5 plus hours non-stop.
