4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were spacious as was the bathroom, was one of the best we've had in Japan. A few restaurants in the hotel, and right across the road from a big shopping centre with cafes and groceries.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Great staff and service. - Best location in the city: it's the city's only tall building, connected to the station as well as a number of restaurants and some shops (including convenience stores). Also connected to the Museum of Musical Instruments, and a ~20 min walk to the (reconstructed) Hamamatsu Castle (and adjoining park). - Amazing breakfast: great gyōza, some of the best hash browns I've ever had (and I've been to the US a lot), lots of options. - Comfortable room, incredible view from the 38th floor.
Cons: - WiFi was REALLY laggy, annoying to browse sites and made voice calls impractical. Noticed it to some extent even on the lobby. - Bath/Gym/etc were under maintenance during the week of my stay, this should ideally have been communicated back when I booked. - Rooftop observatory sees only North and South, otherwise you could potentially have some cool view of Mt Fuji and Lake Hamana.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic. I enjoy it everyday.
Cons: Can’t think of any now. ;-)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is near the station which was great for getting to Shizuoka and Suzuka
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Right next to Hamamatsu station, it’s a perfect place to base yourself for a stay in the Shizuoka prefecture. We were there for the rugby and the staff were able to accommodate our slightly earlier check-in to make it easier for us to get to the game on time. Truly good hosts. We got stuck there during typhoon Hagabis and they were most accommodating being able to provide another room for an extra night. The Teppanyaki Restaurant has amazing views of the city.
Cons: Rooms are a touch dated, but don’t let that stop you booking.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely onsen of several pools.
Cons: The buffet breakfast and dinner are the same if you stay more than one night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The 3 onsen options, the layout and size of the rooms was amazing and very comfortable. The staff were very nice and made an effort to communicate in English as much as they could.
Cons: The walk from the front desk to the room was quite long but in a way that added to a sense of seclusion which was actually quite nice... a little more English information about how to get around the hotel and local attractions would have been appreciated.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely resort for family holidays

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely traditional Japanese hotel. Staff amazing despite the language barrier. Traditional Japanese breakfast only which was fine for me but so much if you can't cope with not having something western!

5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful and cheap
Cons: Rooms are tiny and bathrooms are cheap
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and the main station. We got the deluxe room and I would recommend it as the jacuzzi/bathtub was great after a day of exploring and there was a nice view. The free soda machine in the lobby after coming in from the sun.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good and comfortable beds, welcome drink bar
Cons: It's a very old hotel and it shows in the washroom design and many more things. .mm thisnhou
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was compact but well arranged, with cabinets for everything – it felt like a nice ship cabin in that respect. Features included a mini fridge, DVD player, a big TV, microwave, water dispenser and plugs everywhere. There was even an automatic light panel by the bed and a Jacuzzi tub, plus tons of shampoo and random beauty samples both in the lobby and in the room.
Cons: Our room wasn’t the easiest to sleep in. Besides a very firm mattress, the wind was rattling the AC unit in our room in a random manner (this may be something unique to the top floor?). The room was rather bright too.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hospitality and info provided. Nice ryokan experiences.
5.0 Okay
Pros: 1. Nice area for relaxation. There's spa, onsen, fishing activity, ferry, cable car, zoo, for families and kids- overall area of this location.
Cons: 1. Far, it takes around one hour on bus no.30 to reach to the place, and needing to pay 620 yen each way, which is steep (a return for two person would already cost 2480 yen). Price and time wise, it's better to stay near the train station which totaled up would cost similar, minus the travelling time. 2. the unit is rather run down, similar to other units. I mean the location has great potentials, but lack refurbishment aspect of it- it looks old. 3. The unit itself is run down, in another word, it maintains how it looks like since in the past, but it also means the ceramic tile walls are old, the bathroom door is very old, and the main door which is rather difficult to lock. 4. In need of refurbishment.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner of this ryokan was possibly the most helpful, cheerful, lovely man ever.
10.0 Excellent

Another side of ryokan opposite with another lake beach (walk in 5 mins). + Have a free parking. + Owner is very and very nice guy , I totally recommend you all to rest here. Owner can speak English and lovely communication with us. We will miss him.
Cons: + Have no elevator , if you all have big luggage. + May inside hotel still allow guest smoke inside the guest room , we smell a little bit during walking inside hotel , but on our room after close the bedroom door , don’t get smoke smell.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Ojisan at the reception was very welcoming. Room was old fashioned, tatami, shooji etc. which was lovely. It's near the lake, saw one of the best sunsets. The nearby restaurants were very local and nice. (Tried the onagi internal, memory is still vivid) Was an excellent trip!
Cons: No elevator(but it's alright).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the ryokan was the kindest and the most helpful person I´ve met during my international travels. It felt like staying with family in a guesthouse with a beautiful view at the lake and amazing restaurants around. I lacked words to thank the owner for being such a sweet human being and for offering us such a pleasant stay. Highly recommended!!
