Rooms were spacious and the staff were friendly. Nice views from the room.
It doesn’t look like they have done much to it since they built it so has quite a dated feel. The hotel is quite remote which is nice on the one hand because of the views of the lake but if you are there in the evening you’ll be lucky if you can get a meal in any of the restaurants. When we arrived in the evening on the first night we were told to go to 7/11 because they were “fully booked” despite the restaurants being relatively empty...
Compared to intercity hotels the room size was very good.
Location nowhere near anything else. The 3 hotel restaurants were either fully booked, closed or ridiculously expensive. I've stayed in far superior hotels in Japan for far less money. No way that should have 4 stars. Rooms and bathrooms are all very tired.
Huge soulless room
Bathroom Food Lack of bar Totally isolated Needs totally upgraded
The bathroom was out of date and far too small Hot water tap was feeble No water bottles Totally outdated safe Dreadful restaurants with no English translation available Vastly overpriced Very limited shuttle service so felt totally isolated No bar The whole huge hotel was TOTALLY SOULLESS IT WAS BY FAR AND AWAY THE WORST HOTEL WE HAVE STAYED IN DURING OUR 3 weeks (10 hotels) in Japan
Comfortable hotel with good clean rooms.
It is out of town with no public transport. The only way of getting around is the hotel provided bus (5 times a day)or walking a distance for public transport. The swimming pool (in October) looked like it hadn’t been used for some time and the outside space looked unkept.
