2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Amichay knew his service.
Cons: Terrible experience, over priced, the staff was not welcoming, had to beg to eat dinner, had to beg to somehow get into the spa. Order a drink at the lounge ? Preper to get blood stained napkins and beg for your drinks. Rooms were lacking in all aspects and old. My very first complaint, and feedback form. Sorry but this was t e r r i b l e and this comes from a person who who is very well traveled.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Facilities are nice, 2 pools outdoor and indoor and lots of hiking trails around the property. Food is very nice and very clean hotel.
Cons: Hotel could use a facelift. Furnishings are a little shabby.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view and the relaxing atmosphere. Although it is possible to see the years the hotel is well maintained
Cons: The spa treatments are overpriced. The dinner must be updated to current time standards. It looks like were back in the 90’s

Pros: Breakfast was outstanding. Very helpful host. Provided us 2 breakfast boxes when we were unable to eat at the dining room. Room very clean. Excellent views of the city, the Bahai gardens and the sea. registration staff very helpful.
Cons: The shower door was difficult to keep water off the floor and the water temperature was hard to adjust.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is central and comfortable, 3 minutes walking to the Carmelit (subway). The room was fantastic, comfortable bed, excellent stream in the shower, beautiful view of the whole bay. The staff was wonderful - in the bar at the lobby and especially at reception, especially Tal Daskal, who helped us above and beyond, as we had some issues with the booking. We highly recommend the hotel and we will definitely be back.
Cons: It was too short!
7.0 Good

Cons: It's a bit dowdy and 70s looking but clean. Breakfast was ok. The bath was very small
6.3 Good
Pros: We’ve stayed in this hotel three times in 2019. The staff were nice and polite. We had a great bay view from our room on the 15th floor. It is very close to a lot of nice shops, restaurants in the Carmel area. Breakfast was bountiful and very good.
Cons: The hotel is old, needs renovations and the carpet smells.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent. Staff pleasant and helpful-Fadi very welcoming. Breakfast very good. Room was a little small and there was some noise from the street. On the whole would be happy to come again.
Cons: Bed and maybe windows that keep out the noise. We were on the upper floor-may be better on lower floor.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast, friedly and helpful staff.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was excellent and every effort was made to ensure our comfort. Rain shower shower was delightful in a spacious and well equipped bathroom. Good beds and linens and all very clean. The kettle and cups in the room were a nice touch. I really enjoyed the cool lemonades and coffee that were available on a complimentary basis all day/evening. Breakfast was fresh and excellent. Fabulous bread and pastries. Top marks for a splendid small hotel with an excellent staff.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel manager was amazingly helpful. She assisted us in planning our day and a half visit to Haifa; she gave great recommendations about seeing the holiday lights in the German Colony and where to eat in the evening. She also made us a dinner reservation. The breakfast was ample and delicious. It was more food than we expected. Our room was petite like the hotel but cheerful and very clean. This seemed to be a hotel where Israelis stayed and we appreciated not being in such a touristy place. The location is a bit off the beat and track but we liked it. The hotel is very near the beach front and a short cab ride to the downtown. We enjoyed walking along the beach and watching the kite surfers. We hiked up to the top of Mt Carmel to see the university and the Stella Maris Chapel and rode the cable car down. We appreciated the free parking close by.
Cons: As mentioned above, this hotel is near the beach and further from the center of the City so you need a car or a cab to visit many of the sights. The hotel is very tiny. The breakfast area has some seating but can feel crowded. There is outside seating but it was a bit brisk in December for sitting outside in the AM.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff, location, quiet A/C, speaking foreign languages,
Cons: small bathroom, mediocre breakfast, small breakfast area,
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Lots of items were readily available from coffee, tea and sweeteners to room supplies. It was convenient and within walking distance to the train station. We'd stay there again.
7.0 Good
Pros: Super helpful stuff and great location.
Cons: Breakfast was not good enough.

7.5 Good
Pros: Very modern and clean throughout. The gym was even ok, if a little small.
Cons: The breakfast needs improving. It’s the 2nd time I’ve stayed their and a limited selection on fruit and hot food. Slow service in the lobby for food and drinks.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good, but the staff has difficulty keeping up with the demand. The Omelet Chef was very good, cheerful, and helpful.
Cons: Overall the hotel's processes need review to make them more customer-oriented. From check-in, to parking, to getting into the breakfast the first time, everything seemed to have a laborious process. Finally, the chamber maids need to be more detail oriented. The bathroom floor had many hairs on it that did not come from me...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view. Nice hotel in great rooms. Kind crew. So this was a very good stay.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing customer service, everything was perfect specially the reception was so friendly and nice . Thank you all again .
6.3 Good
Pros: View from the room
Cons: outdated
5.8 Okay
Pros: It’s got some style, and you get nice views.
Cons: Where to start? The beds were not comfy. The family room pretty basic. The breakfast was disappointing. Pool closed. Gym in a basement room. It’s supposed to be five star hotel but the only thing thats 5* is the price we paid.
Colony Hotel Haifa - Haifa - Building
5
8.7 Excellent (1,126 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Colony Hotel Haifa places you in the heart of Haifa, within a 15-minute walk of Baha'i Gardens and Shkolnik Art. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.0 Good
Pros: We enjoyed a very nice breakfast buffet sitting in a beautiful room
Cons: Our mattress felt like unbendable steel. Our pillows felt like large bricks. The front desk told us at night that these are the pillows and that was it. However, the next day, the manager brought us thinner pillows. They were as hard as the first ones, but better for stomach–sleepers. No one offered us a credit for the ruined first night. The wi-fi on the first night was sporadic, but workable. The second night, it did not work at all. This was our forth time at the hotel. The room looked run down from the last time we had visited, with scratches on the furniture. The overall design of the hotel had attracted us with its authentic feel of the Art Deco details and subdued colors. This time, the hotel rented out the walls in the main–floor hall or took on commission colorful artwork of dubious distinction that clashed with the style of the hotel. It really destroyed the style of the original decor.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: hard to find parking around.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely pictures depicting the tradition and history of the hotel
Cons: I try hard to understand Shabat philosophy, and of course to respect it. No room service Friday pm (18:00) No waffles for breakfast (travelling with a 14 year old who day one had four of them)
6.0 Good
Pros: Attractive hotel with well appointed rooms. Good location in the German Colony district.
Cons: One of the most impersonal hotels I have stayed in in a long while. Dining room closed in an evening. Rooftop terrace bar closed due to rainy weather. Staff rather disinterested. Breakfast room not large enough to accommodate all guests. Breakfast buffet did not include any type of meats.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great for couples.
Cons: It's on a busy main street, noisy throughout the day and night.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location, stuff, atmosphere, bar.
Cons: price, could be cheaper and price for israelis in booking does not contain WAT - so it is a bit surprised to pay 17% more at payment state. Breakfast at saturday was nice but could be better. Coffee :o( was not tasty at all.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located, this wonderful hotel in the German section is the perfect place to stay. The main thorough fare on which it is situated is lively with street food, restaurants and shops. The hotel is withing walking distance to the Baha'i Gardens which is a must see for any visitor. The rooms are comfortable and clean; the reception pleasant, the bar always open, and the breakfast delicious. Though no on premise parking, a public lot is free and right around the corner.

7.1 Good
Pros: Staff was very nice. Location is super.
Cons: The room wasn't very clean, I found hairs on the pillow. Wifi is working quite poorly. It's heated by airco, therefore in the night is loud and dry if you want to keep warm.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: good location
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, just a few minutes from a train station, close to the city centre with lots of venues. Good and helpful service. Amazing breakfast, everything was super delicious and fresh.
Cons: Beds and facilities were not in the best shape. But not a big deal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean, staff were very friendly and above all in a good location
6.0 Good
Pros: Fantastic location! The staff is really friendly and polite. Everything is well organized. There are 5 hooks in the shower so your clothes/towel don't need to sit on the floor (or hang from the door handle) like every other hostel in Israel. There is an outlet right next to the bed. There is a decent and cozy lounge area with couches, chairs and tables to hang out. There is also a nice pretty backyard.
Cons: The bathroom was wet with no mat and a lot of hair on the floor. The shower itself has no shelf to put your toiletries so they need to sit on the floor as you shower. The bunk bed is metal and pops loudly as you adjust your weight. The mattress wasn't especially comfortable. There is no shelf next to your bed to place stuff so everything must sit on the bed right next to you.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful Good breakfast Nice garden Everything in good working order
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all amazingly helpful. It is close to the train station and the German colony with good restaurants and bars close by. Excellent breakfast buffet. I would definitely stay here again.
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff very friendly and polite
Cons: Very small room with old furniture and dirty walls (no pics of rooms on the page

4.0 Okay
Pros: The location is amazing, wonderful view of the beach (if you’re lucky with the window heading). Spacey room
Cons: I’ve booked a room with king size bed, got a single bed. I checked in pretty late and didn’t want to complain. The furniture is pretty old. Price was definitely high for what the hotel can offer (+200 USD per night). I found my bed pretty uncomfortable.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The view
Cons: Poor service, low hygiene - dirty, bad & unfreshed food.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Locations
Cons: Need to be refurbish
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: The hotel's location
Cons: We paid over $500 for the "royal suite". I have never seen a room as bad as this one (and we travel all the time!). There were blood stains on the sheets... The chairs were broken. The room was extremely noisy. It was an absolutely awful experience. The only good thing is we managed to cancel our 2nd and 3rd night at the hotel but one night in the "royal suite" was enough to turn me off of any Leonardo hotels ever. An awful experience!
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location. Nice breakfast. Child like TV channels
Cons: A bit old run down. Windows not sealing well. Quite expensive...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close proximity to beach and restaurants, nice swimming pool, comfortable room, good beach view from room balcony, great breakfast! 20min walk to the train station if you want to get to Haifa city centre for some sightseeing, beautiful beaches to walk along

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and the pool were very nice. The location is the best in Haifa
Cons: It was an electricity problem in the room.It takes hours to send the technician to fix the problem

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel feels a bit like an oasis of comfort and luxury in the midst of the busy city. It's a beautiful historic building and the rooms are beautifully furnished. Beds were very comfortable. The staff were always available to help with whatever we needed. We had a wonderful night's sleep and were then absolutely delighted by the breakfast buffet, which surpassed any other we had experienced anywhere. The food was delicious! They also offer an evening happy hour. Both breakfast and happy hour are served in their glassed in terrace. It was a lovely stay and we didn't want to leave.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast Very friendly stuff Clean
Cons: A bit remote from bars and restaurants but still easy 15 min walk to German Colony and train station...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything else?
Cons: Breakfast s little disappointing
4.0 Okay
Pros: Its a small cozy boutique hotel, near the restaurants at the port, walking distance to the subway line. We chose this hotel primarily because of its sister hotel in Jaffa old city - Market House. We were expecting the same kind of feel, decor and ambience. Its still a nice hotel, albeit small rooms.
Cons: Extremely small rooms. Comfortable, but very small. When traveling with 2 large bags, like we did, there was no room to walk about in when the bags were open, and this was when we took the larger rooms. Yes there was balcony, but still. Not enough space. Didn't have parking. Yes we were lucky enough every time that was a spot available in the street outside the hotel. The hotel was in a very quiet neighbourhood. My mistake was I didn't do enough research to notice that there were large hotels on the hill, with a view all around.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location Balcony
Cons: Nothing
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Size of the room
Cons: - Front office seems not interested at all in their guests - Would have been nice if they informed us in advance that the hotel was in a street fair for days (noise, hard to reach by car) - dont know why they call it a boetiek hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good value for moneuly overall. New and perfectly clean rooms in excellent location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely amazing facilities, kind staff, great location, great value for the money! I stayed in the 'unicorn room'- the one with the blue lights- and loved evey moment. The shower might just have been the best part of the amenities (youll have to stay to see...). AMAZING complimentary breakfast provided through a voucher with an adjacent resteraunt. Top notch all the way!! Also, the location in Haifa COULD NOT have been better, right at the foot of the Baha'i Gardens!
Cons: I liked it all. No complaints whatsoever.
7.5 Good
Pros: i like the room the place the attention..
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Templers is a small hotel and that gives it its charm! The rooms are quite large and the beds are good. It does not give you the ‘hotel’ feeling and that is often a pro! Additionally, it is located just next to/above one of the nicest restaurants in Haifa (and in front of some other ones).
Cons: Be aware that this hotel is located in the middle of the restaurant district of Haifa, so expect some noise to enter the room. The transparant doors in the bathroom of our particular room might be awkward for people that do not stay there as a couple.

6.6 Good
Pros: The hotel staff is friendly and helpful; this is a step up front usual Israeli hotel staff many of which do not understand the concept of customer service. Israeli hotels, especially outside of Tel Aviv are still grappling with this concept. Same for retail and food stores.
Cons: Unfortunately, Israel is great at building things but very poor at maintaining them. The Crowne Plaza is typical was built but 15 years ago and is already starting to look shoddy around the edges. We noticed that mold is starting to appear, especially in the bathrooms, and the wood trim is beginning to rot away; Haifa can be quite humid during certain times of the year. Also, the hotels A/C is either on or off, no temperature settings other than 4 settings indicating warmer or colder; after that is just stays on blowing. Friends of ours stayed at a competing Dan hotel, but the situation is the same. They characterized it as a "tired" Hyatt.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice area, close to the bahai gardens and a great view.
Cons: Could use a renovation.
5.0 Okay
Pros: good breakfast & facilities
Cons: the air conditioning was extremely noisy, it would have been impossible to sleep with it on;
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice buffet breakfast with terrific views from dining area. Indoor pool with sauna, steam room & hot tub were great! Front desk staff seemed confused & uninformed about local information regarding things in Haifa, such as where train station was, getting a taxi from the hotel, etc. Haifa is a VERY vertical city so taking a taxi most places is advised!! Hotel has great location relative to Ba"hai gardens
Cons: front desk staff could use more training altho they were very friendly.
5.4 Okay
Pros: View from the room
Cons: Maintenance could be better. Staff was not very friendly Breakfast was not of Good quality
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice view.
Cons: Basic room for the price in need of some maintenance. Floor boards coming apart and room was pretty small
7.5 Good
Pros: Wonderful bell-boy on arrival. Very helpful and super honest as we mistakenly gave him a tip in euros and he came back to tell us it was far too much!
Cons: They forgot to pick up breakfast -in - room order left on door overnight and then it took several calls before they sorted it out and delivered a breakfast correctly. However, they did the decent thing and didn’t charge for it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The manager Yoseb was very helpful in many ways.
5.8 Okay
Pros: the location was good
Cons: the sheets weren't changed and were soiled
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: -We had a hard time finding the location. There are no signs pointing to the place. Once we were on the street we had to ask people about the location. -The place is not a hotel and it shouldn't be listed under hotels on booking.com, it is a bedroom that the owners of the apartment are renting out. The owners live at the place and they are extremely loud and rude. -The first day we arrived we were placed in the bigger room with the kitchen, later that night someone came knocking on our door and asked us to move to the smaller room that didn't have the kitchen saying that there was a mistake on their part. I found that very unprofessional. Also, the person, who I assume was Yonas, asked us to pay the whole amount in cash that first night in a very rude and demanding manner. -In the pictures posted online, we saw that the room had a washing machine, however, when we arrived the owner said that the washing machine doesn't work. They did, however, wash our clothes twice when we asked them but when we asked a third time he said that he would charge us 100 shekel because the laundry was not a part of the deal. -The towels placed in our room were dirty and old. They smelled rotten. We had to ask them to change the towels. -On the second day of our stay, we heard the owner fighting very loudly with members of his family which was disturbing and frightening. We told the owner that we were unhappy and we wanted to leave. At this point, the owner was very rude and did nothing to help with the issue. -Additionally, the owner would not converse in English with us. Luckily my mother spoke some broken Arabic so we were able to get our message across. When I spoke to the owner about the issues that we had he would ignore me and only speak in Arabic. I thought that that was rude, considering that he made no effort to help resolve our issues. -The bathroom and room had no ventilation so the place always smelt like the gutter. -The place is not worth the price.

Cons: The facilities were poor. TV in the room did not work. Kettle did not work.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location was convenient for my work
Cons: -too much noise, parties every night until 1AM -Tv control didn’t work, they didn’t care to fixed it even after I told them three times - the only good thing at breakfast was the cappuccino - dirty walls and bathroom - front desk people were nice but to busy answering phones instead of taking care of the people already waiting - No internet in the room, very bad bad connection - lobby smell so bad
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed one night. My event was close by. The hotel looks modern. The room was very spacious and clean with a very nice balcony. The only thing it’s missing is view. Large closet with a safe. Refrigerator also cattle and enough supply to make coffee or tea. The breakfast was great. Even though it didn’t have enough bread selection. Close to big shopping mall.
Cons: I wish it had a view and more bread selection.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very accommodating and pleasant. My Breakfast was scheduled from 7 onwards snd was not ready till 7:30. My daughter had to leave for an appointment so couldn’t eat. They refunded me a bit on my stay to compensate me. (I had to ask for it but they did take some money off ) Location is great near Azrieli Mall and close to the beach. Room is very comfortable -
Cons: Room was updated but surprised that some things weren’t like cupboard doors on closet and drawers a little broken. Also locks on doors including out to balcony
7.0 Good
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Bathroom and office ambience
6.7 Good
Pros: Distance close to industrial park
Cons: Air conditioning did not work well, was not heating the room properly. I have to change 2 rooms (for 1 night stay) till a room with working heating was found.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
Cons: We paid for two double rooms with a patio but we were not given rooms with a patio- and was charged the higher price. There was a wedding that night which we were not told about upon arrival and was so loud that we had to change rooms in the middle of the night. There was nobody at the desk half of the time and when they were there they were not friendly. The parking lot was full when we got there and nobody answered to open the gate. One room had a large space between the wood slats which was painful to step on going in and out of the shower.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very communicative and responsible staff, nice apartment!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Communication: All our questions (posed via the booking site or WhatsApp later on) were answered promptly. We did not meet the owner. Payment: Went smoothly, no issues, we asked to pay part in cash and part by credit card, and there were no issues. Check-in/out: Key was placed in mailbox, we received the info. online (you will need to have an internet connection for that – or arrange beforehand). Location: Huge building block, at the beach, outside town (you need a car - free parking just outside, with plenty of parking spaces). Some eateries at the ground floor of the building, on the side of the beach. Apartment: It was on the 6th floor, with sea view, spacious (bedroom and living room, with sliding doors to separate). Bed was comfy, closet with space for hanging clothes, ironing board, iron. It was lovely to fall asleep listening to the waves (which were very loud since it was quite windy). In the living room/kitchen, there was also a sofa bed, small table and a kitchen table with four chairs, TV, plus microwave, fridge, water boiler (bring own coffee/tea, sugar), a cooker with two hotplates (bring own salt/pepper), washing machine (bring washing powder), some cutlery, plates, pans etc. Detergent for dishes provided as well as sponge. A/C worked fine. Plenty of sockets. Bathroom: clean, with a shower box, plenty of hot water (bring own shampoo etc). Two towels per person. Wifi: Worked fine.
Cons: The first day, someone came by to pick up cash payment and entered the apartment without knocking – luckily, we had placed the bolt and that prevented her from just barging in. Glasses and pans had not been washed properly and had stains. No shops to buy groceries close by.

Pros: Location is really good and it's right next to everything. I got the upgraded room which was very nice with my own bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. This is basic hotel where you can get a good night sleep on a budget.
Cons: Only 4 parking spaces..In a very cramped space. Yes parking is free but this could become a hustle sometimes during day when other cars park bad or block you.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff, clean room, working heating and hot waters in the shower what’s not evident for every hotel in Israel during winter, parking available for guests for free, very good value for money .highlly recommended!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is quite big, nice bed, good shower.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Racist staff, bad service, rude attitude. They knocked on our door at 12:28 PM, took the key while we pack, and said we have 15 minutes to leave. Came back 5 minutes later to stand in the room while we pack to make sure we leave ! Then called the supervisor and lied while slipping a racist remark. Definitely not going there again and I don’t recommend anyone to go there and I might considering suing them.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was good, the lady who welcomed us was very helpful, kind and informative. The hotel has the right price for what you get.
Cons: The door of the bathroom has windows facing into the room, with no screens or curtains at all!! The room faces on two noisy streets.

7.5 Good
Pros: Very modern and clean throughout.

Cons: outdated
5.8 Okay
Pros: It’s got some style, and you get nice views.
Cons: Where to start? The beds were not comfy. The family room pretty basic. The breakfast was disappointing. Pool closed. Gym in a basement room. It’s supposed to be five star hotel but the only thing thats 5* is the price we paid.

Pros: Location excellent. Staff pleasant and helpful-Fadi very welcoming. Breakfast very good. Room was a little small and there was some noise from the street. On the whole would be happy to come again.

Pros: Super helpful stuff and great location.
Cons: Breakfast was not good enough.
