10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was incredible- the best of all the places we stayed in Europe! The owners could not have been more helpful- always there to help plan hikes, outings, and dining experiences with excellent guidance. Buy your lift tickets through them. The room was spacious and well-appointed with modern, clean bathroom. Location is walkable to everything in town, but on the edge of everything for stunning views and a quiet, peaceful night’s sleep. Breakfast was so delicious with fresh-baked bread, fruits, local cheeses and jams, the perfect, hearty way to start a day of adventuring. We want to go back and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Grindelwald- nothing can match this hotel’s hospitality!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Very nice and accommodating staff. Room was beautiful with great views on the terrace. Beds were super comfortable. Very clean room and nice bathroom. The breakfast was vey good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were so helpful. The staff very friendly. The inn charming with its beautiful flowers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was slightly up hill on Main Street away from busiest part of town so more quiet yet easy to walk everywhere in town. Owners are 4 generations. Called Gary while on train to Grindelwald and he happily met us at train station for ride to hotel w luggage. Views from room and breakfast breathtaking looking at mountains.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. 9.6 Excellent
Pros: The perfect views
Cons: We have to walk too much for the train station and all of the markets.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. Great hotel! :)
Cons: Beds were for me personally very uncomfortable. Hard and the sheets/bed linnens were on the cheap side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel room was immaculate with a spectacular view. The balcony has a swing chair. It was so cozy to spend the morning on the chair with the sound of the rain. You can tell from the details that the hotel has put a lot of effort in providing the guests with the best experience. For example, the marshall bluetooth speaker (I need to get one!), the outdoor blanket, the welcome and check out snacks. The restaurant at the hotel was very good too.
Cons: 8 mins walk from the train station, not particularly a pleasant walk (pretty dark and a lot of cars passing by). Buses to and from the hotel only come once an hour. The hotel and the restaurant share the same reception desk, and with only one reception staff. It took us quite a while to check in and check out.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, good view, fantastic staffs!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. It is a dream world place.
Berggasthaus First - Grindelwald - Building
3
9.2 Excellent (689 reviews)
7.5 Good
Pros: We used the whole room so it was much better than I thought. You can see the great view and also the people going up and down the stairs lol It's a little complicated to get your room. But the toilet and the shower room was not so bad.
Cons: I couldn't see any breads.. just yogurt, coffee and milk. Maybe cause it was 7:30am? And you have to wait for the staff at the middle of the restaurant - he is kind, humorous and also busy doing lots of things. Haha.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is absolute breathtaking, great for end of hiking day from schynige platte. and once all the tourists are gone, it makes perfect photos. The dinner was fair, and the breakfast was very simple (bread, yogurt, cereals, ham and cheese) but ok. The staff lady was super nice and friendly. The shared bathrooms and showers are the cleanest I've seen
Cons: The bunk beds are standardly small, and only one electricity socket (the room actually had 2 sockets, but the one that the heater was connected to wasn't working), for a room of six people. I suggest bringing a power socket splitter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An incredible location with spectacular views of the mountains. Staff were exceptional. Food was great. Super relaxing and peaceful after the crowds left with the last gondola down the mountain. Amazing to have such a spacious, well equipped mountain lodge at this elevation. Couldn't imagine a nicer place to stay!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Host were super nice and location is perfect with mountain view! Very nice and not expensive dinner.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: After the last gondola going down at 5:30, we basically had the resort to ourselves, with our own personal bartender.
Cons: Small breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was in a dorm room, but I slept extremely well. The breakfast was simple but had the essentials. The showers are free and a towel is provided.
Cons: The showers are pretty far from the dorm rooms. Because of the accessibility (gondolas/easy walk along a gravel road from the Grosse Scheidegg), there are a lot of people during the day.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was extremely quiet and the person who worked there helped me so much
Cons: Nothing

Cons: It was a like a maze getting to my room. Little options for vegetarians.

Pros: Everything in hotel is awesome. Staff is friendly and helpful. It has a breathtaking view of Eiger mountain in the hotel room. Foods and drink provided in the room gave us chance to try a bite of Switzerland products. Breakfast has a variety of choices too.
Cons: A little bit far away from the station
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from the room is perfect. Many facilities on site, fitness center, sauna, spa and also yoga classes are offered. I joined a yoga class in the evening which I really like. Although the instructor taught in German I can follow her pretty well.
Cons: The wall in my room might to be repainted.

Berghaus Bort - Grindelwald - Building

9.1 Excellent (721 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Grindelwald, Berghaus Bort is in the mountains, within a 15-minute drive of Pfingstegg Cable Car and First Cable Car. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and the location of hotel is excellent in terms of the view outside. It was absolutely worth to visit the hotel bort. I would want to stay again.
Cons: The view from my room and a room for 4 people is a bit small
5.4 Okay
Pros: Very good view for Mt. Eiger
Cons: Very far location and need consider taxi or cable car which cost CHF 16-50 for single ride
7.9 Good
Pros: The view was great from above!
Cons: Extremely hard to get to by car. If you’re not travelling by car you’ll have to pay (not cheap) to use the cable car to get up and down from the hotel. Also the last cable car goes up at 4:30pm and the cable car may be closed due to weather! So just be mindful!
7.5 Good
Pros: The room itself was great, not too small, very modern bathroom with shower only, plenty of hot water.
Cons: The bed was awkward, kind of like a bunk bed, with steps up to it and no end tables or any place to set eyeglasses, phone, book, etc.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff and lovely location with an upclose view of the Eiger and surrounding Alps, separated only by a valley. It is at 1600 meters, adjacent to the Bort cable car station, 1st of three stations to the top. The elevation provides a unique perspective of the mountains, not available to hotels further down. This also means that by car, you’ll negotiate a very narrow road with sometimes a steep incline. The road can only be used by hotel guests so it is not open for public and not busy. This 3-km stretch off the main road may come as a surprise if you haven’t been made aware of it beforehand. You may encounter occasional cars or pedestrians. It is safe and you just have to be slow and patient. Takes around 15 mins at an average speed of 10-15 km/hr. The hotel emails this info once you book a room. During winters, it is only accessible by cable car. This also means that the hotel is isolated from the town. Grindelwald below offers dining options, but I preferred to stay at the hotel for the 1 night, because I didn’t want to drive down then up again at night. it can be done however. The restaurant at the hotel however compensates well with an excellent menu. A bit pricey but justified given the location. I was thoroughly amazed by the cleanliness and premium built quality of the hotel. Room was very comfortable and I was kept warm even though outside temp dropped to 4c in early September. The washroom for our particular room was not in-suite but across a small hallway. It was exclusively for us and accessible only by our room key card. The washroom was modern and beautiful. Overall, considering the alpine location, this family-run hotel has done an outstanding job and is well-worth the unique experience.
6.3 Good
Pros: View is great in the good weather day.
Cons: 1. We don’t have private bathroom, it separates from the room. 2. Flies in the restaurant 3. Noisy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome place, great views

Cons: Ask for AC room if needed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for three nights with breakfast, I also booked a cake and a dinner for my birthday. The meal is completely excellent. Breakfast is also good. We have the best mountain views every day to enjoy. The facilities in the house are clean and comfortable. Thank you for your hard work in serving us.
Cons: There is a room on our floor during the stay that is being renovated. Although not very noisy. It’s really not very comfortable for our minds about the ongoing vacation. I hope the hotel should announce in advance that there are interior decoration works in the hotel. Or on the that floor with construction is not open to guests.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: None
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The beds were not super comfy but the view and the size of our room made up for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was extremely desirable - close to absolutely everything and yet far enough away to experience the tranquility & awe one would expect of the Swiss Alps. Every single staff member we encountered was extremely helpful and friendly - lots of smiles and it was obvious they genuinely cared (or appeared too -haha). The view was...beyond what we knew to exist. We loved the gorgeous flowers on the terraces and the traditional heart-shaped pillows on the beds. And we especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast!!!!
Cons: Wish the restaurant and bar were open year-round (obviously not practical in off-season, as it isn’t fiscally advantageous). However, if the entire hotel is booked in the shoulder season, it seems like it would be a good idea! Maybe even just the bar?
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lots of thanks to Margaret on the reception. She helped a lot explaining what is located around, what could be visited and what could like kids. We were very appreciated that she tried to help us with our needs even after a work time. Near reception is located kids' corner with lots of toys. At breakfast, we enjoyed cheeses and bread.
Cons: Breakfast looked poor for us, while there were no food for kids.
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast provided some egg menus. Also there was an instant ramen.
Cons: Hotel was located from the train station within walking distance however hotel was on the slope. It was not easy to walk especially in hot weather. I knew there was no air conditioner in the room but no fan neither. It was hot to stay at room during hot weather days. My room had a balcony but the view was partially blocked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I am rating our stay 5 star! The hotel, the staff and the experience were amazing! Our room was big and clean plus we have a very nice balcony view which we enjoyed so much. Breakfast was really nice. Thank you to Juni in the reception for being so helpful in guiding and pulling our luggage in the middle of the thick snow. Also to the morning lady in the reception who was so helpful and approachable. (Apologies I forgot her name). Will never forget this hotel and hopefully can come back again.
Cons: Nothing! We love everything and I would probably rate them not just a 3 star but a 4 star
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room very clean with amazing views from room and verandah of green rolling hills and mountains. Great breakfast. Loved the cute heart cushions and red checkered curtains making it a real Swiss experience.
Cons: Did not know in advance that hotel provide complimentary pickup from the train station which would have been handy instead of pulling our suitcases up the hill.

Cons: Breakfast is too light
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was clean, nice, inexpensive, and only a two-minute walk from the train station. But the best part was the owner and host, Thomas, who couldn't have been nicer or more hospitable. I left early both mornings, before breakfast was open, to go climbing, so he kindly made me hot chocolate and breakfast -- and then also packed me lunch both days! Then, when I came back in the middle of the afternoon after a hard day of climbing, he gave me bread and a Coke Zero -- and didn't charge me extra for any of this!
Cons: Nothing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: very close to the train station, nice receptionist,
Cons: wifi signal is pretty weak at some corner rooms like mine (room307)

Comfy bed,- 2 twins pushed together with separate comforters. A small table with 2 chairs. A bench and place too leave shoes, coat rack and wardrobe for hanging clothes The hotel and restaurant was clean and had the Switzerland charm. We ate breakfast buffet which were traditional in this area of Europe...meats, cheese, some veggies, cereals, yogurt, hard cooked eggs, croissants and breads, coffee, tea, water, juice, some fruits. The inn keeper was very pleasant and helpful. We did not eat dinner In the hotel restaurant but tried another place in town. Grindelwald is a Lovely quaint Swiss tourist town - skiing in winter and hiking in the summer.we were there in late September. Many hiking trails of varying difficulty. Easy train access to other valleys and major mountains in the area. Lots of shops for ski/winter apparel ...some local wool apparel as well. For a small town there were a lot of hotels and other accommodations for visitors and places to eat. Grocery store nearby. On the side of the mountain so lots of hilly terrain to hike.

I would book and stay again if I return to Grindelwald and definitely would recommend to anyone travelling to this beautiful Swiss town.
Cons: The only thing that I would recommend would be to add hooks in the bathroom for clothing to hang on while showering. Since I was staying in the room with my son, the bathroom was the private space for getting dressed. But really, that is a minor concern. The place was great!

Pros: The hotel room was modern, clean and roomy. We Were lucky and got a room that actually slept 4 so extra space with a fold-out couch.

Pros: Not far from the train, with everything you need close by. Wonderful croissants and coffee with assorted meats and cheese for breakfast. There was also fruits, cereals, yogurts, orange juice, boiled eggs - a good variety. Room was nicely appointed and clean with an amazing view of the Eiger. I would definitely recommend.

Noisy
