Greta location. Very charming and historic. It didn’t have all the amenities of a new hotel but it’s very nice still.
No staff wore masks (June 2020). No AC or coffee maker in room when listing said there would be. No chair in room. Stuff and previous guest socks under bed. Outside area was smoking area you had to walk through to get to your vehicle. Was given a very dark and drab room when there were clearly nicer rooms available you could see on walk to shared bathroom. Room door was opened by unmasked staff at 9 a.m. when checkout was 11 a.m.
The atmosphere was amazing! The room was clean and comfortable.
There wasn’t a continental breakfast provided as advertised online.
The staff was very friendly. They were welcoming.
When we got there they gave us a fan for our room. There seems to be ducting and vents for A/C, but we were not offered that. Just a fan. The temperature wasn’t too bad when we checked in. I was there with 4 of my children traveling back to CA. We immediately went to dinner after dropping our bags in the room. When we returned, upon sitting on the bed I found it covered in gritty dirt. Now I felt uncomfortable. I could put up with the antiquity of the building, but I expect the room to be clean. I felt very uncomfortable in the dirty bed. And the temperature in the room continued to increase. It’s seemed to get stuffier and hotter as time went on. I tried opening the small windows and only one was in working order. By 1:00am I was watching time go by, sweating, and watching my kids toss and turn uncomfortably. I had 900 miles to drive the next day, and needed sleep, so we packed up and went elsewhere. When we left the room the temperature in the hallway was much cooler than the room. The doubletree we went to was $10 less expensive for the night. I was VERY unhappy, but finally got the comfortable rest I needed.
In the middle of downtown so very walkable.
The hotel is large so heat is turned off in areas. I was in one of those areas and the rooms are very poorly heated. The baseboard heater put out almost no heat so a space heater was provided. Even with both heaters it took hours to warm the room up.
