Pros: When I booked the Brafferton Inn, I did not realize it was a bed and breakfast and was only expecting a continental type meal when "breakfast included" was listed. What we received was an amazing breakfast which included individual bowls of fruit, homemade pastries, and a choice of 5 entrees--different each day. Our accommodations ended up being a charming apartment (modern bath, bedroom, and sitting room) overlooking a main street in the quaint town of Gettysburg. From the "secret garden" courtyard to the relaxed atmosphere of the parlor, this Inn is definitely a hidden gem and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Pros: The owners at A Sentimental Journey were extremely friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend and I loved that we were central in Gettysburg and nearly everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. We couldn't have asked for a better spot! We were lucky enough to have an entire unit to ourselves due to the slower season. Everything was in good shape while still having an older, quaint feel to it. 10/10 for comfort! The part we liked the most was that breakfast was 24-hour self serve; they provided numerous breakfast items such as bagels, yogurts, cereals, danishes, and more. There was coffee, tea, milk, and a microwave as well as a toaster oven. It was nice to be able to get some food whenever we woke up instead of rushing downstairs like most B&B's. We hope to visit again!!

Pros: The location can’t be beat, it’s directly downtown, walking distance to countless bars and restaurants, as well as the historic sites on the other side of town. The rooms are all spacious and clean, and the staff was great.
Cons: The one complaint I do have is about the breakfast itself. The offerings were a little too “bready,” one day the main course was blueberry french toast that was ostensibly just a big piece of bread pudding, another day was just regular french toast as the main course. Everything was tasty and presented well, but you just wish there was more protein involved. Each day there was a little fruit salad and a muffin, so on the days where it was the french toast, it was right behind a muffin.

Pros: Great location, friendly staff, free breakfast!
Cons: Inn should encourage eco-friendly practices, small bathroom/tub/shower, small t.v.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the convenience to shopping, you just walk everywhere and it was near the battlefields and cemetery. I loved the 24/7 coffee, the free breakfast was great (lots of choices) and at night there was cookies and cider. These things made this hotel stand out and I will definitely be staying again.
Cons: I can't say there was anything I didn't like.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was probably what we liked most about the hotel. You're within walking distance to most of what you should do while in Gettysburg, such as the ghost tours and battlefield tours, including being across the street from Soldier's National Cemetery.
Cons: No, it was what we expected, maybe even a bit better than expected.

There is plenty to do in this town. Just a nice clean place with very friendly staff and a great breakfast buffet and you are good to go

Cons: The hotel is old and run down. Our friends in another room found bed bugs and had to change room. The staff was very accommodating and refunded their money but we were all uneasy spending the night at the hotel. The room fees are very high for the qualitY

Pros: The bed was comfortable and the room was well dusted and vacuumed. The location is very convenient to the historic attractions.
Cons: The indoor pool was open but didn't look like the pump was running. The indoor pool area was very old and in desperate need of updates. The hot tub had been removed. The bathroom and sink could have been better cleaned. The breakfast pasties were stale.

Pros: Well sited within walking distance to downtown or the battlefield. Many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again.
Cons: The included breakfast in the ‘breakfast cottage’ is a bit cramped when full of guests. The prepared egg patties were horrible, and some had the consistency of cardboard. Better to walk up the street to Friendly’s for breakfast. My only gripe about my stay.

Pros: Great location to Gettysburg but we passed it the first time because the sign is so small. When we arrived it was 330am and the man at the front desk was very kind.
Cons: I would likely not book this location again. Open roll of tp, terribly small pillows(child-sized) and they could improve on using the vacuum, pool was cold, one of the worst continental breakfast I've ever seen, unless you just want a bagel or toast.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. There was mild surrounding the shower and toilet facilities, and other people’s hair all over the shower. The floor was not clean and had other people’s hair all over the bathroom and main room.

Pros: Room was very clean and comfortable, and good value.
Cons: Only rooms available were 2 x double beds and upstairs, so beds were a little small and it was a hassle taking all of our luggage upstairs, but that was luck of the draw due to being almost fully booked. Owner wasn't very talkative/friendly but wasn't rude either.

Pros: The location was excellent near restaurants and shopping centers, although their sign is very difficult to see and it is easy to drive past it (I drove past it on two occasions and had to turn around twice). It was affordable, and the rooms were updated.
Cons: Non-smoking room #115; the smell of smoke was very overwhelming upon opening the door, the nightstand had not been wiped. Behind the door were large spiders webs. The overall cleanliness of the room was very acceptable. THE SMELL OF SMOKE WAS VERY STRONG.

When I came back after dinner there were several police officers there arresting people. When I arrived there were people in the parking area screaming and yelling at one another.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good. Real scrambled eggs and sausage links. Coffee was fine.
Cons: Had to have guidance from staff on how to use the TV. Everything else was OK.

Cons: no
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was dirty; furniture was falling apart and stained; you could hear everything outside in the hallway and window; there was hair in the sheets; toilet paper was down to floor; greasy fingerprints on fridge and microwave; outlet covers missing.

Pros: the best part of staying here was the low price paid for a busy weekend.
Cons:
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Bugs in room. Someone's dirty towel hanging behind door when we arrived. Will never come back
1.0 Poor
Pros: Night desk person was willing to bring in clean bedding, although we had to change the beds ourselves.
Cons: I look for three things in a hotel offer: cleanliness, location, honesty. Honest about the price, evaluation, value. This room was filthy crusty white deposits on the bedding, stains on the chairs, walls, bed covers. My feet stuck to the carpeting.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff
Cons: Was expecting a little better Hotel was dated
2.5 Mediocre

Cons: The beds had bed bugs. Gross!!!!
6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good, staff was good.
Cons: When we opened the curtains before we left, we found dead cockroaches on the windowsill.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh, and it wasnt just cereal, and donuts. They had eggs, sausage, bacon, and juices. Very nice to have. Also beds were so comfortable. I slept so good besides hearing the people a couple doors down a few times. Worth the money for our stay. Needs to be upgraded in certain areas though.
Cons: People smoking marijuana in their rooms. We could smell it, and we had a small child with us. Also, heard ppl coming up, and down all night to go in and out of a couple certain rooms.

Pros: I cancelled my reservation 12 days in advance and revived a email cancellation confirmation from Expedia. Was still charged by hotel, call the hotel and was told very nasty by the women manager that Expedia never sent confirmation to them, before I could give her any information she told me that it's hotel policy and I would not be getting a refund, to try to get it from Expedia. Expedia call hotel and told them I had conformation of cancellation and that I was due a refund and they claim they never received it. Beware they will charge your card and then say it hotel policy basically stealing your money. Save yourself the trouble and book at the many other hotels in Gettysburg.
