They had an empty conference room at the hotel and they allowed us to utilize the space. We were able to order dinner and drinks and enjoy a special family celebration. Also, we loved having air conditioning since it was very hot during our stay. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our last day special.

Cons: This was a honeymoon trip and within we have visited Rome, Capri, Venice, Geneve, and Paris. This hotel is the only hotel that didn't even bother to give us an upgrade in any way not even a better view room. Other hotel all upgrded us and one hotel gave us thier best suit and it was a 5 start hotel.

Not so close to the old town, but if you like walking in about 12-15 minutes you get there and the city is super nice and lively. The staff has been kind and responsive; we asked for a late check out and they agreed, which gave us the chance to swim in Rhone River (a must try, Geneve has great beaches). The hotel offers free coffee and water 24h, which is a nice plus to your stay. For a one night stay everything was great and there's not much to complain about. If we would have stayed more, I would have chosen something more spacious, maybe with a balcony but Hotel Des Alpes was a great option for us.

Cons: This is not a spa hotel I booked as it had a spa with sauna and hammam. The "Spa" is a large cupboard and consists of a small sauna and smaller steam room for 3 people if you are very good friends and squash together. No showers, Loungers, drinking water etc and you take the towels from the room!!

Cons: Despite an outside temperature of 20 degrees, the indoor temp felt closer to 40. The window in the room opens but that is not useful when there is no cross ventilation. No one on my room could sleep due to the temperature. I literally broke into a sweat within a minute of entering the room. At 3am I checked out and went to a neighboring hotel.

Pros: The location next to the station is unbeatable, and having stayed in several hotels in the area, we think this is the best. It is also decent value for money with clean, modern rooms. For travellers with families it is possible to get a triple room or even adjoining rooms sleeping five.

Pros: We were a family of four with two children and had requested for two adjacent rooms. Much to our delight, we were provided with two corner rooms (715 and 718) which were not only adjacent but set in a separate section of their own, providing complete privacy. Location was ideal with easy access to trams and buses.

Cons: Unhelpful gentleman at the front desk. The building is ugly from the outside and in the hallways. Thin walls meant noise at night. The coffee makers did not have coffee for one and any sugar in the room.

Cons: They take a guarantee on your credit card so be careful. To get it cancelled in case you pay them through a different forex card. Secondly, their bathrooms are very spartan & if you’re unlucky like me they’ll give you one reserved for disabled people which is a huge no no for a romantic getaway.

Take earplugs. Breakfast for cost was theft! Bar that - enjoyed leaving

Cons: We arrived to a very dark reception area. checked into the hotel pre paid and were asked for 400CHF deposit on a room we had already paid for. We were told that it’s just the card details to be held and no deposit will be taken. By the time I got to the lift, the money was taken out. The hotel staff were responding ok at best. The gym is unusable as most of the machines (6 in total) are broken and there is no air con in the room so it’s a complete sweat box. The pillows were very lumpy so I didn’t get a good nights sleep and our tv had about 6 channels that worked. The bathroom is the tiniest bathroom I have been in at a hotel and the shower head was hanging with no place to support it for a good shower. I am 6ft 3 and when I was standing in the shower/bath. My head was hitting the ceiling. The tiles were brown stained also. We asked for a do not disturb sign for one of the days. When we returned, there was a sign on the door saying they will come into the room for security purposes, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Don’t waste your money on this hotel. Almost £700 for 4 nights plus city tax. Let’s hope Vienna changes our experiences! :)
