The design on the lobby
Location is far. A guy in the reception seems unpolite.
Funky Fez offers a very chilled atmosphere and is ran but backpackers ie. not local. It doesn’t feel much like a traditional Moroccan Riad.
The location didn’t feel very safe. The hostel is located just outside the Medina, away from other tourist accommodation. If you’re spending the evening in the Medina you’ll have to walk through the souk which is very easy to get lost in and full of local kids telling you you’re walking in the wrong direction and asking for stupid amounts of money to show you the “right” way, then being aggressive. I felt a lot better when staying in other hostels located closer to the blue gate. Breakfast is buffet style and was good, but not on par with other hostels I stayed at in Fez, it’s missing a touch of local hospitality, which is the best thing about coming to Morocco.
Nice place close to the medina. Walking distance Card payment. Good price for daytrip to Chefchaouen Good breakfast
Good facilities and service with such an affordable price. Breakfast was good. very friendly and helpful staffs. They’ve got nice rooftops, and it’s the best to chill on a sunny day. I booked for only one night but I extended for 4 more nights. The hostel also has programs like walking tour or family dinner, so that you can easily mingle even if you came as a solo traveler.
The location is a bit off, at the last corner of the medina, but it was close to palaza r’cif. The guest kitchen can improve a little bit.
The staff and the breakfast
Can’t use the wifi in the room, no electric socket near to bed
