Cons: A fabulous hotel. Among the best I ever had the pleasure to stay in. Over 200 rooms, but it feels cosy and friendly, like a boutique hotel. I had a nice room at the top floor - spacious and VERY well-designed. The atrium-lobby was sunny, comfy and very pleasant to chill with a wonderful coktail from the bar.

Pros: The hotel met our expectations as a beautiful, clean and friendly location. The staff really went above and beyond when we realized after checkout that we had left valuables in the room! We had traveled to Prague and were unable to return to collect. Manager arranged delivery and personally brought to us in Prague. It was a huge relief to know it was in such safe hands!!! Cons: Just wish there was a small store with more snacks and drinks that could be brought to room. Even close by it was hard to locate a small supermarket. Traveling with children, it is nice to have options!

Cons: No towels in room when we arrived or complimentary water. Small issue, but not ok for supposed 4 star property. Front desk was a bit unfriendly, didn’t really assist when asked for food recommendations or for information regarding touring. There wasn’t any information at desk regarding the area , no brochures and desk people weren’t helpful. Parking was expensive. Lastly, we had a room facing the large construction site, would request a quieter room.

Cons: Lack of toiletries, first we had to ask for roll of toilet paper, since only half of the previous one was left, so we had to ask for extra, which you would not expect from 5star hotel. Then we discovered that bottles with conditioners and shower gel were empty or half empty. Reception did not ask for any feedback about our stay.

Cons: For a 5-star hotel, the Internet was very unsatisfactory. It should work all the time. It didn't. Sometimes you could get on, but were bumped off for no reason. Sometimes it was impossible to even get online. The explanation given at the desk was that the walls were so thick the router couldn't all be accessed. Again, that's not satisfactory. For the money we paid to be in a Junior Suite, the router should have been able to access that suite. If it is necessary to wire a router to every room, do it! The technician had gone home for the day, and would be back the next morning. Too late: we were leaving then. Other than that, we hadno complaints.

After we checked in & got key for one room, we had to await for another room very long & queued up again and again to the reception desk being updated on the matter, which should be basically coped with/followed-up by the hotel stuff automatically - but NOT though. This is absolutely unprofessional lacking in respect & service mentaility & process management. In this regards & this service quality of Kempinski, it equals to a 2stars hotel or Jugend Herberge

We had a room with view towards the Neumarkt Square, everything was just perfect. The fully equipped kitchen will help you if you prefer to take a meal or two in the room. Cons: Nothing to complain about, in our case and for our room everything was excellent. At the moment there is indeed an ongoing construction development next to the hotel but in fact it will not disturb you too much, only a little bit in the morning . It will not affect you at all during the weekend. But of course this has nothing to do with the hotel and anyway the noise is heard around the whole square. The location will more than compensate this temporary situation.

Cons: We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel ,although the buffet looked lovely , because we thought it over-priced in comparison with other similar hotels we have stayed in in Germany . Indeed we established that it was about 30% more than getting a good continental or cooked breakfast with coffee in most of the local establishments,including the cafe on the museum terrace run by the Hilton !! If the hotel breakfast had been more reasonably priced we would not have looked elsewhere . Secondly there was no kettle in the room ,so no possibility of making a cup of tea. There is a Nespresso machine in the room but we were disappointed that we were only provided with one free Nespresso capsule per person for the whole 3 night stay . After that we were meant to purchase the capsules at reception . We have never encountered this mean approach anywhere else in the world and it is counter-productive because we just felt determined not to collude with this greedy ,shortsighted management policy ! What a shame that we can’t rate the hotel more highly because of this as so many other things were positive,especially your staff !

Pros: The hotel has a bright and spacious feel to it.The rooms are very clean and there are two reataurants on site which both provided plenty of choice at reasonable prices. (This was appreciated as there appeared to be few restaurants in the area apart from two Asian cafes next door). The breakfast was excellent with the usual German offerings of cereals, juice, cheese, cured meat, fish, eggs, sausage, bacon, numerous breads and toppings plus cake! There is a bar and pleasant outdoor area for seating too. The hotel is situated about 15 minute walk from the Altstadt and 20 minutes from the main train station. The tram or Strassenbahn stop is very close and tickets can be bought at hotel reception which was so easy. The staff at the hotel were very helpful.

Cons: In-room coffee service is a surprising thing that fails in this hotel, both in the regular rooms and the suites. Location is good when one is attending an event situated at the hotel or World Trade Center (WTC complex), tourist attractions are a bit inconvenient to access and are impractical to reach by foot- when compared to other hotels in the same price category located directly in the old town and within walking distances of tourist locations this hotel feels just a bit off the beaten track; tram stop though is directly in front of the hotel and provides good access.

Cons: Being picky: Shower curtains didn't work well for avoiding the water to split out. The breakfast lack of natural orange juice. It's a bit outside the city center (20 minute walking) but next to the hotel there is nothing at non-working hours. Dresden is rather small, so being 20m from the center is kind of a let down, you have to buy a tram ticket to quickly commute.

The breakfast was fantastic, with everything one can wish for and a lot more. The hotel is very clean and the staff was nice. The room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. We've made a reservation in advance for a parking place and had to pay extra for it, but it was near the hotel. A great value for the money. We would love to come back someday. Thank you!

Pros: The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The breakfast was excellent with lots of options and great food. In regards to location it was a short walk to the old town and easy to access transit lines, I would stay here again.

Cons: Painting and renovation work was in progress in the lobby with dust sheets on the floor and scaffolding in place. Reception was lukewarm!!

Cons: Receptionist was rude as I had dollars and he didn’t want to change . There was no shampoo in bathroom. There were German channels none was English movie or bbc or cnn.

Cons: Maybe I had bad luck because I arrived on 1 May which is a holiday in Germany, but the main restaurant was closed on that day and the next. I had stayed in this hotel a few years before, the lobby had been transformed in the meantime, and I found it a bit less attractive than before. More specifically, I did not like the continuous background music nor the multicolored illumination of the bar.
