The new interiors are quite nice and simple. I also appreciated the total light-shielding window curtain. Having stayed there 3 or 4 years ago, I was very pleased by the upgrade in management, quality of staff (John, who took care of my room each afternoon, was very conscientious with being sure the customer, me, had all they could provide.) The bathroom light that came on when I entered it was a nice plus. Waay improved over customers compared to 3- years ago! A good place to stay on a limited budget, however...*
The two times I'd not remembered to go back & turn it off, the bathroom light /exhaust fan continued to run. With heat being sucked-out the room and the room heater on auto, (unnecessarily $$)$) the exhaust light & fan were still on when I returned hours later. No shampoo or hairdryer, and tiny bath soap bars. I much prefer bath towels, face cloths beside the tub. It was on the second day I figured the attractive yellow towel holder by the sink had the towels I'd needed. *On both Sat.,& Sunday, mornings, about 8:20--8:30, the man from a room 1-2 doors down warmed-up his car for 10-15+ minutes with rap blaring & thumping so loud I couldn't think, let alone sleep. I called the front desk asking them to please call or come to tell them to turn it down! They're blasting the area,, waking, bothering others. The desk said they can do Nothing: I was told that I could call the Cincinnati Police and ask them to come. Right. Maybe a 1/2 hr. wait if at all. I lived in the area 25 yrs. On the Sunday morning, I went out to the offending car, watched thru the driver's window and waited for him to finish rolling a fat joint. Before he could light it I tapped respectfully on the glass and asked he turn down the blasting music. He actually shut it off and apologized. I was/am bothered I needed to be the one to do it when I'm paying a profitable corporation for a safe night's stay, that values $$ over their customers' well-being. They could end-up being on the wrong side in a class-action suit if they don't change their 'hands-off, we don't want to be involved' policy.
Needed an iron, some type of carpet if it wet outside
No fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker. Bed was a mattress on legs. Way over priced for the accomodatuons.
Friendly staff. No very clean.
The decor was nice, big tv, sheets clean, bed comfy, lots of stations. Mini fridge.
Cleanliness was poor. Poop stains on toilet. Dead bugs. Floor was dirty. WORST PART: OVERHEAD LIGHT JUST RANDOMLY CAME ON ALL NIGHT. Called office at 1:30am, friendly enough lady (underpaid I bet), said there was NOTHING that could be done. Couldn't access lightbulb. I had a sleeping child and we had a 5k at 8 a.m. so I wasn't switching rooms at 2 a.m. I woke up about 10 times in the night to the light. It was ridiculous.
