Great setting and fascinating history
A bit cool and drafty in the bedrooms but understandable due to nature of the single glazed old windows
Beautiful location and helpful friendly staff.
The entire building was covered in scaffolding and polythene.. not something we had been made aware of and not a pleasant view when we arrived. Although the accommodation was kind of quirky and steeped in tradition it would have been nice to have had a tv and maybe a mirror in the room.
Sadly the college is currently shrouded in scaffolding and plastic, and we weren't aware this would be the case beforehand. But it is a stunning house inside although , of course views are non existent at present from the inside. Room was very good size and very wheelchair accessible , as was the atb room. The room felt a little cold in a very warm day outside, possibly as wi does are covered by the workings outside. It also felt slightly damp, but staff had provided a heater and this did help to make the room comfy . Staff were very helpful with wheelchair and luggage and. Letting us know to to access all areas of. The wheelchair user. This is sometimes a real issue , understandably
As above some issues on first afternoon, with temperature of room. Staff helped those issues practically and with lots of helper use settled after a very bad journey.
Amazing location. Basic but adequate room (pillow and mattress a bit hard!) Excellent breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere. Lots to do in the area - we went on a Chichester Harbour Tour.
Hard bed and hard pillows - but a tricky one to solve as it's a personal preference! Noise into the evening from wedding on the lawn - not a major problem as we didn't need to open the bedroom windows but may have been if a hotter evening.
The location and the garden of the hotel were really beautiful. The breakfast was also very rich.
But the house is in the middle of a big renovation and the room offered to us outside the main house was rather dingy. Only after our intervention did we get a renovated room. We also missed a TV, a safe and the minibar (the room was more like a student accommodation).
