Passport was required to rent the car — although not mentioned anywhere. In result, I had to go back and forth twice. Compact size was unavailable — they gave me “free upgrade”. It’s nice but resulted in increasing the fuel cost. Why couldn’t I just have what I reserved?! They couldn’t find my reservation right away, only after a lengthy search. The mileage was wrong, it’s good I saw it and requested to change to unlimited. The system kept glitching so they had to enter my info over and over several times. Everything took a while, I wasted at least 45 minutes on this rather simple process of renting a car. VERY SLOW!!!

Overall, excellent experience with the exception of billing. SIXT tried to charge me 3X the average cost of the long term rental for adding a single day. The representative who assisted me took the issue up with his manager and the company confirmed a new rate by email. Unfortunately, their main system did not reflect this rate change and, despite multiple calls with assurances from SIXT that they would refund the difference, it took forever to get any refund and this was nearly US$100 less than promised. Very disappointing (and not responsive post hiring). Never again!
