Chartres bed & breakfasts

Pros: Excellent breakfast. The hostess was very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Pros: The location of this property cannot be beat, in the old town just steps from the Cathedrale and numerous, fine restaurants. Domenique was a delightful host and served a nice, typical French breakfast. She was helpful with advice, and allowed us to keep our bags in her locked foyer while we did more exploring on our last day. FInally, the room we had was downright gargantuan in size, and very comfortable.

Pros: You can see the Cathedral from the bedroom window, and it is a 3 minute walk. Dominique was a gracious hostess, and the .room was large and comfortable. We had a wonderful meal at Esprit Gourmand, which was also a short walk

Pros: The room was very comfortable. The owners were so nice and helpful, would not stay anywhere else if visiting Chartres.

Pros: We absolutely loved this little gem!! We were welcomed by the host (Lester) and his friendly spaniel dog, Lennon. Lester did not speak much English, but we were shown around and understood enough until the other host (Dominique) arrived and was able to communicate with us better. She recommended a few things and a wonderful restaurant to have dinner. The home was gorgeous, with a stunning back yard garden and close proximity to everything. The church was right around the corner and there was an amazing light show that evening! We loved the breakfast in the morning in their beautiful dining room with another couple staying there. Everything was quiet and clean and we would love to return! A couple things to note- the hotel is not clearly marked (very small sign on the side of the door) and it is on a pedestrian street (no cars). There is an overnight parking lot around the corner, but it did not take U.S. credit cards, so that was an issue and we had to call the number on the pay machine for assistance.

Pros: The breakfast was amazing, so good! It's a nondescript building from the outside, but opens into a very large, historic, and well decorated and maintained house. Our host was delightful and very nice. We felt like we had a friend in Chartres. The cathedral is around the corner, a few minutes walk away.

Pros: Lovely property in excellent location but be aware there is no parking near by and be prepared to park s few blocks away

Pros: Wonderful place to stay! Beautiful home, incredible hostess and just steps away from the Cathedrale! I enjoyed having breakfast with other guests and making those connections. I was travelling alone and felt very safe and supported.

Pros: If you want to be able to look out your window and feel you could touch the walls of Chartres Cathedral, then this is the place! We were in the spacious attic room that takes a few flights of stairs to reach but well worth it. The staff won our hearts when they grabbed our heavy luggage for us and trudged up the steps. The restaurants along the street were great and reasonably priced.

Pros: A historic house directly on the Cathedral square, with stunning view of the cathedral. We had an elegant two room suite decorated like an eighteenth century drawing room.

Pros: Location location location. Super staff fun old building. NOT your run-of-the-mill modern day hotel. Amazing breakfast. Look out the window of our room right onto the cathedral

Pros: Chartres is easy and inexpensive to reach via Paris by train and the hotel an easy ten minute walk from the railroad station. Staying here felt like being at home. The room was comfortable and with a view of the cathedral a stone's throw across the street. I enjoyed relaxing in the suite after an afternoon exploring the neighboring shops and sights. The night time light show was amazing. Breakfast was ample, served tableside, and more than enough to start the day. I look forward to returning. Thank you.

Pros: This boutique hotel is next door to the famous Chartres Cathedral and right in the center of town. It's an easy walk to several local restaurants and bars. The staff was super helpful helping us haul our luggage up two narrow flights of stairs. The room decor was eclectic, but very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had a separate water closet which makes it convenient for a couple sharing a bathroom. It has excellent lighting. The breakfast was outstanding! Great coffee, lovely pastries and a variety of cheeses and meats with fresh squeezed orange juice. Well worth the price.

Pros: Lovely hotel... Nothing to much trouble.. Everything worked ...loads of hot water ..good position.. Good food.. Owner was away his mother made us feel very welcome and at home...

Pros: We stayed for two nights with a view to visiting the cathedral and old town at our leisure, so the location was ideal. The hotel is of interesting character, where uneven floors and doors which don't quite fit properly are all part of its quirky charm. Our room, Les Louis, was warm and comfortable, with a novel shower and a surprise kitchenette in a cupboard. Internet access was fine. We were given a friendly reception by the proprietor, and we enjoyed reasonably priced, unpretentious meals on both evenings. A plentiful, traditional breakfast was served.
